Please react to a movie called How To Make Millions Before Grandma Dies. It's a Thai movie, it centered around a young male who, after received news that his grandma got diagnosed with cancer, decided to take care of his grandma while he himself trying to secure his inheritance from his grandma. This movie is a seriously tear-jerker movie, full of family-themed lessons and, I can dare to say, this movie is a lot better than any family movies that you've ever seen or reacted before.

I took my sons (11 and 7) to see this in theaters and it resonated with my youngest especially. He deals with his own kind of athletics related anxiety and was in tears during Riley’s anxiety attack. He told me after that he felt that way sometimes (he sets HIGH expectations for himself) and since watching this movie he hasn’t had as many emotional outbursts and breakdowns when it comes to his personal athletic performance. I was an overachieving kid and the casual comment the dad made about scholarship money hit home hard. Riley’s parents, like my own, are far from overbearing and incredibly encouraging, but we don’t realize how such genuine compliments and attempts at encouragement can apply invisible pressures to our psyche ❤

Pixar hit hard with this one. 'Maybe this is what happens when you grow up: you feel less joy.' 'I'm not good enough.' Anxiety spiralling out of control I feel like this movie and Puss in Boots 2 did a pretty good job showing anxiety and panic attacks for both kids and adults. That, “Maybe this is what happens when you grow up. You feel less joy” line hits everyone. I think together these movies show that as a child your happiness & emotions come from your parents, because as a young kid you have so little control & all you can do is react. As you grow up & learn, you start to gain control of your emotions, and now that you have to be the one in charge, sometimes it’s harder to create & find your own joy. That’s why I love the difference of the endings of both movies - going from “Sadness, Riley needs you” to “Joy, Riley wants you.”

I was so excited watching this movie pointing out all the therapy beats I noticed, but during the anxiety attack scene I broke down. Acceptance brings you peace and lets other emotions shines through.

I really can’t express the amount of amazement, shock, and realization that hit me the day I first saw this in theaters. I had a therapy session earlier in the afternoon and talked through the exact situation of anxiety with my therapist - and what’s crazier is that she used the same phrase “Anxiety can’t choose who you are”. As soon as Joy said that line in the film, I literally broke out in tears. Luckily my husband was right there to hold my hand, as he knew exactly what I was thinking and going through. As a newly married person who just moved across the state from my family to start a life with my partner and is in the process of changing career paths, my anxiety really is on the high end these days. But it’s films like this that help ground me and remind me that I’m human and it’s okay to have these emotions (but not okay to let it control my life). It's important to recognize that Anxiety wasn't a villain, but rather an antagonist. Anxiety was only acting as she was made to be, and in the way she felt was best for Riley. But letting Anxiety run the show will only lead to doom, and letting Riley grow and figure out how to control her emotions and accept her faults as lessons is the best message for people going through those young growing pains.

(some ppl call her a villain) cant wait for a sequel! i want at list 4 more sequels at different stages of her life! 58:39 this is where the words arent the same. Envy is wanting something someone else has. Jealousy is wanting something someone else has, and denying it to others (taking it away from others, common in love plots - usually the antagonist doesn't just want "a boyfriend like hers" they want to "take that specific boyfriend from someone else as their own")

Man let’s talk about it. What I have to say about joy in relation to getting older is: as I’ve gotten older, the things that bring me joy have changed. One example is a sunny Sunday morning, with a cup of coffee watching my son ride his bike and we have no other plans. Or a smoked brisket my dad spent the weekend making (Texas here). Getting older just gives so much more perspective and lets us appreciate and find joy in the little things.
@VestigialDukeАй бұрын
Joy's line " that what happen when you get older, you feel less joy" i think is often misinterpreted. That's her big moment of doubt (known as "the dark time of the soul" in screenwriting) later we see when she is called by Riley how she has more mature ways of expressing herself, as a feeling of peace or serenity. This is beautifully shown in her acting while operating the console. As in the beginning and the first movie she is rough and explosive. As in the end she is gentle. It's not as if the movie says that you'll never be happy again, but more so that you must find joy in the small things.

The fact that Anxiety just takes over and goes into overdrive felt so real to me, as a life long overthinker. That scene with the anxiety attack hit really hard. It was such a great depiction, I felt like I was right there with her and I cried in the theaters. And I like that in the end, it seems that Riley is much more in control of herself rather than being controlled by her emotions (like when she calls Joy to the console), which is in line with growing up - most people learn to better handle and regulate their emotions, and to push through with your morals and beliefs despite what you feel sometimes.

I don’t think we have less joy. I think it’s nuanced. As kids, there’s a purity and innocence to joy that does go away as you grow. But the mesh of emotions I think makes the moments of joy more intense. And greater responsibility opens the door for greater and stronger feelings. So joy changes over time, and we can certainly miss those past versions of joy. But it’s important to realize that we still have joy. Just in different forms.

I remember reading a comment awhile ago that suggested that envy is small because when you feel envy, you may feel small, inferior or lacking. Embarrassment is large because when you're embarrassed, you can feel "big" as in you may feel as if your mistakes are magnified or larger than they realistically appear to be. This has really stuck to me. It's a cool perspective on envy and embarrassment. I personally also loved how they subtly explored being too positive can lead to being delusional hahaha.

Absolutely loved this film and it absolutely triggered my anxiety and 2nd-hand embarrassment hard. And the “you feel less joy” made weep so hard (i wanted to bawl loudly but was with my younger cousin and didn’t want to scare her). Anxiety in the chair was one of my favorite things as well as joy helping anxiety step-back and tackle what tasks can actually be done. As for oak’s comment/question on envy as something that occurs before 13, I think it’s supposed to be about the comprehension of those emotions. As we’ve seen Sadness and Fear theoretically functioned as anxiety before anxiety appeared and so envy I would say is a subset of disgust and anger/sadness. And so the new emotions aren’t about suddenly existing, but about being complex enough for Riley to understand that the mix of emotions can become new ones like envy. This is just my interpretation of why the newer emotions came later despite most of them existing way before 13. Loved this so much and how hard it hit: eeep! Also so many therapists were consulted for this film (as well as the 1st) and whatever was advised was actually used!!

Inside Out 2 is also another educational movie about mental health. Many things and lessons I have learned when I first watched at the cinema: 1. When Joy said, "Maybe this is what happens when you grow up. you become less happy." It is a painful and true realization when we are growing up through age and life. But as we grow up, it doesn't matter when we grow up, we always find happiness in every tunnel of darkness and misery. That's what Riley feels when her anxiety began to fade, knowing that her friends can still be friends with her even in separation 2. Friends, whether new or old, are always still there for you even when you are not there physically. You may find new friends along the way, but nothing especially new friendships can replace your old ones. In distance or not physical, friends are always gonna be there for you spiritually. 3. It is really understandable why Riley would act as a jerk because you don't want to be kick out or not be good enough in front of everyone. My best advice for that is not everyone gets to fit in because not everyone is as good as everyone and everyone stays on the same level on to each other. No matter how much of an effort you put or trying to prove in front of anyone that you are capable of being in, there will be times where you'll be not ready. So if you didn't make it on anything that you desired you want to be in, don't be so hard and be upset on yourself because there is always next time 4. Anxiety may be a villain but not an actual one, she means well and wants the best out of Riley. Anxiety really made the best description between fear and her. Anxiety is something that you're scared or aftaid to think of while Fear is something that you're scared physically and anything seen. Anxiety are just second thoughts or "what ifs". What ifs are just throughts depending on good and bad of thinking of what's going to happen next. 5. I would say to a person who has anxiety or panic attacks is to calm down (breath slowly). Calm down can make you relax from being panicked. 6. Friends will make the first move who understands and forgives you unexpectedly just like Bree and Grace. They both know that Riley was a jerk to them but, despite that, they are still their friend. I would say, Riley's friends are not just normal friends but her sisters that she always wanted. Friends who forgive you unexpectedly will make you think and convinced that your friends are true friends that you wanted to maintain to be healthy If you are asking me, Inside Out are movies that are so educational with important pov and lessons of the importance and the existence of mental health. I would say if there were be a World Mental Health day, this would be a good movie to watch it for everyone. Movies like this should be in schools both public and private. Many kids and teens should know this of the importance of mental health Mental Health is just as a priority as our physical health of our body

Everytime i've watched this movie, I always tear up when Riley is having an Anxiety attack, cause I know all too well what that feels like. You guys hit the nail on the head in saying 2 things: This movie is very powerful and that this is not just a kids movie.

I hated Anxiety as much as I hate it in real life 😂

I have spent 25 years in the presence of these kiddZ, as teacher, friend, helper. The movie hits home, and I shed tears during 1&2, but not while I'm with them. I know what they are going through.

At the foot of Joy's bunk is a small night table with an origami Pizza Planet truck on it. In Slashblades lightstream is what looks like sparkles, but really are tiny, beating hearts.

Hi guys, if you're searching for the next animated movie to react to, I highly recommend 'Flushed away' - it's a total underrated gem and worth a try! Done by Dreamworks and Aardman (Wallace & Grommit) and featuring the voices of Hugh Jackman, Kate Winslet, Ian McKellan, Andy Serkins, Bill Nighy and Jean Reno, to name a few 😉 I would be so happy to see you watch this movie, enjoy it and have a good laugh! Greetings from Germany

Maybe I’ve been playing too many Supermassive games…but I’m realizing a choice-based video game where you control Riley’s emotions and get through different scenarios would be such a fun game for kids/teens 😅
@SandJosiephАй бұрын
Or a game where you make choices as Riley and have to play as her emotions to make those choices come to fruition. Fail and Riley’s life could spiral out of control. The trick is making choices that are within the players current skill level so they don’t overwork themselves.

When I watched this my first thought was “I can’t wait for the guys to react to this”😂😂 man I wish they could react to Adventure Time but it’s so long

This movie wrecked me. It hit so hard. I took my kids to see this and the whole time I was a bit upset. My older son noticed it, he's 7 and he had no idea why I was upset. I did my best to explain, but in the end I also said you'll understand when you get older. He sat in my lap for the last half of the movie and I felt better. It's such a master piece of a movie ❤

The anxiety attack is what got me watery eyes. Especially being able to relate to it because I have anxiety disorder.

I don't think I've ever wanted to hug an animated character more than when Riley was having an anxiety attack. We really do love our girl Riley.

The fact that they picker Maya Hawk (Robin in Stranger Things) in my opinion was a perfect choice for anxiety ❤ The overthinking part in particolar 😅

Anxiety is important as an emotion as it protects us from dangerous situations, which is why fear says they were going to get on well...too much anxiety ends with a panic attack and with that comes racing and intrusive thoughts which is why anxiety lost control and was at high speed as it really does feel like that during a panic attack.

from Toy Story to now, look at how far the animation has come!

I still love that they dont portrait Anxiety as a villian of the movie, but rather a bit missguided like how Joy was in the first movie. Both Joy and Anxiety mean well for Riley, but both of them learn that its ok and necessary to let other emotions help.
@LadyVenomWayАй бұрын
Although the first one is still my fave, this was very enjoyable, as someone who suffers from anxiety, it was really interesting how the presented that emotion and showed how much damage it could do.

I can only imagine a third Inside Out movie where Riley's about to die and the emotions say goodbye to each other.😢😢❤❤ Loved this reaction from Fiji!❤❤

I went to see it with my best friend and her daughter. I loved it, I laughed and cried. There were so many kids and it was great to see it with them. I did as I said cried, because I am dealing with a lot. it hit close to home. my best friend did not really understand why I cried, but we are different in that way. So it makes sense to my that not everyone feels the same. But for me this movie hit close. Even at 35 years old.

I can create the most ridiculous scenarios but i felt sadness more than anxiety. Maybe it was anxiety but in the way of having a panic attack. This movie made me feel so anxious for Riley sitting in the theater. I was feeling what she was feeling.

I had a bad panic attack once, this definitely hit that accuracy. Powerful movie, definitely.

I watch this a little over a week ago and LOVED it. It's better than the first one imo. While watching it I was like " NO DON'T DO THAT!". I made a lot of the same choices Rilly made as a teenager. I cried at the end when Rilly was having her anxiety attack.

Really great movie. Watched with my lil sister and had a great time. Only issue is the so called friends knowing the entire time they were choosing to a different school and then wait to ambush her in the car to tell her smh. Love what the movie did with anxiety
