In any other country, flashing and driving aggressively an unmarked police car whilst in a fuel truck, the truck would be taken and the driver in handcuffs... The guard even stated what if that was an elderly person or a tourist but still let the drive drive on... Our Guards are way too soft!!!

Years ago I watched a documentary about trucking. Drivers were forced to drive trucks that were never kept up. They were so unsafe drivers were intentionally trying to be pulled over by police , to force inspections.

I remember returning to Dun Laoghaire in 1956. The Customs consisted of two trestle tables situated in a dark shed. Two men operated the checks. They were very friendly. So different to now. 😅

I live in Ireland, and am loving seeing the Gardai and Customs finally getting their own show. Undermanned, under-paid, overworked, but still doing their jobs to the utmost of professionality. Nice to see that people from Europe have to undergo stringent security checks, while people who enter the country illegally after tearing up their passports mid-flight still get to walk into the country with NO security checks allowed, as they "identify" as children :-(

Précis: A woman reported her ID card stolen but later found it. Car theft: a 2 pronged solution: one is to install in the car a facial recognition system to allow only authorized drivers to start the engine. Second, if robbers do manage to drive away, "unauthorized person" and "car engine on" should send alert to police - vehicle description, plate ID - so all public cameras, like at port entry, will catch that car.

What happened with that truck in the tunnel is absolutely epidemic in the port tunnel. It's pretty much every truck in every situation. It's shockingly common for trucks -- including those hauling aviation fuel -- to come right up to the back bumper in an attempt to intimidate other drivers out of their way. I know. I've been through the tunnel a million times and it happens pretty much every trip.

So, the Spanish woman here in this video, travelling to Ireland from Spain (from one EU member nation to another EU member nation) finds that she is subject to normal border and immigration controls, just the same as any other passengers from anywhere else. So if that’s the case, then how come the Border and Immigration Officials in the U.K. couldn’t do exactly the same when Britain was in the EU? It looks like they could have done. UK newspapers for the last few days have been full of illegal migrants swarming into Eire as they're afraid of being sent to Rwanda if they stay in the UK.They say they don't have to show any passports to enter the Republic of Ireland-the vast majority of them are buying cheap cruise tickets and enter the country with no checks whatsoever.Are there no passport/customs checks at the ports?My sister is a UK citizen and was told as such she didn't need a passport but anyone else,including her American husband,did, so how are these migrants able to flood the country?

There's a common travel agreement between the UK and Ireland for citizens/passport holders of those countries. Traveling through the ports requires a government issued ID, which doesn't need to be a passport. There are customs in ports in both the UK and Ireland.

They are leaving the UK and borders control and government happy as leaving so do not ask for ID ,They land in NI Which is governed by the UK ..they than just get bus or taxi into Republic which has no borders ,So Ireland has no say or control on who enters Ireland for the Uk or@@Beebee192-j7i

The idiot in the truck is like so many on the m50, blocking the overtaking lane at 55mph some at 52mph restricted, the travelling lane can also be blocked.,they need to be put in the slow lane, but unfortunately the powers that be couldn't care less.im glad that it was highlighted that he comes out of the tunnel and into the overtaking lane, shocking with such a volatile and hazardous moving load.

Yes leaving keys near the door is a convenient place for some. An extendable rod could potentially reach keys left near the door.

I was a truck driver myself in Ireland for 8 years and gave it up because i was just embarrassed to be associated with any of them, they are horrendous and some of the things I have seen them do would make you shiver. Most of them are truck drivers because quite simply it's the only job they would ever get, with such a shortage all one needs is a pulse. Doing the annual cpc course is like attending a special needs class.
