In 2015 I was waiting in the Walmart autoshop for some repairs to be done. As I was sitting there, an employee came out from the back with a box and called for "Chris Lloyd". An old guy stood up and went to the counter to pick up the part for his car. It was very surreal for me. I laughed to myself, "Doc's getting parts for the Delorean." And then I thought about what year it was and my mind was blown.

Not that long ago I was at Wally's and there was a young lady at the pharmacy counter. Similar mind-blowing experience. They asked her name and she said Holly McLean. Different movie, same feeling. I had to ask, and she had no clue. Well, she did say she'd heard of the movie. I told her she HAD to watch it. Crazy.

This was one of the first movies that perfected the technology to allow the same actor to play both parts in the same scene that allowed two Biffs, two Jennifers, two Martys, or two Docs on the screen at the same time. That's common now but when this came out it was a jaw dropping "how did they do that???" reaction in theatres.

You know, this movie was only off by 1 year in predicting the Cubs would finally win the World Series. They actually won in 2016 (happy tears) against Cleveland. In the movie they beat Miami, who didn't even have a team yet when this was made. The Cubs hadn't won a World Series since 1908 and had been a punchline for generations.

Yeah, part 2 & 3 were filmed together for continuity, as everyone was getting older, and there had already been a huge break since the first, so it just made the most sense. Then of course, having a cliffhanger at the end of part 2 just meant more interest and hype for the conclusion the following year. All three movies were amazing, and the fact that the two later movies were written after the fact is even more astonishing. This was truly a once in a lifetime epic, as if something like this was done today, the second and third movies would have probably been terrible.

In 1989 I was coming home from my night shift job around midnight when I noticed some really bright lights in my neighborhood. I walked over to see what was happening and was thrilled to discover they were filming a scene of BTTF 2, the shotgun porch scene with Mr. Strickland. After about an hour every other spectator left but me, so now when I watch that scene I can imagine my much younger self there watching in awe. Watching reactions like yours is the next best thing to seeing it the first time. I doubt if there will ever be another trilogy as magical & fun as this one.

Also, I think the reason why the town is so advanced in 2015 is because Doc might’ve helped the whole town progress in technology another explanation would be that he went back in time to the 1880s and lift the hoverboards in that time. And I believe the people at the time took it and studied it and probably progressed far quicker and sooner in terms of technology, etc..

Back to the Future ended up being a ride at Universal Studios!! They took you in a room garage Like room & the DeLorean was in there behind the garage door. We all got in & it filled with smoke. We couldn't see until we went through the door in the DeLorean. All of a sudden we were going like 400mph & headed at the clock tower we broke through it! OMGosh everything was flying & going down through a dinosaurs throat!! It was so crazy! My wussy bf started to feel sick! That's how I seen what was going on. They had a gigantic screen and if you looked around you could see 10 DeLoreans all pointed at the screen! All the bumping & jerkin etc...was just the car literally stayed in the same spot but opened the garage door with all the smoke. We thought oh crap, best ride anywhere Ever!! We never even left the garage. It was crazy! I loved it!! Had to wait a while but it was worth it. Last time I was there, they changed it to a Bart Simpson ride! It sucked!! And all these years, we still say..hey McFly. But when Doc keeps saying Great Scott, that is from Star Trek! Still want to see Breakfast Club!!

So the actor who plays Biff is actually a stand up comic who is really good. His best bit though is he sings a song because he got frustrated with people asking him questions only about this movie series so the song answers all of the common questions at the same time.

@@DannyCosmos hello, sorry if my english is not correct, since i'm brazilian. But there aren't four DeLoreans, at most there were three, when they were all in 1955 (Marty 1, Marty 2, doc and old Biff). The DeLorean from the old deogado mine didn't exist yet, since doc, hadn't gone to 1885 yet. See, they don't live in a loop, where the story already exists, otherwise there wouldn't be a first timeline, in which no one traveled. When Doc and Marty returned to 1955, as they arrived at dawn, there were only two DeLoreans. Old Biff apparently arrived in the afternoon and happened to have three DeLoreans. But old Biff left soon and came back with just two DeLoreans. The DeLorean is struck by lightning, at that moment and disappears, and in the same minute there is another DeLorean in the Deogado mine, continuing with two, the one in the mine and the one Marty 1 is about to travel, until only the one in the mine Deogado

Part 2 and 3 were filmed together, but it still gets me how precise they had to be, with the re-shoots, and just going back and using footage from the first movie. Its just crazy to think about. All this because Biff created an alternate timeline. Like Doc said, if they tried to go to the future of the alternate 1985, then it would only change THAT timeline. So they had to go to the past.

I’m 66 now so, I saw all of this as they were released. We were all speculating about what was going to happen next. If no one has already said this, remember that Doc went to 1885 in the Dr Lorean. So, it has to exist in 1885. As you pointed out, when Marty went back from 1955 you have to remember that was from Part 1 do, everything that happened still took place up until Doc going to 1885. It’s kind of a “head trip to wrap your mind around how the scripture was written. You are really right-it was almost genius in the writing.

Great reaction, Loved it. Glad you saw the short teaser for Part III at the end. Most people will say to not watch it, but this was how the filmmakers let the fans know that there is another film coming out in a few short months; because Part II was released in November of 1989 and Part III was released in May of 1990. It was one big story being told in two parts; just as it was with the Superman films of the 70’s, The Matrix, Lord of the Rings, and Pirates of the Caribbean. They filmed both movies back to back to be released 9 months to a year apart from each other.

The 3rd movie has Biff as an outlaw in the old west. In my opinion that was his best performance, right up there with his original character. Just a great trilogy, and I think the best ever.

I remember '89 being an absolute vintage year for movies as a 10 year old kid. BTTF II, Indiana Jones, Batman, The Little Mermaid, Honey I Shrunk the Kids, Ghostbusters II, Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure.

Michael J. Fox is 5' 4". Tom Wilson (Biff/Griff) is 6'3"...and is reportedly one of the nicest guys in Hollywood. Christopher Lloyd played a Klingon in Star Trek 3 - one of the Alien Warriors like Worf from Star Trek The Next Generation. Back in the day, when this first came out, the ending of this one was CRAZY!

Because I watched this as a kid and then again in 2015 as an adult the one thing I found really spooky was the widescreen television on the wall in the future, they got it spot on! Those tv’s weren’t in anyones mind when this was made!!

When the year of the movie came about, there's been a lot of comparisons on social media (and just media) on the differences between what the movie predicted and what really is around. Some people even went out of their way to create the stuff for real. Look those up, it's a lot of laughs.

They started by showing the end scene from part 1 again because they recast Jennifer (Marty's gf). Also, the actor (Crispin Glover) who played Marty's dad in the first movie was not in this movie or part 3. His image was digitally superimposed over the face of the actor who did appear. Glover sued, and won, because they used his image without permission. The Screen Actors' Guild made changes to actors' contracts afterward to try to prevent that from happening again. However, in the current actors/writers strike, it has come up again as an issue. Actor Misha Collins (formerly on the shows Supernatural and Gotham Knights) posted a clip from a TV show on which he has never worked, and for which he was not paid, in which his image was digitally added, saying "this is why we strike." Biff brought the car back to the same place he left from. It never made sense to me that he was able to go back to 1955 and come forward again to the same timeline, but Doc and Marty couldn't go forward to the same timeline from 1985, they had to go further back and fix things. Michael J. Fox is 5'4".

Really enjoyable reliving these films with your eyes :) They were so cool at the time and so cleverly put together(so many Easter eggs that you don't spot the first time). It was so painful having that last bit show in the cinema and know we had to wait a year for the conclusion (BTTF 2 & 3 were actually filmed together)

What's a bit grim if you think about it is why Doc was at the precise place and time ready to rescue Marty from Biff, when Marty was almost ran over. The only plausible explanation apart from pure luck is that Marty actually got ran over in the original timeline, and Doc came back in time to help him.

STEP 2 of 3 in creating a MASTERPIECE. The timelines added up and I am so glad that they added up to the Original 1985 from the first movie. If they had slipped up and gone from the REAL TIME of the second movie it would have screwed ever thing up. That is ANOTHER reason why I say that this TRILOGY is a MASTERPIECE. 1 more to go and I am excited, again. Great reactions.
