Baker's 7 year Single Barrel Review

Just picked up my first one (8 year 7 month $59.99) and it is delicious! I have bought several Knob creek picks, knob creek 12 and Bookers and I prefer the bakers! Mine is cherry forward with lots of barrel char.

I enjoy the Bakers 7 but lately I gravitate more towards the Knob Creek Single Barrel 9 yr @ 120 proof. In my market the KC is $10 less than the Baker's.

It is SO difficult to justify buying Bakers for less age, less proof, and more money than Knob Single, which is my favorite of all time. If this was $40 in my area, I’d buy it. But around me, if I ever see one, it’s $80.

I stayed away from it until last year. I broke down and bought a bottle. 8years 1 month. Fresh crack it was okay. A few weeks later and wow !

You guys aren't any fun at all. Baker 7 is quite different from the run of the mill, just a bit awkward in a good way. It's one of my favorites. I always have a bottle in the house and try everything else as a one off until I find my next Bakers that make me come back.

Recently discovered this one. Had a 7Y 3M in the bunker for a couple years. Cracked it a few weeks ago and its absolutely fantastic. I have another 11Y Kroger pick I'm excited to try next. Whenever I see these or a KC 12 I'm buying every time. Great stuff!

Love Baker's 7. This is bottle that as soon as it gets low, I am immediately replacing. The last few that I have had have all been aged over 8 years.

I enjoy this expression, but I do miss the prior iteration of this product, the Small Batch version (in the wine bottle). Single Barrels are great, but they do vary, and I also suspect with a production run as big as Jim Beam's, its easier to go cherry pick some good barrels for sale. The old product had to be blended to a relatively consistent profile, which had to have taken some real skill. Great review. Cheers.

The old label is made from a blend of barrels. This new label is from just one barrel.

B7 beats out many bottles in the 90 dollar range. Great juice! Currently have a 8 yr 5 month on the shelves. Bakers 13 year is very good as well.
