You seem like a nice guy to know and I'm going to subscribe. Back in the day, like 50 years ago I wanted to open a pawn shop in my little home town of Fairport, N.Y.. Went before the town board of fuddy-duddys and they said, "No way, not in our town, no way.". The town and area already had several antique shops which was fine with them. I waited a month and went back a applied for a antiques shop permit in a building right on the main drag and on a well traveled corner and they said, "wonderful" and wished me luck with a thank you. I named it Unicorn Antiques and in big red and yellow letters under that I had, Buy - Sell - Trade. On the door I had, Cash for Gold - Silver - Jewelry and Coins. It turned out better than a pawn shop as I wasn't required to hold anything on tickets for 30 days for resale. I also did a lot of trash day hunting for old furniture and all kinds of resaleable things. My business cards were printed Unicorn Antiques & Auction Service as I was also a self taught auctioneer. I hunted abandoned houses and the backs of stores also and over the years made a lot of money on the cleaned up freebies. I wish you a lot of successful finds in what seems like a thriving business. In the past 50 years I had built my business into three antiques shops, two up North and one in Florida. I'm retired now and and brag about not doing a lick of work in those 50 years, because I loved every minute of what I did no matter how hard it was. Someone else's junk can be profitable, my paid for house and horse barn on nine acres of property can prove that.

#CraigslistHunter you never did a video about what happened with the eBay and PayPal scammers that did 2 claims with eBay and lost and then open a case with PayPal and lost and then opened another case with PayPal and won? WHAT WAS THE UPDATE AND CONCLUSION OF THAT STORY???

Just found your show yesterday and haven’t stopped watching. I’m very inspired! I thank you in advance for a peek into the world you have created. I’m a music producer from Rhode Island and enjoyed the turntable segment. I’m shooting for building an EBay store off of watching your videos. I’d like to wish everyone in the comments Happy Holidays!!!!

I taught dance at Arthur Murray's school of dance and we were always changing belts but we also ran the Pioneer turntable for 12 hrs a day non stop and even longer when we had our studio parties !!

Regarding turntables, why don't people look? Most of them say belt drive on them, I find it amusing. If Rose the bird is loud through these videos she will be louder in real life I should imagine.

That's why pawn shops hold stuff for certain amount of time to find out if it's stolen.

Hi Pete, quick question I hope you can answer. I picked up a bang-olufsen turntable that runs perfectly but after it starts the stylus sets on the record and then I hear a switch...the stylus returns to the rest and the turntable turns off, like it reached the end of the record. I can't find anything on google, but thought you might have a suggestion. It's not a belt problem.

I didn't know people still used gramophones. I have a bunch of albums to sell. :-}

You probably went over this question but I haven't yet seen your video for it so......For buy it now items, how long is the initial listing ? 7 days 30 days and should check that I accept OBO's? Your videos have been awesome and because of watching them, I started selling on eBay .

dude, like that's NOT a gramophone, it's a turntable. Original gramophones had no electric parts. they were wind up, and all amplification came from a cone that worked like a megaphone. The Grammy's are called that because the trophy is shaped like an antique gramophone. Real Gramophones were pretty much done by the late 1930's, early 1940's as electric motors and vacuum tube amplification came in, for a while radio kind of took over. By the 50's, they were putting turntables and radios together, using the amp circuit for either.

4 years later. THANKS for posting this, because that triggered me slightly how it was constantly called a gramophone.

As a record collector there is nothing worse then stickers on the cover. Do me a favour and start putting the price tag just inside the slave that way it doesn’t damage the cover.
