@@BackroadsAngling you need to try hooking up with Spencer and collaborate with him he loves a good Wiper bite with the shot at a bonus Walleye or Flattie or even Josh with Pig Patrol would love sling that baby whale there. Fishing with either one of them would greatly increase your subs I would bet. Great vid.

5 to 15 lb flathead are the best eating fish you caught, especially in hot weather.

How could you not expect fish to bite at that spillway? That place is practically holy land. Those drum are kinda ugly, but they still look like fun. I would love to catch one, or a wiper, one day.
@BackroadsAngling2 ай бұрын
There are plenty of slower days at this spot. I just show the best ones. But you are correct it is a pretty amazing fishery. Drum are underrated I think because they are so plentiful but honestly they are just as much fun to catch as most of these other species. Thanks for watching!

@@DreadyEDDY710 yes i melt the plastic back down and re-pore. Most of these I’m using have likely been recycled many times. I separate the white from the chartreuse with scissors before melting.

I need to figure out how to get to the other side. Can you park in the spots that say you need a permit?
@BackroadsAngling2 ай бұрын
You don't need a permit before 7:30am if I remember correctly. I can't remember if you need one on weekends - I don't think so but check the sign. Otherwise you have to make a bit of a walk from further down the street.

White/chartreuse flukes. I made a homemade mold and pour them myself. You can get similar ones from Zoom plastics.

@@BackroadsAngling they look super thick though compared to flukes I’ve fished
@BackroadsAngling2 ай бұрын
@@coreygraham796 Ya they have some meat to them. And the plastic I'm using is pretty dense/hard. They work pretty well in fast current because they hit the water and punch quickly below the white wash. The fish at this spot seem to like them anyway.

You're killing those fish by dragging them across the rocks and gravel, knocks off the protective slime cover.👎 A good rubber net can be had for cheap. Get one and use it please.

There is a nice shallow water landing area where I can usually keep them in shallow water while I'm landing them. All these fish were released happy and healthy.
