It actually has a light sensor built into it. That's what the little dot at the bottom of the screen is. it will auto dim the screen and turn your headlight on (if you have one tied to the controller) automatically. Really nice feature!

Just bought a bafang 48v 750w with this display, Hence why im looking at this vid, lol, Feels like a little kid waiting for xmas now i bought it, I got a really nice carerra hellcat lmt edition 29 inch, Green an black colours are amazing, Looking forward to different travelling, I got a 1600w monster scooter see, So be kool to see what difference is on hills ect, As the 750w is 1500w at peak, Isnt it, lol.... Cant wait to actually get the bafang motor now, lol....

I recently got the DPC 14 for the features it showed. Especially the range indicator. Unfortunately it doesn’t seem to be calculating properly as it keeps rising until the high 400 and then it stops and resets itself to 1klm and stays there. The only way to start it again is to turn off the display and back on but it keeps doing the same. Any input on this situation would be greatly appreciated.

Good video. Do you know if you can extend the cable for the push button control. I have a beach cruiser with a BBSHD and ape hanger bars, and the original monochrome display had a hard wired cable from the display to the control pad. It was too short to reach to the grip so I put one of those smaller displays that mount near the grip with the button integrated. I want that 850c display but obviously want the assist buttons near the grip.

It relates to whatever wheel you have the sensor installed on. By default that is the rear wheel but I guess it could be fitted to the front with some imagination.

Helpful video but I do have one question. I just purchase a 850c colour display for my Voltbike Yukon. Everything is perfect except for the odometer. The odometer reads 497,715 total km and I can’t figure out how to zero it out so I can start with a zero Km. Any help would be appreciated.

setting a password on start up only seems to effect the display, the bike still works when no password has been inputted , to me this kinda makes having a password set useless, someone can still jump on your bike switch it on and ride away at full power

Is there a controller that allows you to set the motors output power in watts? I would like to get a 1000w motor and still keep the class 1 or 2 designation by limiting both continuous output power (500w) and by speed sensor to 32 km/h then when off-road I could set it back to no restrictions?

2 years ago i bought a Bafang middlemotor with this 850C Display. The Discription said its a 48V System. Later i recognized that i could change the settings to a diffrent voltage. When my 48V Battery was done i bought a 36V battery and changed the settings to 36V. But the System still thinks there is a 48V battery. And because the 36V battery has fully loaded only 38V the Display/System thinks the battery is low in voltage and doesn't allows to start the motor. I tryed the reset to factory settings and changed again to 36V. Even so the system accepts this change by showing 36V in the main menu it still thinks there should be a 48V Battery and shuts of the motor. What can i do? Bafang support service is not anwsering my mails.

You need to set your low voltage shut off ( Low battery protection[V] ) to a lower value than your battery. If it's a 36 battery your shut off voltage should be around 29v give or take. Hopefully you have a BMS installed on your new battery to limit the discharge. For a 48v battery the low voltage shut off is set to 41v by factory settings and will cut off power to the motor.

when I brake at higher speeds the display shows me a red exclamation mark and when I want to start again it no longer accepts gas. The display shows km but the bike is standing, as if holding the brake and the red exclamation mark is still on the display.

Does the 850c allow you to set a power level limit - like suppose you want to use a 48V battery with a 250 Watt motor and keep the power under 250W so the motor will not overheat. ?

You need to buy the controller programming cable and use a laptop to change the power of each pas lvl. The cables are around $10 on Amazon. You unplug the screen disconnect your battery then plug the cable in where the screen plugs in.

Ah okay, I was bench testing so the speed sensor wasn't seeing any counts at the wheel. Got my bike up and running last night but it too fast for the headlight. I overrun the headlight around 25-30 mph. Now I need to find a way to keep the chain on when on a gravel road with bumps.

Yeah, the chain hops off the front sprocket when I stop pedaling. I just took it for a 10 mile ride and I could watch it hop off everytime that I quit pedaling while in pedal assist mode. I read today on the forums about the Lekkie and the Luna eclipse sprockets are the solution for the bafang sprocket.
