Panning is the term for going from one ear to the other. As for Bad Company, there is a good chance that Paul Rodgers is your favorite rock singer's favorite singer. Bad Company was contemporary with Led Zeppelin for a few years, and the two bands were very friendly. If you want to hear Rodgers' vocal power, Feel Like Makin' Love is the next BadCo song you should do.

I was more into the 80's version of the band with Brian Howe on vocals after Paul left. Saw them in concert in the mid 90's. Hell of a show! When it's time for the encore.....Brian walks up to the mic and says "umm we found some crazy ole geezer in the back.......he wants to say hello". The band starts playing "rock n roll fantasy" (they already performed this song with Brian)....."this ain't no rock n roll fantasy....I'm f'cking here!!!" ---the old geezer....none other than Paul Rodgers hits the stage and they do a 6 song encore. Replaying "can't get enough", "moving on", "feel like making love", "alright now", and closed with "bad company " . Brian is excellent but those songs hit different with Paul on vocals. Greatest thing I've seen at a concert!

Very nice you reacted to this! Brings a lot of good memories. The stereo panning you noticed was popular during the 70’s. Their contemporaries like Bachman Turner Overdrive often used this stereo effects. Runnin’ with the pack and Silver Blue and Gold were also prominent hits of them. Love your reaction! You’re beautiful!

Hi Madalina! Back when we were listening to Bad Company and all the other great bands of the '60s and '70s, you didn't see their faces or anything else unless you saw them in concert or you saw them on a TV performance like talk show or late night music show like The Midnight Special. You just put the album on and let it play. Or turned on the radio and listened to whatever they played. It's great to be able to see a band play live (and if it's really live, as in you are really there rather than seeing a video, it's a whole communal experience with the band and audience), but you don't need a video or anything to appreciate music. Music is sound, you just need to listen and let it move you. As for lyrics, back then if you were lucky lyrics would be printed on the album cover or slip. Now, you can easily find them on the Internet. Just a quick google is all it takes. They are mostly pretty accurate, often more accurate than lyric videos. Thanks for the reaction!

I think Bad Company is considered a supergroup because it's members had come from being in other known groups, although, at least the original line up, I think we're probably more successful as Bad Company, then they had been in the other groups. Personally, I think they were one of the best bands that I think really have what I consider that 70s sound. They were a British group, and the original line up was big in the 70s, into the early 80s, with Paul Rodgers as lead singer. Then they reformed with a new lineup later in the 80s, into the 90s with Brian Howe as singer. Then I think they've reformed in different combos a couple times over the past 20ish years. I think the drummer is the only one that's been in every single line up of Bad Company. Some of the other classic songs from the 70s Paul Rodgers era, like this one was, are "Feel Like Makin' Love", "Ready For Love", "Shooting Star", and "Rock N Roll Fantasy". I'm sure you can find live versions of them doing those, probably with both singers when they were young and when they were old. Then during the Brian Howe era, there was "If You Needed Somebody" from like 1990. Which is a personal favorite because I was probably a 12 or 13 year old weirdo when it came out, that was a dopey hopeless romantic that didn't get much attention from girls, or was too shy and stupid to know what to do when I did. So, when the music video for that song was popular, I vibed very hard with it!

It's my favorite thing to do! 🤘🤘🤘 Studio album recordings, however, almost always provide the best sound quality of songs. Paul has sung for a number of bands, including Free, Bad Company, Deep Purple, The Firm, and more. With appearances on many others. Dude's career has spanned more than 50 years! His voice still sounds good! Recently, he sang with an all star band at Gary Rossington's tribute. CMT?? maybe? They did 3 Skynyrd songs and killed it!! Warren Haynes, Billy Gibbon, and Slash on guitar; Chuck Leavell on keys, Wynona and LeeAnn Rymes as the Honkettes. I dont know who the bassist or drummer were. There was a young, up and coming country singer, too- he looked giddy as hell to be up there with all those legends. A fitting tribute to Gary. ( And Skynyrd) Paul was a mentor of sorts to them, and all were huge Free fans.

"Stereo panning" is the technique that many rock bands have used in their songs. Certain sounds are moved from the left to right side or right to left side. Some sounds will stay on one side. It's one of the best things about studio album recordings. Progressive rock bands love to use stereo panning. If you have a good home speaker system, or if you are wearing headphones, the effect is wonderful! Some good songs with panning effects: "Ramble On" , "What is and What Should Never Be" - Led Zeppelin "Money" - Pink Floyd "Lucky Man" - Emerson, Lake and Palmer "Bohemian Rhapsody" - Queen

Hi Biss. Thank you for giving back a bit of my teenage years. In the 70s I rode the bus for two hours to attend college in Manila. These were considered ‘outlaw buses’ popular with teenagers. Always breaking the speed limit, with no regards to public safety or rules of the road. All windows wide open, with wind, dust and bugs in your face. Loud speakers at full volume damaging your ear drums. Each bus had their favorite bands. The favorites were the Led Zeppelin bus, the other Bad Company! Imagine every teenager in the bus just rocking, pounding their fists, singing at the top of their voices, singing Bad Company on the way to school! Your swaying to the music, you would have fit right in, Biss!

There are times in Paul Rodger's voice reminds me of Lou Gramm's voice (from Foreigner).

His voice is very similar to Paul Rodgers in the group Free (you might know their song "All Right Now"). His voice is also very similar to Paul Rodgers in the group called The Firm (with Jimmy Page from Led Zeppelin). His voice sounds very similar, because they're all the same Paul Rodgers 👍😁

I believe Bad Company were the first band signed to Led Zeppelin’s personal record label Swan Song. Could be wrong though lol

Awesome reaction Biss!!! Love this band. Singer actually did a tour as lead singer for a reformed Queen line up. Sometime, on your own time maybe, check out the songs Feel Like Makin Love, Shooting Star, and Good Lovin Gone Bad. Keep up the great entertainment! CHEERS!!! 🍻🤟👏

That was a tambourine you were hearing towards the end. I suggest "shooting star", "silver blue and gold", "feel like making love", and "ready for love"
