Bank fishing for flathead catfish can be frustrating but productive if you know where to look. Today we took advantage of the falling water levels to target structure and cover in a dam spillway. Fish tight to cover and make sure your rig stays in place, keep the bait fresh and you will be successful. These are medium heavy Rippin Lips with Piscifun Thunder reels. The Thunder reels have been discontinued, they are upgraded and now called Alijoz from Piscifun. They are a 300 series low profile.

They are a blessing and a curse. It's a good spot but it blocks the upstream movement of fish. We have 4 spillways here in town and a couple low water dams downstream.
