@Michael Murphy Sorry dude this comment was 7 years ago 😂. Ah where should I start. First of all beyond Bashar there has been violence and atrocities from all side. That's a fact and reported both on the ground, from actual accounts given in person to me, and admitted to by all parties. However, the Syrian government is responsible for the vast majority of these atrocities, and reports I've received include bombings of schools, hospitals and public areas by government and Russian air forces. The government is also responsible for the widespread kidnappings and disappearances of protestors and civilians. 'Gangs' and rebels have also been using these tactics, however the majority have ended up in governments jails, either dead or severely tortured. Please Google 'Caesar syria' to get an understanding of the scale.

Hi, I’ve recently become interested in what’s happening in Syria and it’s history. I’m really trying to look at both sides and not get caught by propaganda. He said in this interview that he became president because the people wanted him? Is that true? Or did he come to power just because his dad died and he was the eldest son? Also (sorry for all the questions) I watched ‘cries from Syria’ have u seen it? If so how true is it. It’s very compelling but Assad denies anything like that happened. What is the truth?
@alekarok7154 Жыл бұрын
@@Evelynlouise089 he came to power because he was next in-line and no one can can challenge him and his family’s authorities. As they are very powerful and retaliation is met with swift action and punishment hence what’s happening now. I’m not a politician but that was my observation as a citizen.

Bashar al-Assad was elected by the majority of the Syrian people in 2021. The Western media is always trying to hide the truth from the Western people. What happened in Syria is not a people’s revolution, but a global conspiracy to weaken the Syrian state. America, Turkey, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Britain, sent thousands of terrorists and extremist Takfiris who only slaughtered and beheaded them. Because we love Bashar al-Assad or because we are not Muslims, Bashar al-Assad remained in power to protect his country from terrorist invasion and also to protect his people.

The villains and the innocents are lost in chaos. Too late to judge but all I know is that 99.5% of death happened after mercenaries took up arms against the authority. The authority has all the right to use extreme force to deal anarchists and Fascists, especially those who are armed and organized by other countries. If we wanted to invade, we would have done it already. It is strongly suspected that the syrian government used chemical weapons in the civil war. and the us threatened military action if the syrian government did use them, but the us did nothing. There is also a difference between killing people on purpose and by accident, a war against insurgents is VERY messy. But I do agree, we spend WAY to much on our military.
