I've owned two Bosch bikes within four years of each other and I've had to return both of them because they make my knees swell, i've never had an issue with my knees before. I bought a bafang kit put it on my hard tail, Zero issues with the knees,. I believe the issue is, with the Bosch, after you pass about 15 kilometers an hour you really have to put effort in, So much effort with the weight of the bike that my knees swell up. I also have an analog Trek Domane bike that I ride 60K route all the time and I've never had an issue with my knees, Whatever it is With the Bosch my body, mainly knees do not like it

There is a Bafang 120Nm motor and battery combo for $450CAD and it sits with the cranks instead of the wheels and it gets up to speed really quick with the 120Nm torque

More torque doesn't mean much since mtb riders are about getting exercise with some assistance. I tend to stay in eco mode anyway. Rather have quietness, good software/intuitive use, good interface and light weight.

I'm a total noob in electric bikes in general. I'm thinking of buying a Bafang kit, because I don't have much money, I need to climb steep slopes a few times a week. Please suggest a cheap kit compatible to the Bafang M620, it could be the cheapest simple steel frame, I only need the motor to climb steep rough terrain of my town which has many hills here in west Mexico.

If you are in Europe or various other countries with similar laws, you can legally only ride a pedelec without a license and insurance if it's got no more than a 250 watt motor and restricted to 25kph.

I cycle on a normal bike time, I just wanted something for a little short trips that have to go up steep hills, i've had to return two Bosch bikes because they make my knees swell, a problem I've never had a knee problem ever before, I bought a bafang kit, Put it on a hard tail first of all its more silent than a Bosch, second of all it's more powerful than a Bosch, third of all I have zero knee swelling, my buddy has a bafang kit With over 20,000 kilometers on it, no issues, bafang all the way
