Love coming back to this review glad it was enjoyed. My wife won that bottle at the distillery during an event and we had a back up figured why not donate it. We are still together and love juntos especially the meaning as juntos means together in Spanish 🥃

I love Balcones, I love how all their stuff is so distinct flavor profile. Almost to the point of being a fan boy. But a tequila finish sounds not even remotely good. I feel like companies are frantically just searching for anything to do different instead of worrying about making good bourbon. Although I’m not a fan of wine finishes I get it and I understand in Armagnac or cognac finishes. Are they going to start adding vodka and gin to Bourbons just to say they have something new? I’m not even talking about these guys but a lot of start up or craft distilleries do it.

I just picked up a bottle of Glenfiddich 19 Year Age of Discovery Bourbon Cask and have to say it's one of if not the best Scotch's ice ever had. If you're able to find a bottle I would love to see a review on it 😄

Daniel gives SMSWS flack about their tasting notes and then goes on a tangent to tell us about how this whiskey reminds him of the Indian spices in his cupboard. It's like the pot calling the kettle black but not completely black. That kind of black where it's a night with no moon but the stars are shining and you're outside surrounded by dark green grass maybe 10 miles away from the nearest town that has a population of less than 15k. Also you had a porch light on but turned it off and your eyes have 67% adjusted to the darkness again. That kind of black. In all honesty, I love both of your tasting notes. Relating it to specific memories, feelings and environments has helped me develop my palate. Cheers, you weirdos!

Tequila as a spirit does not lend to be used as a finishing barrel. Most Tequila is aged is used bourbon barrels.
