Funny on my 17 ultra, hd voided my warranty on transmission, and then installed a tc 2016 dd7 , and had to reinstall a 17 because the neutral indent is opposite up instead of down!!

I previously had an S&S 124 with 160hp, I kept blowing all the teeth of off 3rd gear with the stock transmission. This was prior to Baker completing the Grudge Box as Bert stated he still had a couple of prototypes on the street testing and wasn't sure when it would be sold. I couldn't wait so I diassembled the bike, sold all the parts and traded it in for a new one and had the stage 5 tire shredder kit installed - dynoed out at roughly 120hp and no problems until the M8 came out, now guys are keeping up with cams, pipe and a tune so I need to step up again. I'm thinking T124 crate motor but I'm worried again about the trans - two trains of thought so I wanted your opinion: Grudge Box or DD7? Any...

I have question for your tech. I am an Iron Butt guy that has competed 5 times in the Hoka Hey Motorcycle Challenge. I am looking to keep power but I *NEED* my gas mileage. I will be rebuilding my M8 RGU 114 into a 117. Baker folks say use the grudge box instead of the DD7. Do you find lower RPMs using the grudge box? How much diff do you see in lower RPMs in your opinion? Remember I am one of those Iron Butt Association long distance endurance ride guys. I don't need *MAD* power but enough for the mountains but I need low RPMs for cooler engine temps and gas mileage.

The BEST thing I ever did for gas milage was a Trask Performance turbo kit. If I could start my build all over again I would've just did that from the start. It's so much more efficient in my opinion and from what I've seen documenting my rides. 😬

And definitely lower RPMs using a GrudgeBox, unfortunately I can't recommend one based on my experiences with Baker. I also do not like how clunky it is. If I could go back I would've probably just got a transmission from A1 Cycles.

My dd7 only dropped rpm by 300, but baker can set your ratio as you need, have your mechanic figure best rpm at your avg speed for your build set up! Ride safe, have more fun per mile, just my .02

Was the shifter Paw the only issue that you've had with that baker?

So, Mike…if I understood correctly, was it a defective transmission? Was that dead space a defective box?

It was just the shifter pawl that needed to be replaced. The one they sent us was defective. It had too much space between that spring we showed. So it caused the bike to not shift properly because of all the dead space. Baker sent us a new one with a tight spring on it and now it shifts perfectly. 🤘🏼

Hi Mike We recently installed the baker grudge box (N1) in my RoadGlide CVO 2022, and it seem the gear sensor is not detecting what gear is at. Is this normal? Can we fix this? Any suggestions will be welcome. Thanks! Luciano

I just had the grudge box installed on my 2018 road glide. I feel as though the shifting is fine however I can only get a gear reading on my speedo for gears 1 and 2. Once I shift to 3 and 4 there is no reading and then when I’m in 5th gear it reads 6th on the speedo and when I’m in 6th gear I get no reading. My cruise control will not work unless I have a reading on the gear on the speedo. Any help would greatly appreciated! Thanks

I would recommend a shop make changes to your tuner so that it reads properly. That's what Blockhead Garage did for mine. 👍🏼

Harley had to get with baker to get a special code when flashing my grudgebox with an N1 shift pattern. It's worked extremely well with my 170 hp 131 stage4
