I have been living at this place since childhood. Its floor is smoother than any smooth marble, the cave is so cleanly cut that even today's machines cannot do such work, I think how great our civilizations were

Leave any rock in the open for the winds to rough through it and see the magic... there's no reason to jump high stating civilizations and all that... people in that era were equally intelligent and stupid as we are today!!!

Theres a documentary made by French channel called jahanah Jones about the mathematical ultra precision of barabar caves and how it's impossible to be even built during those times and even more precise than modern tools

I saw 3d scans, it‘s definitely made by machines. Either india has CAD back in the day or we all had and forgotten or aliens. But if the curved granite is so smooth and geometrically precise as the scans show, then you just can‘t build this by hand. All the best!

Remarkable and very informative video but I'm curious, what kinds of tools were available 2,500 years ago that enabled such precise workmanship? It reminds me of ancient stone work in south America that demonstrates craftsmanship far more advanced than the abilities possessed by people at that time. I'd love to know how it was done, and hope to see the caves in person some day!

Indians advanced in steel working long before 300 bce. They were also the first civilization to use calculus.

@Dipanjan Dey. No James is right. What was called as BC (Before Christ) is now called as BCE (Before Common Era) and AD is now referred to as CE (Common Era).

@@DipayanPyne No he is right. Around 3000BCE, we're in the Chalcolithic culture, that is the use of Copper. Iron Age in Indian subcontinent broadly corresponds to 1500BCE to 200BCE. Also, the caves mentioned in the video are from 3rd century BCE. So he might be pointing towards it. If you believe some scholars, we're still in the Iron Age because we use steel majorly and it is a much refined metallurgical form of Iron!

Those are newer inscriptions saying they are Ashoka era. Plus the Ajivikas prominence was southern India based, with fewer believing in Buddhism. This cave is closer to the time of King Ajatashatru from around 900 bce.

One of the script in the shown inscriptions was Brahmi which is often found in Ashok’s inscriptions around India. So I wouldn’t say they were new inscriptions.

The Ajivaka philosophy is mentioned in Buddhist Tripitaka. Makhalikosala is one of the famous six gurus such as Nikranthanaputra who preach their own doctrines during the Buddha's era but their philosophy did not flourish as Buddhism or Hinduism. According to a discourse in the Dhamapada by the most famous Tharavada Indian Buddhist monk, Ven. Buddhaghosa, Nikranthanathaputra committed suicide after his students left him to become Buddhist monks. He tied himself with a rope to his neck and a clay pot then threw himself in a river and drown. Cheers

King Ashoka gave the caves to them but he did not build them. I left my house to my grandson but he did not build it . neither did i build my house i bought it. do you understand the history now a little better ? always use all of the information and then deduction to be more aware of what your observations are on some topic. these caves much much older and done in ways no man can explain. Even today with our laser technology we can not cut Granit to this precision because it would break as you cut it . facts. so who ,why and how has done it is a mystery .

Makali or Mahakali Khoslar is not the founder of Aseevagam or Ajivika, He is only the leader of Ajivika because he integrated about more than 70 community religions into one through the leadership.

Calling ajivikas, charvalakas and nastiks a religion would be oxymoron beating the very tenet of their paths. Until after the invaders, even Hindu was not an organised religion. There is still not one pope or scripture or dogma following which makes one a Hindu. Ajivikas and Nastiks and Charvalakas were very much a part of Hindu
@neurologyclinic9325

Hindu is the only premise where even an atheist is just as much part of it as a theist. Above all we are all seekers and not believers in some God sitting in some idiotic heaven. God is not even an important aspect but liberation the ultimate striving for a Hindu. God is only a tool to evoke emotion, the path of bhakti yog.

No it is not. Ajivikas was a different philosophy school. Some Buddhist texts mention that around the time of Buddha, there were 63 philosophy schools that challenged the earlier Vedic tradition. These 63 included Jaina, Buddhist, Ajivikas amongst others.
