It's such a crazy and terrifying thought, if he's this aggressive with it on CAMERA he probably does much worse when drunk. The thing about the whole “I want to keep the Brixton name” that bugs me the most is the fact that he didn’t care about soiling the name of the bar and gradually leaving your business in ruins after your friend gave you the bar. Didn’t seem like he cared about “The Brixton” then and I understand the emotional sentiment behind wanting to keep it. But after seeing all the services and resources Jon Taffer is providing to these bars that needs rescuing, I’d change MY name if that meant saving my finances and having a business that can help provide for the people I love let alone the name of a failing bar.

What gets me with this show, regardless of the added drama, is how people just don’t care. If someone literally handed me keys to a established and successful restaurant/bar, I’d do whatever it took to keep it that way. Hospitality courses, bar tending courses, and be a leader instead of a manager.

You forget, people are emotionally attached to their business. If someone came to you and gave you the keys to properly raising your kids to be successful (but its 100% different from the way you want to raise them), then you'd probably respond similar to how these people do. When you are emotionally attached not just to the thing, but to how you interact with it, your relationship and view yourself as the authority, you can make stupid decisions - especially when you aren't comfortable admitting mistakes to people "lower" than you.

He's the owner if he doesn't want to change the name he doesn't need a bully forcing him to do it he also doesn't need an emotionally manipulative wife trying to force them into doing it. @@jaynehogue2459 you don’t call an expert, and when he gives you advice you don’t tell him, “nah, we aren’t taking your advice though”. If you made up your mind that you weren’t going to change anything, don’t call anyone else to help you. It’s that simple. Most brands that are successful are the ones that adapted to branding changes AND hired experts to help them with it. If this bar had shareholders, the owner would’ve been walking out of that door for the last time ever. He clearly said that employees will make more tips so he does know that change will bring in more money…Rather he is acting stupidly handling finances and future.

You know if Tim thought bartending was that simple…..why didn’t he just fire everyone and do it himself. I’m guessing, it ain’t THAT EASY

If I were being insulted, after putting in my best effort with no support from management, I would walk away, to avoid a physical confrontation. Which I would triumph and be jailed for. Counterproductive.

it's almost embarrassing how delusional half of these owners and managers are. I don't really know much about the bar business, only from doing research thanks to this show, and from my aunt, who went to college for bartending and all the necessary stuff in order to fully embrace the bartending status, so my opinion is kind of...few and far between. that being said, i am involved in the medical field, so i know safety precautions, legal jargon, and other things. the most ridiculous and outlandish thing i have seen simply from an outsider and only watching the show is the lack of care towards health precautions. over-pouring, cross-contamination, "free sex and booze"; that's the quickest way for a legal and medical case on your hands, and that can be the knife that severs a business. it's harsh, but it's the truth. if your workers are drinking behind the bar, allowing fights to happen at every turn, and you are disrespecting your coworkers and patrons, you could end up shut down for good, and you could even wind up with a case on your hands. the medical field is a lot like the bar business. bartender-patron confidentiality? patient-doctor confidentiality. cross-contamination? venipuncture contamination, bodily fluid contamination, etc. etc. why in the hell is it so hard to follow the basics of the bar business? you don't need a degree or years of experience to know to clean your bar or kitchen, or to even know when a patron is too drunk. you can tell by their eyes, their attitude, the smell; it's not hard. the lack of common sense is so baffling to me. without proper training, sure, your bar may not last as long as the others around you, but those bars also follow standard safety protocol, and that isn't just food and patron safety. they follow nudity and smoking laws, they keep themselves up-to-date on the clientele they get and don't get; they update themselves regularly to fit what is around them. it isn't difficult to grasp. i've said it before on this channel, and i'll say it again: alcoholics don't run the bar business. it is a guaranteed way for your profit to go into their gullet, rather than the gullets of the patrons you beg to see every night.
