Band-Maid has changed my view about music in so many different ways. I was a fan of many bands before, but i lost interest in rock, punk and metal for round about a decade. It was all the same somehow, at least IMO. So i heard DnB and i am still listening Pendulum f.e., they are still one of my favorite bands. But Band-Maid brought me back to that rockmusic that was missing a long time in my life. Of course they are also BY FAR my favorite band of all time. It is so refreshing, so versatile, so perfectly crafted and performed by ladies that really care about their craft and fans! SO MUCH talent in this band! I am so glad i gave it a listen a few years ago on KZbin! The costumes scared me a little bit at the beginning, not gonna lie, but after two songs and reading into the meaning behind their "gimmick" it made sense to me and i was just happy! Hope to see more Band-Maid reactions, you really enjoyed it and that is exactly what we all need these days, right? Greetings from Germany P.S.: Little funfact, the maids were gathering around the drummer Akane to through her off, they made funny faces to each other to distract each other, that tells you how confident they are on stage and also with each other :)

Well, this almost looks like we can welcome a new member to the club of 'Maidiacs'. :) When you combine energy and fun with talent and creativity, the result is this 5-piece group of young ladies who seem to effortlessly turn the rock genre inside out and revive it from the dead. At least from my point of view. Before I found this band with their MV to "Thrill" by chance a few years ago in the suggestions here on KZbin, I actually belonged to those for whom the genre was practically non-existent anymore. Just as they breathed new life into the genre, they did the same for me and rekindled an old love that is stronger than ever today. One thing needs to be mentioned though. Freedom and Domination may be their showcase performances, but if you think you've seen and heard it all with these two songs, rest assured they surprise you quite a few more times. Because there is one aspect of them I haven't mentioned above. And that would be versatility. Genre boundaries interest these ladies very little and their catalog, which now holds well over 100 songs, offers a lot of variety. A true 'wonderland' which coincidentally is also the title of a song that proves this nicely and also lets Saiki's voice shine. Another example for sure is their recently released acoustic version of their track 'Catharsis' which will only be available on their channel for a very short time. I promise you won't regret a single second of listening to these two songs. Mit den besten Grüße eines Maidiacs aus der 'Nachbarschaft' :) ----------- 「 Our rock never dies ever. I only recently found Band-Maid and I love them already, it only took a couple of videos to see how talented they are. In my opinion the rhythm section (drums and bass) are the backbone of a band. They set the tempo of a song, the guitars and vocals add the next layer. You can tell Akane (the drummer) and Misa (the bass player) work well together as they always lay a solid beat for the songs. They are so cute in the maid costumes but the music hits hard.
@mrmxypltk2 жыл бұрын
They went to the same music school together! They're definitely the powerful backbone of this amazing band!

Yay and welcome new fan! One of the beautiful things about Band-Maid is that no matter what drew you in, no matter what personal bias for a band member you have, you will come to appreciate more and more how amazing each of them is individually, and most importantly how amazing they are as a group. I'm not going to tell you to listen to the guitars or the vocals, because at some point you'll really notice them on your own - and how the rhythm section works with them. Especially if you're listening on headphones to hear the nuances, they can teach you about how to make great music.
@dragonmac12342 жыл бұрын
@@stevehall5128 I have noticed each member gets a moment to shine with a solo (I have a soft spot for Misa and her bass riffs), and I like the back and forth you occasionally get between the bass and guitars. I also read somewhere Jimmy Page asked to meet Akane because he was impressed by her drumming and it reminded him of John Bonham. When a rock legend says your playing reminds them of another rock legend you're doing something right.

Yeah bass can be hard to pick out sometimes, but once you know what it sounds like on its own, you know what to look for! Misa likes to play all kinds of fun stuff too, so you start to notice all these basslines going on in there, it's awesome. (Also you almost said "base" before correcting yourself, but "base" is right! You're absorbing its powers) That transition from the full band chaos to sotto Saiki is one of my fav bits (that and her giving the crowd a thumbs up after the last call and response). The way they all take the energy down so smoothly is the best

I was impressed by your observing power and your curiosity about music. They already have high skills as musicians and respect each other, but they are always striving to grow without being conceited by it. And they always think to please the fans without compromising to make a good song. But usually they are funny girls who like mischievous and jokes. And I think their music shows a good relationship like a real sister. You're already like "Maidiac", so I suggest you react to "Catharsis Acoustic Ver." to get to know their different side. This song is one of the live songs they delivered online last year as a Christmas present for their fans, but since it's a limited-time delivery, it may be removed from their official channel at the end of this month. Best regards.

FROM JAPAN ◆ Thank you for your reaction to BAND-MAID. BAND-MAID is a real hard rock band. BAND-MAID is celebrating its 9th year of formation. BAND was formed by a girl who came to Tokyo from a local large city Kumamoto of Japan to become a singer when she was about 19 years old. Five unique and talented girls gathered. The members have not changed, and they are continuing their efforts to improve their playing ability. They are constantly writing new songs and cool songs. Three new songs were released at the end of October. BAND-MAID is a hard rock band, but it's a very diverse band. Listen to different types of songs. 1 Thrill : The first music video that saved them from dissolution. Classic rock 2014 2 Sense : The theme song of the anime "Platinum End". Dramatic, fast hard rock with a classic intro. 2021.10 3 Bubble : A tribute to the movie Bohemian Rhapsody, funky rock 4 Different : First anime opening song, new sense of high-speed rock. Anime is Log Horizon 3rd season. 2020.12 5 Daydreaming : Beautiful power ballad. Saiki and Kobato vocals and Kanami's guitar solo are wonderful. 6 Dice : Rhythmic hard rock singing women's independence 7 about us : A gift for fans who cannot meet in a pandemic. Beautiful ballad. 2021.02 8 Freedom : A power rock that walks around the stage and conveys a smile. The transition from drum solo to lead guitar is the best. 9 Manners : Declaration to create new hard rock while inheriting classic rock. Cool hard rock. Rock'n'Roll never die. 10 alone : The song they wrote, composed and released for the first time. Medium speed Hard Rock 2016 11 Secret My Lips & Secret Maiko Lips : Funky Hard Rock. A gift for fans of April Fool's Day . 12 Blooming : Vocals and chorus are impressive, and various types of music are fused. 13 RINNE : High-speed rhythmic heavy rock, inspired by the Japanese horror movie "RINNE : Reincarnation". RINNE (Reincarnation) is also found in Eastern thought and Buddhist thought. 14 onset : Instrumental song for lead singer Saiki breaks, their great playing power and harmony. 15 Play : A song composed as an instrumental song, but Miku added lyrics as Saiki liked it. With different intros depending on the live. 16 Before Yesterday : Record of the first overseas performance, Sakura-Con in Seattle 2016. Melodic Rock with great lyrics. 17 Choose me : An insert song of the concert scene the Netflix movie KATE, they appeared as BAND MAID. Cool rock song. 18 Dragon Cries : The only song produced by Tony Visconti. It's not their lyrics, but it sings about the future of human society and the earth. Great Heavy Classic Rock . 19 After Life : A homage to the maid cafe and band formation where Kobato worked. BAND-MAID Hard Rock . 20 Corallium : The song that Saiki wrote all the lyrics for the first time. Hip pop style dancing hard rock. 21 Catharsis : A song from Acoustic Live, showing their diversity, and they do their best in every genre. Added ★ Peace & Love : Founder Miku Kobato's solo project. Pigeon saves the world. Funky pop rock.

It's no accident you can hear the bass* clearly. The way Misa sets the tone and effects on her instrument make it punch through the mix instead of getting lost in the background. Making the bass stand out like that is tricky, because it often involves sacrificing some of the low tone that you want from it. Misa strikes the balance perfectly, keeping the low tones while making her part distinct. It's an example of how there's much more to playing an electric instrument than just notes and chords. *English pronunciation tip: The way you've been saying "bass" usually refers to the fish. When talking about bass in the musical sense, it rhymes with "space". Does that make sense?

If you want to listen to the bass more closely, I suggest checking out "Dice". It has a bass intro and a bass solo as well. Normally bass is really hard to hear in a rock band, because the deep frequencies of the bass are getting drowned by the high frequencies of the guitars. But since Dice has a bass intro, it conditions your ear to listen to it throughout the entire song.

THE best Rock band on the planet - best musicianship, best songwriting, best stage presence. They always shine brightest live but their MV's are superb too. Have some fun looking at the many fam cams on YT too as many of them capture the fun these Rock goddesses have on stage, like in this video, 'Domination', at 3:16, where 3 band members are playing Hengao (strange faces) with Akane the drummer, which is making funny faces to try and put someone off. Akane, of course, laughs along while not missing a beat. It shows the ladies' confidence in each others' abilities that they can fool around like this while all of them slam out note-perfect Rock at full tilt. Miku, the rhythm guitarist and founder of the band, always has a chat with the audience halfway through their 2 hours and more set and that's worth seeing too. This is a very funny example - kzbin.info/www/bejne/rmfMhJltaLGch5I

Welcome to the Band Maid train. Every new song will be your new favorite. This is probably one of THE BEST ones especially with Akane's solo. I became a MAIDIAC a couple of years ago. You have 40-50 to go. Its OK, you SHOULD pause and REWIND that kind of stuff...don't let anyone tell you different. The AWESOMENESS of Akane cannot be underestimated. Ask, Jimmy Page. Something so beautiful, it brings tears. Here is one you won't get from the others. Its a song they have not put on YT. As an 80's METAL HEAD, the song called SHAKE THAT makes you do just that. Its just the audio. @

I enjoy your genuine enjoyment in your reactions :D If you enjoy highly talented Japanese bands I would recommend Wagakki Band and nearly any of their live preformances but my favourite is Senbonzakura. (not the one with Amy Lee, good but not as good) They are a band of pretty much superstars in their instruments and mix traditional japanese folk instruments with rock and metal :D I think you will like it ;) I have watched through a number of your reactions now and enjoyed them all :)

Saiki doesn't get tired since her throat operation. In 'PLAY' she even screams. She does get a break with Miku does her thing. But they do two hour sets. a Bass is a fish. a Bass Guitar is pronounced Base, like Ace, not bass. MISA is Base.

4:30 That's called operatic trained breath control. So many "pop" singers just don't have the chops, so they fake it. Saiki does not fake anything.

Since you like Band-Maid so much, you should check out Scandal (Japan). Scandal is an older, less metal version of this type of music.

7:00 There's the traditional rock bassist, who is the one who was not as good on guitar so settled to play bass. Seriously. The bassist just kind of plays along with the guitarist, but keeping in time with the drummer. Then there are REAL bassists. See Flea. See Entwistle. See Pastorius. See Geddy Lee. The bass can and should be a primary instrument. Misa is quickly gaining status in the realm of the bass gods/goddesses or rock.

English translation of the lyrics is available in the CC. Rather than recommending any single song, I say just watch all the videos.

Wenn du mehr hören willst wie ein bass klingt solltest du "Dice" von Band Maid dir ansehen , ein Song der mit einem "Drum-Bass-Solo" beginnt. Grüße aus NRW.

Sounds good to my ears. Po. :) Since we have already adjusted her name, only the look is missing. I think the whole thing literally screams to see the dear Bisscute in a maid costume, doesn't it? 😇 It would certainly suit her well.
