Thank you so much for adding in the post-pour instructions as well as the served look/taste. That was incredibly helpful! If I wanted a chocolate brown glaze, could I use the regular baking chips or still use the white ones and go with a dark cocoa powder?

You get a like, not just for the recipe, but for showing the "after" of the glazing like you said, the cut and the texture of the glaze when you put a finger or spoon to it. It cn easily get rubbery if the recipe is incorrect, so THANK YOU for showing that

Does the buttercream on the cake need to be white/lighter for the effect to be better and can it be poured onto a dark chocolate buttercream for example? Also can you use gelatin leaves instead of powder?

Do a lighter colour to be on the safe side. I’m sure a darker colour buttercream would be fine for like a red mirror glaze but especially if doing a lighter mirror glaze, do a lighter buttercream. Also, yes you can use gelatin leaves just weight out the equivalent amount.

I’ve just made this glaze. It was super easy. The only problem I had was getting it down to temp 32°c as room temp was 36°. I put it in the fridge to cool, then had to work very quickly pouring it and get the cake back into fridge to set. It looks good, thank you.

Ideally yes but it can hold outside for maybe a couple of hrs , depending if you cover a mousse cake for example then ideally it’s always sitting in the fridge 😊

I would like to glaze a cake this coming Halloween. After looking at some other videos, I will try yours, since it will be my first time trying this. I have a couple questions for you: - What to do with the rest of the glaze? The glaze that is on the pan? Can you recuperate it, in a jar or something? - I want to try this glaze on a rolled cake/ yule log. Can it be done? Am I going into hard work? Thank you.

Yes you can, as long as you’re not adding too much liquid Also it depends on the brand and the strength of the colour but it’s generally harder to get the desired intensity with liquid food coloring but just try with what you have Sending you success vibes!

I googled Knox gelatin and I think it can work, the strength is close to what I have which is 250ish 😊👍

10 grams of powdered gelatin is equivalent to four gelatin sheets :)

Oh good question, something that can work is a normal blender or even a food processor but trying to avoid creating too much air 😊
