I thought I was the only one who felt like this that entire album, it feels like it’s trying to be so many things at the same time that it just spirals down into an unsalvageable wreckage. Not to mention Corey’s grating voice while he’s singing which feels like it would have fit in literally ANY other kind of song that didn’t have electronic motifs.

I think one of the aspects of this album that really contributes to its unique badness is that it sounds about 20 years too late. There is such a distinct late 90s-early 00s vibe to this that indicates to me that that was when Corey really stopped paying attention to pop music even though it seems like he wanted this to be a really contemporary pop album that the kids would like.

I feel like people don’t give enough credit to artists whose music is “so bad it’s good”. It’s not just about how bad the records are, but how uniquely and creatively the artist reaches that level. They stand out so much from other “bad” music, they begin to blur the line between “good and bad”. And at that point, what’s the point of calling it “so bad it’s good” when we can just call it “good”?
