The fact that this video only has 24k view after 5 years is quite telling for the 'taste' most people have in music. Why Frank's music isn't listened to more is beyond me. Dweezil is brilliant and can match Vai on every level. Fantastic.
@horowizard4 жыл бұрын
I'm not surprised. Zappa's music is an acquired taste. You either dig it or you do not. He was first and foremost a Composer. He only did Rock to feed his family. He did not function in the business in the conventional manner that others would, so his music did not get promoted on a mass scale. If he did have an album or single make the charts it was totally by accident.

me and my son drove to the Orpheum Theater in Boston for this first tour of ZpZ. We arrived early and walked up by the entrance and the tour bus was parked and Steve Vai was looking at some photos with some fans. We waited. My son was too nervous to ask Steve for an autograph so I asked Steve if he would mind giving my son an autograph. Sure, he said. I introduced him to my son, they shook hands and he gave him an autograph. We thanked him and waited a while longer and we got inside and our seats were way up back and every step it got hotter and hotter. We got up to our seats my son says, I don't know if I can make it. This heat. I handed him a bottle of water and said, have a seat we are not going anywhere. The feedback from Vai during Zombie Woof shook the entire venue. It was so awesome. What made this special the Orpheum, Boston was the venue of the one and only FZ show I attended in Nov 1984. We went to the ZpZ 2nd tour in Boston at some amphitheater and the.3rd tour with Ray White at some club in Vermont. We were up front for that one. It was incredible. The next year saw them in New Hampshire. Great Shows

As the saying goes, music IS the best. Probably started as a form of communication in our distant ancestors days, but still true today. Frank Zappa,as A man and a true musician, was and will always be one of the greatest. Just not 18th century, although he listened to those talented artists. What a great talented artist who passed away too early in life.
@wdfusroy84636 ай бұрын
I've always thought that Zappa's little list of increasing better things in life which culminates in "Music is the Best" is truly the DEFINITIVE statement of Zappa's entire musical project and life. Here it is once again: “Information is not knowledge. Knowledge is not wisdom. Wisdom is not truth. Truth is not beauty. Beauty is not love. Love is not music. Music is THE BEST.” -- Frank Zappa: Joe's Garage, Act III 1979. Is that not Frank Zappa in nunc?

+Ziggy “Frappanised” Zappada Hey bro. I was just watching a Dweez video with Vinnie and Tai Wilkenfeld. Not sure if you've heard of her, but she's a kid who played with Jeff Beck first, I think. Amazing chops. I watched the first part of this but didn't notice Part 2 here. I think it's awesome that Dweezil has dedicated a part of his life to his dad's music. I'd do the same thing, myself. Who wouldn't? Now with live and archieved Zappa (still a lot in that vault), it makes a Zappa fan a happy camper. Oh, btw, on video 245 of my over 300. I'm on week ten. lol Later mf-er!

I like Vai and he's a great guitar player, but tough to listen just to a guitar screaming for hours. The only guitarist I've been able to listen to a lot is Beck. He's not just a speed noodler, but a virtuoso composer always serving the song not just the guitar solo. And diversity is what I love aboit Frank. If you look up the word variety you'll find a picture of Frank.

very true a lot of people feel this way about vai I love him but I can see why people don't, he really is a guitar player's guitar player, but satch is a little different it's quite weird satch seems to reach other's right from kids to grandma's ( seen this at his gig's lol ) but back to vai I think their are a few tracks you can get non guitarists to listen to but I totally agree he can be hard to take on, but always love that frank gave him a shot.
