Back To Fujifilm For My X-T4… Some Of The Problems I Had

In today's I go over what problems I have been having with my Fujifilm X-T4 and that I am having to send it off to be repaired. This isn't a sponsored video in any form today, I just made a warranty claim and I got a nice little loaner camera in return while I am without my main camera. I got the X-T4 back in April for my video productions here on KZbin as it replaced my old setup the Canon M50 as I needed more from my setup.

It really isn't :( so far on this Thursday it would have been 5 weeks since I dropped it off, I should hopefully have it back by next week but it is all very vague at the moment. The replacement camera from CE is nice but it has made me realise just how much I really like the xt4 now, it has also given me some perspective on what camera will come with me on the plane back to England in just over 4 months time.

@@SimonPhillipsPhoto I really hope you get your x T4 back this week. It’s been a long repair process. I know how we can get attached to our cameras and enjoy creating with one more than others. It’s being in sync:-) I’m sure you will enjoy shooting with the XT4 when it’s returned!

I just bought myself the Fujifilm X-H2 new, because I wanted the rotating LCD display and the resolution with the 40MP sensore. I sold my X-Pro3 for a good price with MPB.

Nice stuff! certainly a nice upgrade for the rotating LCD display, I like that more over the standard ones. I'm glad you got a good price with your old camera using MPB

Hey Simon, About the lens adapting, I was inquiring whether you have tried using your Canon L glass on the Fuji, via an adapter. I have some L glass and am reviewing my opinions for an upgrade to mirrorless. Our Dslr cameras have about a 44mm gap between flange/sensor, and the mirrorless have about 20mm gap - so an adapter pushes the slr lens out about 24mm to offset. But I'm curious about the efficiency of the AF between brands. I like the fact that Fuji doesn't use a low-pass filter to blur the image. Therefore, I was wondering whether you have attempted this yourself - because you have L glass yourself. Thanks.

Now that makes better sense, I have personally thought about it as I know it is possible. I think with a quality adaptor it would do the job just as well as using the Fuji glass, there is another alternative and that is using FD glass on the camera if you don't mind manually focusing. I'm waiting to get my xt4 back before I do a video on one of my lenses I purchased for the camera, a cheaper alternative to the fuji glass.

I hope that Fuji replaces the entire circuit board for you. With several things potentially messed up, this could resolve them all at once. I also have the Canon 5D4 and am curious about adapting my EF lenses if I were to switch brands. Have you tried adapting EF lenses to your Fuji? If so, how efficient does it focus with Canon lenses? I haven’t heard anything back from them in great detail yet, but I do know the repair is a big one and I do also suspect it is the main board as it really is the only big thing to replace. It’s been almost 5 weeks now since I dropped it off at the store. I haven’t actually thought about adapting Fuji glass onto my 5D, I don’t think it will work though because Fuji glass is designed to project a image far closer onto a sensor so with a dslr plus a adapter it would really change things. If it was a apsc canon mirrorless camera it might be a different story.
