I grew up a couple of towns away from Groton and as teenagers in the 70's we used to sneak up there to party, which wasn't easy , it was part of Gibbet Hill Farm and you had to go through lots of thicket and gamble brush and then hope one of the black Angus they used to raise wouldn't attack you! We never graffieted, weren't punks just like to party. When we first got married my husband and I moved to Groton and such up there a few times. Now the old barn is a function building and the other one is a chi chi restaurant. I now live in North Central Massachusetts so I don't get down that way much anymore, glad to see it's still pristine. Thanks for sharing!

Sadly, I noticed some tagging/graffiti (although very minor) yesterday when I went... it was very disappointing
Now that's a crazy party when you end up burning down a castle lol. Beautiful property and thanks for sharing. Take care and be safe.

This was so very nice. I really liked how the grounds were kept up and no graffiti. You have to respect a person who could design and build such a grand structure. Too bad it burned. I can imagine how beautiful it must have looked in its day. Thanks Charlie, you do find the nicest things to take us on for exploring, or a just fun visit. Have a great day!

Amazing place to visit. I wonder if any architects could tell us how it would have been constructed and looked like during the time it was whole.
@rnrudynh14275 жыл бұрын
Perhaps the local historical society or town hall would have access to the original plans or photos of the finished building.

Living in a Castle in real life would have sucked with today's standards in mind. Maybe not this one built in 1905 (I think you said ) but imagine living by torch light. No power, running water and only a fire place here and there. The no Wi-Fi would be a huge deal 9

Worcester.....lol.Rt.31 north to Mason NH.As above so below .......Rt.13 begins,all the way to Concord NH.Never saw so many stars on buildings of stolen property in all my life.So sad no one sees......most are asleep.Miles and miles of signs saying Incorporated in such a such date.One big business with madmen as managers an bosses.False history,false dates, so many lies,so many puppets shoring up the lies..............so sad. Just like the one dollar bill that doesn't change,even tho all the other money has had a facelift.Just like the roads(31....13). Look at the pyramid on the one dollar.Flip it over,then draw another pyramid.It forms a six pointed star.The points of the star point to five letters an the all seeing eye.How conviniant that we all have a magic spell in our wallets,reminding us of who is in charge of us all......So sad. Funny how witchcraft,mansonry,magic are all called "the craft".
