I just wanna correct you on something, The Kailh Box Switches aren't in fact copies of Cherry MX's, They use a different mechanism to induce tactility in their clicky and tactile switches. The whites(clicky) use a metal wire(reffered to as a "click bar") which the slider hooks onto and then releases to create tactility while the browns have a pip in the slider to create tactility. This unique to the Kailh Box family of switches as far as I know.

This was a great review! I appreciate that you pointed out some of the rough spots other reviewers glossed-over. Still - I absolutely love this thing - typing on one right now! That arrow key tap layer is the tits. Switch nerd here; Gaterons and Kail Box switches are both smoother than Cherries in my experience, but the Gats have a little more play / wobble as a trade-off. In my opinion, the Kailh Box switches are better than Cherries in every way being smoother, more stable, and in the case of tactile and clicky switches, more crisp and tactile. As for the plug / sleep issue; if you set your system not to send power through USB when asleep / off, that should stop it from happening.

The Anne Pro 2 was my first mechanical kbd ever and I love it, I havent had any deal breaking issues yet, but one thing I dislike is the unoptimized software. Yes I understand that Obins is not a huge well known company/brand and I get it but somethings are kinda weird like the translations, functions of the software, and the controls. It's workable but just needs to be polished up! One thing i dislike about the One 2 Mini is the arrow keys, once I discovered the TAP function on the AP2 I didnt hesitate to choose it, ( and yes I know there are tkls with arrow keys but a 60% with rgb, mech switches, arrow keys, bluetooth, and an all around great package is a steal!!)

I was able to fix the issue with having to plug/unplug the cable on wakeup/powerup by turning on a power saving option on my mobo bios. Basically you have to cut the power to your computer when it's off entirely, instead of letting it have the low voltage that;s usually there when it's "off".

Also, to add to this. If you plan to use the keyboard on mac OS, pick the Anne Pro. The Ducky is clearly designed for windows and offers little to no considerations to mac users. You are going to run into so much trouble trying to configure the Ducky. I am primarily a mac users and here are some of the things I wish I knew before I bought the Ducky: PROBLEM #1 The command and option keys are switched. Many keyboards actually behave this way (by default the command key is actually mapped to the windows key, whereas mac users are more used to it being mapped to where the Alt key is). People usually get around this by going into the os setting and modifying the keys on the os level and have it switched. But there is a problem! In mac os, to cycle between windows under the same application, you would do command + tilde. I don't know how to do that on the ducky if I have alt mapped to command because tilde is on the fn layer, and alt + fn actually activates another layer on the ducky (it actually turns the tilde key into "check profile"). PROBLEM #2 The two alt keys on either side of the space bar is hard coupled. This means you cannot map the left alt to command and the right alt to options. Whatever you map the left alt to is also what the right alt is mapped to. There are numerous applications shortcuts where options and control are pressed simultaneously. Taking away that flexibility just kills the keyboard completely if you're using it for productivity purposes. Feel free to correct me if I got any of this wrong. I am actually actively looking for a solution to salvage my Ducky.

Good honest review, but I just want to point out that the Kailh Box switches are not copies of cherry. They use the same cherry form factor so that they're compatible with the same keycaps, PCBs and backplates, but the actual mechanical mechanism for the switch is their own unique design, which is part of why they've made a bit of a splash with keyboard nerds. I think taking absolutely everything into account, I'm leaning more towards the ducky. My only complaints about it are the crappy case, and I'm also not overly wrapped in the arrow key placement on it. It'd be fine if the Fn key was on the left of the board, but with it being on the right it looks like it would be awkward. Anyways, you just earned yourself a new sub!
@badseedtech5 жыл бұрын
Great info, thank you man! The case is a sticking point, yes. I am hearing that other people's copies do not have that issue. I have another one slated for delivery soon and I'll update everybody to see if it squeaks as well. And the arrow key placement IS awkward af but I have a plan....keep a sharp eye out for Sunday's video.

Best b-roll in the biz, my friend. Absolutely stellar. I would've expected to see 5 Million subs on this channel. Killer soundtrack too! Oh, also, great review. I really dig the white Anne Pro 2.

That product-intro editing is hella lit. Also, nice voice. Subbed, my dude.

Looks like the Bluetooth function of the Anne pro 2 can help in cable management ☺️

lots of things have changed in this keyboard, first of all, the keycaps were swapped for a normal keycap set. As for the bluetooth, i used it and there were no issues for me whatsoever, they also made it so that whenits used via bluetooth the rgb would turn off when you are not typing on the board, as soon as you start typing, the rgb comes back on. More rgb modes were added, only available via the software though. rgb does get on when u turn off ur computer and turn it back on. However, you WILL need to install the software for some of these features to work on your keyboard. I did have some issues tryna install the latest version of the software, i had to look up a video and use the link they provided to install the latest version.

Who would down vote this...amazing video! Great editing as always. I currently have an Anne Pro 2 my favorite keyboard by far. All the issues you're having on your board is non existent on mine...maybe you got a bad board. Cheers =)

Glad to hear yours performs better.

I have a ducky and all i did was make the alt, windows, ctrl and shift keys on the right side of the board into arrow keys with macros. the trick video you made with the AHK was pretty good, but if you pressed the buttons quickly, the script stopped working and somehow made the entire board go haywire. so I would just prefer to go with macros on the ducky.
