Jokes aside Ace's death was perfect for his character. Not only did he die on his own terms but he always died fighting someone who disrespected those important to him. Ridiculous in hindsight? Somewhat but both Garp and Shanks state that Rodger would've done the same thing which is what I love about Ace's end. His entire life he ran from becoming his father but consistently did things that Rodger would've done.

Coating a ship is only possible within the area of marineford/ sabaody, requiring the substance substance produced in that land, if you leave then the bubbles will just pop. So, Whitebeard couldn't attack Impel Down with coated ships.

Also, whitebeard knew going to Marineford would be the end of the current era. Firstly he went to save Ace, clearly stating his dream of making him Pirate King, possibly thinking Ace was Joyboy. He knew going in if he chose to engage the marines on their field, he'd be required to give his life in the Vanguard while his crew escaped, but like the meme whitebeard found those terms acceptable. Likely planning on opening Ace's era by turning marineford into rubble on the world stage. And lastly, I suspect whitebeard thought that his death, along with all his crew sacrificed would of pressed Aces Haki to bloom to its full potential. Like how Ace's death ended up fueling Luffy's resolve to never lose anyone again.

MANY more men than a buster call, more vice admirals than a buster call, and the actual admirals, so I would say it was a lot more destructive than any of the buster calls we've seen.

I think the reason the world government didn’t go out of its way to kill luffy when he was young and weak is simply hubris. They can’t imagine a future where they lose, so they overlook things that can defeat them. They overlooked vegapunk and now he’s about to expose some super secret shit to the world and they’re scrambling to prevent it. They overlooked luffy and he awakened the Nika fruit despite their last ditch effort to stop it. They’re literally too arrogant to make the decisions that make the most sense. They don’t even consider being proactive in these situations because who thinks the bugs on the ground are a threat?

There is a chance that shanks was able to gather information about the 20 year prophacy from phople like madam shirly(fishman fortune teller), but not necessarily her, which allowed him to move some pieces around or fortold that he was meant to do it. Now even though yaasop was know as the bes shot in the west doesnt particuarly give merit to hunt him down specifically over any of ther other blues (and remember that the west blue is considered the weakest) so he most likely was looking for him for another reason

@@lucky4f967 you know what man, I agree with you, but only on the pretense that whatever shanks is doing, he would know something about lineage factor OR something about the will of D. if he knew about the will of d, or for example, if he knew usopp is a descendent of noland.(which is a popular theory) Since shanks is not a D member, it would progress his character more if he was the gatekeeper of the new age, where the main role progenitor of the new age is a D. Edit: A lot of people would agree that Shanks is only going after the one piece now bc Luffy has awakened and has become an emperor of the sea. This would suggest that maybe Shanks was doing things behind the screens to make sure that luffy would be the one to become pirate king. With him only going after it, when luffy is at his peak and when he knows Blackbeard is the opposite of luffy

Ace dying the way he died was important cuz it was Luffy’s fault and it was need to show Luffy how much danger he was putting his crew and himself in. It showed Luffy that he wasn’t as strong as he thought he was and it showed him that his recklessness can and will get people he loves killed.
