Brilliant video. My brother has a cheapie version just for doing batchrooms. Ive got a De Walt 18v Drill combo set and having just done some fencing at my sisters house, setting up the chop saw and power cable was a pain, but I needed it to square up those horizontal boards meeting at the posts. Your idea of trimming them in situ was great. I'm doing loft boarding in another daughters house next week and this would be ideal. Thanks for your great review.

Thank you for showing the plunge cuts; that's exactly what I needed to see in action. This will be my first power tool (other than a drill), and I'll be using it to cut holes in the floorboards to access the bottom of my boat. It feels a lot less intimidating than a full circular saw.

@@Bacrenfencing It looks a better tool for floorboards - I currently use my multitool for cutting access points, and although the multitool is great it can be slow and VERY ! noisey. Amazing what products are available to us now days, we are very spoilt indeed.

Yes the visibility the size it’s all a winner for me I agree the big ones are just never winners for me I don’t build houses and do stuff but small jobs like plunge cut to drop in a sink or just quick cuts here and there much easier. Great opinion vid

@@Bacrenfencing INTIMIDATING is the word I would use to for circular. I did try a smaller one once from makita once spun slowest and you could see .the guards which you always must have can get in the way like the dewalt table saw I know it’s wrong but it seems safer to use without the Saftey guard. I love my jigsaw because I can see it all and have complete control but it’s SLOW hence the need for this beauty ordered the other day looking forward to playing with it soon

I have one its a little beast, very heavy but very accurate. When Ive time I'm going to make a perspex base for it to work with a track and keep it for sheet materials as its 2mm too shallow for studding plus I've the flexvolt monster anyway
@Bacrenfencing4 жыл бұрын
Yes, they are great. Good idea re. the perspex base and track, could be a great little track saw. Thanks for the comment 👍
@carnagemetalclub4 жыл бұрын
@@Bacrenfencing when I eventually get around to it I'll let you know the result. Worth a go, nothing to lose bar a couple hours of time really. Im thinking with the extra 10 to 15mm needed for base and track it'll be nicer to use without having the cut angle so high for 18mm rips

For cutting out single sockets, is the cut too long? Would I be better with a multitool? What's it like on brick concrete?

If you had to only get one circular saw, would you choose this one or a full size one? Not really for professional purposes, just DYI stuff
@Bacrenfencing3 жыл бұрын
Hi Kevin, if it is just DIY around the house, then probably best with a full size version for the simple fact that they are half the price and do the same job. In saying that, if you just want a small compact saw and price is not an issue, then definitely go for this as it is a lot easier to use. Thanks for the comment.

I ordered the solo unit from Amazon US last night and decided to post a question about battery compatibility. Stanley and Black & Decker replied saying that tools that are sold in the US are not compatible with batteries made for UK and Europe market. I am still puzzled but I canceled the order.
@Bacrenfencing11 ай бұрын
In the UK the batteries are 18v and in the us they are 20v. Just make sure whatever version of multi tool you buy that it is either 18v or 20v. If you already have 20v batteries for instance, buy the 20v version of the multi tool and vice versa. Hope this helps clarify ?

Mine didnt come with a battery so i use the ones for my drill do u know anything about the 60v flexvoly batteries i get alot of mixed reviews what battery do u suggest?
@Bacrenfencing4 жыл бұрын
Hi, here in the UK we use 18v and 54v flexvolt which are the equivalent of 20v and 60v in the US. I usually use my circular saw with 5AH 18v batteries but do on occasion use 6AH 54v flexvolt batteries when doing a lot of heavy duty cuts. If using 20v flexvolt, I would recommend the 6ah as opposed to the 9AH because it is smaller but still produces a lot of power. I hope this helps ? 👍
@cantstopwontstop60804 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the reply man i appreciate it and i am going to go with the 6ah you seem like a reputable guy i was going to go with the 12ah but its a bit more expensive and yes this helped alot thanks again
@Bacrenfencing4 жыл бұрын
@@cantstopwontstop6080 The 6AH is a good choice, you will get on well with that one. I think the 12AH would be too heavy and bulky. All the best !

I have used mine constantly and love it, but then again, I don't tend to hang it off a belt . I use mine more like a circular saw which I do not tend to attach to myself.
