let me explain bakis strength. baki became stronger after performing the legendary training known as the "pp training". earlier in the manga yujiro is shown as having a giant pp, however, in the anime he is shown in a speedo doing spilts in between 2 beds yet no pp is to be seen. this is because he grew his strength exponentially through the pp training. going from being able to kill 500 men with his 24 incher to being able to kill 50000 men with no pp.

The poison thing made sense. The two poisons were rooted in the same origin but branched into different effects like yin yang. That is, they had the same mechanism of action but with opposite symptoms. The poison would clear out of the body but not before killing you. To be fair, Baki Hanma has had like 3 sequels before this. It's a long running series and they just gave up naming them in a way people could tell it's essentially a season 4 so I don't mind him having super human speed and being able to tank things.
