Balatro Review - This Ain't No Joke

Balatro is a roguelike deckbuilding card game by LocalThunk. It's all about using unique and powerful Joker cards to create insanely high-scoring hands based on Texas Hold 'em poker rankings.
I never heard of this game until I did my Steam Next Fest videos a few weeks ago. Yet its one of the best games I've played in years and is already a lock for one of the two or three best games of the year. It's almost a perfect game.

Balatro has easily become one of my favorite games of the year. Im not even huge on cards, roguelites or deck builders but something about this game has me coming back for more, round after round just enjoying the hell out of it

Balatro is great the final boss that shuffles and flips jokers over only matters if you have mult multiplier jokers, since then the order of the jokers matters also you can reorder cards in your hand, so glass cards should always be on the rightmost side

Yeah, I ran into a Joker where it doubles the effect of the Joker to its right, but that was only once. I suppose if you're running a certain set up that boss could be tough but I've faces it twice now and have had no problem destroying it.

It's a grind for addicts and losers. No skill needed, just luck. Like all gambling.
