@@LoyalMoses I'm wrong! I was thinking the S1.... that's the one reviewers saying bad things about. totally my mistake. (too many products! haha). yes, the t1 has generally unanimous rave reviews. the S1 ... people seem to say it's so fast... but can't even finish a proper bench... unless slowed down to basically T1 speeds.

I'm going that direction myself, started printing a couple years ago. Of course started off w/creality printers, figured they worked well enough and cheaper pricing. Always told myself "bambu prints look a little better but not $$$ better. Bought an A1 mini a few months ago, now I find myself printing almost everything on it. While my V3 k1, SE and V2 barely get used. Just bought the P1S and plan on selling my creality printers.... besides my K1 it prints well enough and it's fast.

Great information! Thanks for taking the time to provide the content on these printers. I watched your video on the T1 pro also and I am so tempted because it seems like such a great machine at a really unbelievable cost. In the end I will probably go with the P1S or X1 Carbon because of the AMS only.

I have a Bambu X1C that had a heated sensor cable that failed on me. When trying to repair the X1C on my own I may have caused an issue with the plastic plug in housing, (still trying to figure this out). So my "best" performing 3D printer is out of service and I have no way to get it fixed unless I get lucky and do it myself successfully. I am shopping for a 3D printer and am hesitant to buy another Bambu product because I am afraid that I lost a lot of money on my X1C knowing that I may never be able to bring it back into operating condition. I guess it is pretty much the same with all 3D printers, once they break down, you're on your own. So no-one mentions the repairability of 3D printers and I was wondering if you hav e thoughts on the difficulty level of repairs out there, (might make a great video). Any thoughts?

Me personally, I’m not too concerned with repairing something - I can’t repair my PS5 when it breaks… I know that is a concern for some, just not me really. I wasn't surprised with the results. I would probably call this a real-world test as you were testing the experience of doing prints. All of them looked to be pretty good prints. The TI is a beast for sure. I bought a P1S as my first printer as part of the Bambu Lab's 2nd Anniversary sale last month. Haven't printed any "fun" stuff yet, been printing mostly upgrades and tools to get my 3d printing setup ready for doing more things. It's been pretty reliable and the quality has been really good. Have only used Bambu filaments so far, but got my first order of Polymaker filaments last week, so will be trying out them soon.

If the print quality is that close together and the Creality is at least $150 cheaper than FL Sun and $250 cheaper than the Bambu Labs, I would take the Creality for the bigger build volume. It's 30% bigger than the P1S and almost twice the size of the T1, ON THE PLATE. Most people hardly ever max out their build height. The FL Sun has a circular build plate which really limits how big of a square you print on it. I don't print near as many large round objects as I do large square or oblong objects. To top it all off, the Creality and the P1S will print larger round objects than the FL Sun. If printing long skinny objects, the Creality can go over 420mm diagonally, the wider the shorter you can print. When it comes to noise levels, the FL Sun is atrocious. It sounds like a jet engine on steroids. The P1S with the cabinet closed is probably the quietest. Speed is nice, but not as big a factor as print quality and price.
@zeljkopopovic2662
@zeljkopopovic2662 22 күн бұрын
When one prints lot, speed is much more than "nice" advatege. Also... There was no print quality problem on T1 comparing to the other two. That leaves only the print size capacity, price and the noise vs. speed advatege.

I did a Rostock delta about 13 years ago as a frame re-do from my original printer x-y-z printer with a home built frame. I designed my own motherboard based on an STM32F103VBT chip (Creality started using them years later), bios and had both functional. Problem with the delta, more prone to frame missalignment issues, I was always adjusting it. Also, the swivel connections are high load wearing components. I had an FLSUN core x-y kit that I made about 8 years ago, It was OK but the hot end cooling above the heat transition was poor, I ended up making a water cooled top part above the transition to stop fat filament plug-jams, I had no issues assembling the kit but it was around 8 hours assembly + setup, a lot of purchasers gave up though I thought the manual was just fine, there wasn't the same degree of pre-assembly people expect these days, it was a very raw kit. Bearing quality is important for longevity, also effective electronics cooling. An enclosed printer saves time printing large brims and even high skirts where high accuracy is required. I do most of my printing with PLA and some with PETg+, rarely anything else but for enclosed, other options are a lot more practical.

FLSUN's power to print circles is also it's weakness, it's having to do ADVANCED inverse kinematic computations to draw straight lines, getting XY scaling tolerances dialed in on a delta can be impossible if there are manufacturing discrepancies in arm lengths, because XY doesn't even exist! It's 3 wiggly arms in the air, doing advanced motions just to make a straight line, I'm sure it's a beast at vase mode though, and those that it's surface-tells aren't an issue, then the speed makes up for it there. Even as someone who started on an E3, I'd also pick the P1, fully enclosable, future AMS, Core XY motion has too many benefits over bedslinger. That said I just got a A1 mini, because It's a complete AMS solutions for less than the P1 alone. Impressed with it's speed and quality already. Some of the best first layers and I haven't had to tweak a darn thing..just magic.

the formula isn't that complex, it's just square roots and additions/multiplications*, if I'm not mistaken it runs on the rockchip RV1109 which is a dual core at 1.5Ghz, calculating the kinematics is probably at most 50 clock cycles, that means you can do 30M calculations per second, a tmc2209 has a frequency of around 50khz, so 150k calculations is enough to keep up with the drivers. so tl;dr yes it's more complex but it's a non issue to the point that you can run a lot of overhead on top *it's a pain to calculate, but once the calculation is done, the required computation is relatively trivial on any modern processor.
@Roobotics
@Roobotics 4 ай бұрын
@@satibel I know a reasonable bit about IK, I should have been more careful what words I emphasize. My biggest issue is all the artifacts that get generated trying to turn such an unconstrained system BACK into a planar printer again. It just seems like a waste of core potential to simply go, slightly faster. I'd love to see one of these delta printer companies go ham and build a full stewart platform with slicer support that can tilt and become the defacto for non-planar printing at home.

The slicer is the program used to prepare a model for printing, and recently what you use to send a print to a printer over the network if you aren’t going to use a USB stick or SD card. OrcaSlicer is a common one for general use, Bambu Studio is for Bambu Lab printers primarily and there are others like Cura, and PrusaSlicer as well.

in this price range for flat out speed if you're doing complex models and don't need the size, the anycubic M7 pro is an amazing pick, you get a similar speed for the bolt, but you can print 8 at the same time. (in theory you should be able to print in 35 min in maximum speed on HS resin, and you should probably still be getting similar quality on Z since it's 0.2mm layer height) note that clean up may be more involved since it's resin, but if you're doing multi part batches or models that would have a lot of hops/direction changes, it's still way faster. and you could get the m5s for half the price, it's the one I'm currently using and it's amazing, printing multiple 10cm high models in an hour. also cost isn't really an issue anymore, resin is around the same price as filament nowadays. (though if you are only doing very small models in 1-2 of, the cost of ppe starts to add up.) btw I would advise against high speed resin because it's definitely not a general purpose resin, it prints fast and is extremely rigid, but that's also what causes most of the pain with it, it's relatively brittle (i.e. it will shatter if dropped from 1m+) and it will film up if it's sunny and you open the window or door. also it's almost impossible to print anything requiring flexing. though if you need a prototype in the next hour it'll do that no problem. a better one is ABS-like resin.

Okay, about the ender 3 V3, what is the advantage of a core xz system over traditional bedslinger? Having the x motor on the bridge seems to me is not limiting the speed of the machine, because of the limited movement of the z axis. Can anybody explain this to me? Ps: P1S owner here, and never regretted getting one.
@LoyalMoses
@LoyalMoses 5 ай бұрын
P1S is an amazing machine! As for the corexz system... two motors work together rather than one alone, so the movement becomes very efficient, faster and more precise. Additionally, it reduces weight on the x-gantry which helps limit vibrations and wobble. It can also be a cost savings as well depending on how it is manufactured.

My first machine was a cheap delta. I never was able to get a good print out of it. Partly because of my inexperience, but also because the machine suked. :) I am considering the Flsun. I really want one that will just print out of the box. But I don't like Bambu because it requires the internet to live up to its full potential. And I don't like the slinger because the design is inefficient. I had an ender knockoff for a while, and it was okay for some things, but it required constant attention to keep it working properly. I like the delta design for its efficiency and speed. The V400 has a direct drive extruder, so that's a plus as well.

I vote for Core XY as the best overall system for current generation of printers. Delta config is too mathematically and mechanically complex for my taste, and I imagine it would be a nightmare to incorporate sophisticated algorithms related to resonance compensation, input shaping, motor noise reduction etc. Besides, just look at the size of this monster. Almost half of its volume is used by the mechanism. Not very efficient use of space, and I also have reservations about reliability (particularly of the links, which require very high long-term precision under stress). As for Core XZ, I don't see the point of having a fast Z axis. 99 percents of the time the printing head needs to move in XY plane, and that's where speed matters. Z is only used when advancing to the next layer, and sometimes for short distance Z-hopping. No need to be ultra-fast on that axis at all. Second point: there are not many filaments which can reliably print at 250 mm/s, let alone 1000 mm/s. I personally don't print from PLA except when I need to test something, as it is too thermally unstable and prone to sagging. As for other, more practical materials, the vast majority of them don't print well at super high speeds, so the Delta here doesn't have an advsntage. And the third printer has open frame so it is also not well suited for such materials (albeit for a different reason). So, between these three, I would choose at P1S without hesitation. Besides, maybe it's just me, but even in this video I like the look of the part it produced more then the other two, despite the author's comments.
@LoyalMoses
@LoyalMoses 4 ай бұрын
CoreXZ isn't just about the motion speed, but also reducing weight and vibration on Z as well - so there is still a small benefit, even if minimal there. As for filaments - I am receiving new PLAs right now that are rated at 800mm/s and this coming week I will have several rated for 1200mm/s - everything is changing, and the recipes for all of these base filaments will soon be high speed. Even Bambu Lab doesn't have "high speed" filament, because ALL of their filament is high speed. But yes, I agree the P1S is just the better general purpose machine. Still LOVE the way the delta moves though, my gosh I love it. Thank you for sharing!
@yevgeniyfedorov2381
@yevgeniyfedorov2381 4 ай бұрын
@@LoyalMoses I'm still not convinced about the advantages of Core XZ -- maybe I'll change my mind when variable-Z-layer (forgot the exact term) printing becomes more commonplace than it is now. Until then, I don't think the Z axis matters much as long as it's statically stable and precise. Regarding speeds -- like I said, I don't use PLA for most of my prints, so I guess we have different use cases here. I certainly don't mind waiting a bit longer if at the end I get a quality print with good layer adhesion. For rapid prototyping, I agree that speed matters a lot, and could be a determining factor -- I just don't do much of prototyping, I mostly print functional parts for my electro-mechanical projects, using ASA, PA, ABS, TPU and the likes. In any case, I am about to test my theories soon as my new P1S should arrive in the mail today. I also understand how cool it must be to watch a working Delta. When I was a child, I was mesmerized by electric typewriters -- modern laser printers are so boring in comparison 😀 Thanks for the interesting discussion!
