looks like you need to combine 2 passes from the rake. simply rake clockwise then counterclockwise or up and down the field. it will put more hay in a windrow and make the baler work better.

Great video Brock you have a sweet setup there. The rake and baler are very nice work really well. That would be really cool to have that setup if a person could make enough money. I'll be lookin for your video about the money end of it. Thanks for sharing be safe have fun

Looks like the rake is set a little low; it’s kicking up dirt. Should have the rake teeth set just off the ground. I agree with others that you should be making double windrows.

I thought that was pretty unusual to see guys baling hay this late even in Wisconsin

I like this combo rake that you have. I never thought I’d need to bail hay, but family tensions are leaving 40 acres of prime orchard grass and hay just growing out of control. The thought of all the equipment I would need scared me off, but if I can use my 32 hp tractor to ted and bail hay. Then perhaps I’ll look into what these smaller attachments will set me back and see if it could be profitable or not. Thanks again, Brock 👍

Just a heads up, Having and using the tools will not cure the family tension, but exacerbate it, the same family that is ok with just letting it grow now, will conveniently overlook your investment in implements, and your labor, fuel, and machine maintenance, and demand their share of the bale sales profit. And will be shocked when you mention that it was only possible because of your equipment and labor.

@@rodgerneeb301 , thanks for the heads up. I live on a multi-family farm that was recently split into 100 acre lots after my grandparents passed away last year. One of the 4 families isn’t playing nicely and took all the equipment and left the rest of us to fend for ourselves. We’re trying to handle things in house and not involve the police, but they’re not making things easy and have no idea how much trouble they’re really in with the equipment thefts and illegal dwellings on their property. We’ve all lost so much over these past three years. I never expected family to be so cruel, especially when now we need to come together the most. It’s just so sad to see how things have transpired.

@lordchaa1598 Was there a will, or a probate court? Seems like an attorney should at least be consulted, and see what their thoughts are on the matter. If the entire 40 acres of hay is on your 100 acres, you should be able to do as you see fit without anyone else's input or expectations. In which case I would go with used utility sized tractors, not compact. An old John Deere 4020 is more capable and cheaper than a new compact, and there is an abundance of used hay equipment available too. Check Tractorhouse it's like a farmers classifieds ads.

@@rodgerneeb301 , I love the 2040’s, in fact that’s one of the tractors they stole. There is a Will. We were supposed to have businesses that benefited one another. Then one family decided they would just do whatever they wanted. Their mother (my aunt) passed away from cancer and her husband is a prick. He involved his children (my cousins) in his crimes and we don’t want them to get into trouble. However, they keep making everyone’s lives miserable on the farm and there is only so much we can take.

Hi Brock, can you give us more details on that baler? I make hay with a small square baler and after watching your videos, I'm now considering trying out that round baler. I was impressed on the looks of those nice bales. Would you know the approximate weight of the bale? Thanks, Chris from Virginia.
