That survival instinct/tyranno infinity combo won me a challenge duel before. Way back when Yu-Gi-Oh teams were kinda big, I was on one that had a neat challenge where we could be pounced by hunters online, and we would have to duel them as a gx character. I was Hassleberry. I was getting crushed, and had used survival instinct just to last one more turn. His field was pretty set up, so I didn't have many options. I top decked infinity, and summoned and attacked with him even though my opponent had 3 back row. They were all fakes, and I did nearly 10k damage to him to win. That was the most anime moment of my life.

Super Conductor Tyranno was the first monster to break the 3000 attack rule. The effect is a stronger but more restricting Cannon Soldier. DInosaurs got their first significant support in Power of the Duelist, but it still was not enough to make them anything worth using. Also the rock structure deck is actually earth because of giant rat. I can't believe it took several years to make a good dinosaur deck. Evolzars were the first step, but they were dragons.

Dinosaur's Rage had a strategy and one back up. Use Black Ptera as tribute fodder and get it back in your hand. Using BEP? Tribute Black Ptera. Need a tribute for a tribute summon? Use Black Ptera. Using Ultimate Conductor Tyranno's effect? Use Black Ptera. That's its entire gimmick. A supposed limitless tribute to use the signature magic card and the ace monster's, Ultimate Conductor Tyranno, effect. The backup was to banish with Survival Instinct and summon Tyranno Infinity.

I remember "comboing" Super Conductor Tyranno with "Black Ptera" because whenever I would tribute him on the field with Tyranno, he instantly went back to the hand and I could do it turn after turn if I wanted to be a dick or if my opponent tried to stall me with Gravity Bind or Level Limit Area - B (and I could get around cards like Mirror Force) ... yeah, Yu-Gi-Oh! was QUITE the weird experience for me when I was younger! :'o

I think the worst Structure deck ever is BLAZE OF DESTRUCTION. Like... I actually tested all these old structure decks on YGOPro and even powered them up with some supports from those years. You can even make some interesting combos with a few of them, like milling your opponent's deck with Vampire Genesis and Bone Tower or smashing everything else on the field with Daedalus. But seriously, you can't pull ANYTHING out of the fire deck: the boss monster is rubbish in every single aspect! And this is truly sad because I still think that he's one of the coolest-looking monsters ever drawn.

The banish effect of the boss feels like something that would be super trolly if said boss didn't require tributes. Pyro type monsters in general do not have enough generic support for them, or even any other archetype than Volcanics

The deck was actually pretty good back in the day. Idea was to stall with UFO Turtles/Gravity Bind/Level Limit/etc. Then get out 2 Solar Flare Dragons for a block lock and burn for game. You could use Ultimate Baseball Kid for quick burns/get under your own attack-restricting stuff and Raging Flame Sprite did the same. They even had a unique floater in Foxfire/Fire Fox (i don't remember the name) that gave your opponent one less attack on you. ...the real issue is that it is extremely opponent-centric and gets hurt by different forms of removal other Han battle (which was harder to come by back then), so it really can't be updated effectively whereas others with a more offensive tilt can.

I used to run two Bone Tower, and once my opponent was locked from attacking them, I'd smash Turtle into their monsters to mill and get out my Vampire Lord/Ryu Kokki/etc. xD I ran Vampire Genesis just for fun, and actually won duels with him.

SCT's 3300 isn't a bad body. It can beat over BEWD. I don't think anybody was touching that effect though. At least it wasn't given a forced handicap effect.

Runningon Cylinders the effect isn't that great unless something is negating attack or your opponent can somehow block over the 3300 wall. I guess you could do some cheeky burn with it if you are using ordinary Ultimate tyranno. Survival of the Fittest could make it an OTK. I have some ideas for my side deck now lol.

The best use I see for SCT's effect is if you somehow knew your opponent has a Mirror Force or similar set and you had no effective counter on hand, so you could do damage without triggering it. Outside of a couple very specific circumstances, its effect is useless and its 3300 ATK is far more notable. Might as well have been a normal monster as far as things go.

They were released back in the time when i wasnt so engaged with the game (competitively speaking) and i wanna know about the impact on the meta, cards that matter and etc - the thing you do pretty well. One of the most unfortunate situations to ever happen, from my memories growing up, was when the Counter Trap Fairy deck as well as the Diabolos Structure Deck had their premiere cards taken out and repurposed to become "Secret Rares" for the booster pack released at that time. Sebek's Blessing was probably included to work directly with Black Tyranno and the direct damage effect. Not saying that this was a good mini strategy to include in a deck but the card IS there for a purpose... The Blaze of Destruction deck was pretty fun for burn damage with Ultimate Baseball Kid and Inferno + locking your opponent down by having 2x Solar Flare Dragons on the field. Likewise, Fury From the Deep had some fun plays with Legendary Ocean + 4-star beatsticks + direct attackers and plenty of easy recycling. Problem with both was that the decks worked fine without the boss monsters which were (as this video says) irrelevant to the strategies of the deck(s). Obviously they all look like crap now but some were fun back when the game was slower and less powe-creeped. I often wondered about building something fun by modifiying Fury From the Deep with the Orca Megafortress/Torpedo Fish/Cannonball Spear Shellfish cards + stuff like Legendary Fisherman and Terraforming.

Dinosaur's rage might not have been a strong structure deck, but it was part of the original series of structure decks. Prior to that initial series, the only premade decks you could get were the comedic hodgepodges of the series' main characters that had no design to them at all. I'd love to see how the friggin' Pegasus starter deck compares to the structure decks these days. Honestly, structure decks being mediocre decks for new players to pick up to experience the strategy it offers and then improve and personalise over time is far better than an optimised tier 1 deck out of the box.

I actually combined three of these rage decks (give or take a few cards), and it was really good - even up to recently it was okay enough to occasionally take wins against 3x monarch structure decks(so remained relevant for like 9 years in casual play). from memory some main plays were fossil dig - search frostsaurus - flip fossil excavation - discard frost - bring back frost, rinse repeat. OR fossil dig gilasaurus early, special summon, get saurapod or dark dri, or double special summon and tribute super conducto. Jur world meant + 300 so frostasaurus which just KEPT coming back would have 2900, and dri would have 2700 + piercing dmg, which could be quite intimidating. Frostsaur play actually was terrifying because pretty much every turn i could churn one onto the field. The other play which was super effective was survival instinct - remove dinos from GY and get LP, then bring on tyranno infinity with ridiculous ATK and in a heartbeat either rek ur opponent or (my personal favourite) get magic cylindered to death by your own 13000 atk infinity. Babycera was pretty good if used with super conductors effekkkt, or as a discard here and there to get some extra muscle on the field or even a hyper hammerhead or black steggo for some basic defence. Big evolution pill could be really clunky and i didn't really like it, but if you saved it and used it right you could do some bad man things with it, and today it's pretty useful. The rage deck was super slow, but yugioh used to be really slow - back when games were more like a boxing matches/ games of chess and really only a few things would happen each turn. Now days you can do so much shit per turn and bring forward multiple lvl 8's with banging effects and special summoning has gotten out of control and searching has basically destroyed the old game. like, back then - think about it - people used to wait multiple turns to go from silent magician lvl 4 to lvl 8 - the entire game was just slower. This was not in any way a bad structure deck, it just doesn't fit into the new game of doing what would take 5 turns in one turn and ending games in the first few turns instead of having a really tense back and forwards. compared to 3x fury, rage doesn't stand a chance against the ovipators_ ultimate conduc + petidon bringing out super conduc, but obviously, look how many years have passed, ffs they have made cards in the past like skull servant and Misairuzame (5 stars, normal 1400/1600), and flame swordsman like wut. The game has changed, that's all.

The hassleberry event with ultimate tyranno in duel links right now is kinda neat. Evols in duel links so far are far from the meta in game however I like the addition of ultimate tyranno. Considering the 3000 attack, being able to attack each of the opponent's monsters once per turn, and that duel links has faster duels with less lp and monster cards, it can easily clear out the field, making ultimate tyranno a pretty nice beater in duel links. Need a deck focused around it though cause it has no protection from effects.

I remember really enjoying Dinosaur's rage as a kid, but it was mostly the monster cards and a few of the magic cards. And what really kills me is that if the whole point of this deck was "get your best beaters on the field quickly" and yet after printing Legendary Ocean they didn't think to give Jurassic World do something more useful like "reduced the levels of all Dinosaur monsters on your hand and on the field by 2" that way it would make your strongest monsters summonable with one tribute and be useful aside from a generic ATK boost...

Well, it might be an underwhelming deck but at the same time... I actually managed to win a junior's local with it 10-11 years back after I did some optimization and removed some of the weaker cards. Final match was against another kid using a wave motion cannon burn deck with tribute walls. All I'll say is Black Tyranno and Hyper Hammerhead hard countered his deck and it felt so rewarding to win with my favorite card type (at the time).

I used to summon Infinity on the field usually with 0 o 1000 ATK only and Survival Instinct face down, several times people attaked thinking they were about to win and I activated that card to gain LP and increase the ATK of Infinity up to 10'000. On my new Dinosaur Deck I'm still using Super Conductor Tyranno, but only because it's easier to summon with petiteranodon and making a "combo" with Black Ptera. Yes, weird, but it works

You forgot to mention how this Structure has one of the BEST Trap Cards of all time: Goblin Out of the Frying Pan. Pay 500 Life Points. Negate the activation of a Spell Card and return it to the owner's hand.

Thing is, I always considered this deck a comeback artist deck, the idea being that you play intentionally "badly" in order to to bring out Tyranno Infinity with the highest attack you could, it was missing a few key cards that could make it more viable, usually any discard magic/traps, Graceful Charity is a good example, as I always assumed "Structure" meant exactly that, a base deck to structure a new deck out of, not something you use on it's own.

Honestly, I gave up trying to summon those boss monsters, and stick with banishing effects to buff infinity tyrranno. The only few times I was able to summon them was using Fossil Excavation to discard my boss monster, then special summon it from the grave.

Here are some of my combos I want to share with you for this structure deck! Black Tryanno>Sebek's Blessing = Free 2600 LP! Black Tyranno>Mesmoric Control = Assuming the only cards your opponent controls are defense position monsters you can attack directly again the next turn assuming your opponent doesn't summon a monster in Atk position or set any spell/trap cards. Gilasarus>Hunting Instinct = Special Summon 1 free monster from your hand! Assuming you haven't normal summoned the same turn yet, you can potentially tribute summon both monsters for a level 7 or higher monster from your hand or 1 monster for a level 5 or higher monster from your hand! Jurassic World>Volcanic Eruption>Babycerarasaurus = You wipe the entire field, then Babycerasaurus's effect allows you to special summon 1 level 4 or lower Dinosaur-type monster from your deck to your field once it gets destroyed and sent to the graveyard by Volcanic eruption. You can choose from Hyper Hammerhead, Black Stego, Sabersaurus, Kabazauls, Miracle Jurrasic Egg, or plenty more options in the deck! Super Conductor Tyranno>Black Ptera = Once you tribute Black Ptera for Super Conductor Tyranno's effect to inflict 1000 points of damage, Black Ptera returns to your hand after it was tributed and sent to the graveyard! Now you can use it again the next turn to inflict another 1000 points of damage! And again.. and again! Big Evolution Pill>Black Ptera = Once again, Black Ptera will return to your hand once tributed for the cost of activating Big Evolution Pill. Dark Driceratops/Mad Sword Beast>Mesmoric Control = This combo makes sure that your opponent can't change the battle position of their monsters for the next turn and assuming they were in defense position you can use Dark Driceratops & Mad Sword Beast to inflict piercing battle damage during damage calculation! Tyranno Infinity>Survival Instinct = Lots of ATK points for Tyrnno Infinity!

Fun fact about Super Conductor Tyranno. It, aside from the two Kaijus; is the only monster with more than 3000 ATK that isn't a nomi monster or doesn't have a strictly negative effect. So yeah, that's something. It also looks fucking badarse!

Good Dinosaur cards weren't printed until Dinosmasher's Fury. UCT and Oviraptor are what really tie the whole archetype together

Wasn't there a combo in this deck with (iirc) Gilasaurus and Hunting Instinct? Use gila's effect to get your opponent to special summon something from their grave, activate hunting instict to instantly get a big monster out. It's not a good combo by any means, but I thought it was worth a mention.

Black tyrano is actually the worst because the opponent could summon monsters to overpower it. Since the dinosaurs rely on beatdown having a only average attack is a huge problem. That and the effect was basically non-existent since the conditions are impossible to set up. Super conductor tyrano was pretty good because it was pretty much impossible to overpower it. The effect isn't actually that bad because it is an answer to locking which was fairly common. If they didn't have that they would be very vulnerable to lockdown. However the best is indeed ultimate Tyrano for it's multiple attacks.

Thankfully it's upgraded counterpart, Dinomasher's Fury made Dinosaurs badass. Though some originals really don't need an Upgraded Counterpart like Fury of the Deep.

Trying to think of how to fix Super Conductor Tyranno? Maybe if you could inflict 1000 life points of damage once per turn by banishing a dinosaur monster in your graveyard? And it could still attack that turn? OR that same cost, but that lets it attack directly?I don't think either would be really great, but it's SOMETHING. And it'd tie into Tyranno Infinity?

This deck is good combined with dinosaurs fury, combined with black Pytera could cause a lot of damage because black Pytera goes back to your hand every single time you tribute it with super conductor Tyranno

Are We Not Going To Mention Duels Where Much Longer In Those Days. Like Most Duels Lasted 15- 20 minutes .So decks that took time to play where not a problem at a all in the eras. Theres a reason they only had like 50 members at The old YCS tournaments.
