We're not brainwashed we have just witnessed these things happen, other than that we wouldn't be claiming these things to happen...If bashar was a good person then he would've given up the chair years ago because problems are just getting more and more confusing and harder to fix as long as he's still sitting and not backing up from the presidency..

@Michael Murphy Sorry dude this comment was 7 years ago 😂. Ah where should I start. First of all beyond Bashar there has been violence and atrocities from all side. That's a fact and reported both on the ground, from actual accounts given in person to me, and admitted to by all parties. However, the Syrian government is responsible for the vast majority of these atrocities, and reports I've received include bombings of schools, hospitals and public areas by government and Russian air forces. The government is also responsible for the widespread kidnappings and disappearances of protestors and civilians. 'Gangs' and rebels have also been using these tactics, however the majority have ended up in governments jails, either dead or severely tortured. Please Google 'Caesar syria' to get an understanding of the scale.

It was right after the passing of his father HAFIZ Al-Assad. I remember how the whole country mourned him Syrian and non Syrian alike. I remember the slogan "سورية عريش الأسد" hopefully one day this beautiful country can go back to it's glory days 🦁🦁🦁

Hi, I’ve recently become interested in what’s happening in Syria and it’s history. I’m really trying to look at both sides and not get caught by propaganda. He said in this interview that he became president because the people wanted him? Is that true? Or did he come to power just because his dad died and he was the eldest son? Also (sorry for all the questions) I watched ‘cries from Syria’ have u seen it? If so how true is it. It’s very compelling but Assad denies anything like that happened. What is the truth?
@alekarok7154

@@Evelynlouise089 he came to power because he was next in-line and no one can can challenge him and his family’s authorities. As they are very powerful and retaliation is met with swift action and punishment hence what’s happening now. I’m not a politician but that was my observation as a citizen.

Bashar al-Assad was elected by the majority of the Syrian people in 2021. The Western media is always trying to hide the truth from the Western people. What happened in Syria is not a people’s revolution, but a global conspiracy to weaken the Syrian state. America, Turkey, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Britain, sent thousands of terrorists and extremist Takfiris who only slaughtered and beheaded them. Because we love Bashar al-Assad or because we are not Muslims, Bashar al-Assad remained in power to protect his country from terrorist invasion and also to protect his people.

The villains and the innocents are lost in chaos. Too late to judge but all I know is that 99.5% of death happened after mercenaries took up arms against the authority. The authority has all the right to use extreme force to deal anarchists and Fascists, especially those who are armed and organized by other countries. I believe Turkey, Saudi, Qatar are the main contributors to the killings and they must be held accountable.

Artists across the Middle East and beyond have demanded that Syria free painter / illustrator Youssef Abdelke, who has long defied state control by depicting the horrors of dictatorship and refused to flee his country's civil war. Syrian security forces arrested 62-year-old Abdelke and two colleagues last week after he signed a declaration calling for the departure of Assad, joining thousands of peaceful activists rounded up since an uprising erupted nearly two-and-a-half years ago.

His father before him Almost destroyed the entire city of HAMA when there were protests against the regime.Do not be fooled he is his fathers son and he is the same if not worse than his father.The Syrian people have had enough of tyrants it is time for change. This mucus will not give up power, he knows that if he loses he will die like all the tyrants before him.People don't know how brutal this regime is.They beat ur family almost to the brink of death and then ask you to smile.

It does not matter why Russia left them alone, what is important is how Chechnya was between 1996 and 1999, and they are much better now under the Russian flag and have lots autonomy, the conflict is resolved so get over it. Most Chechens will admit that. Russia does not negotiate with hostage takers, they knew that in Beslan and they wanted to cause bloodshed of children, the demand was not realistic nor reasonable. There can be no excuse to threaten lives of children. Your logic is appalling.

I don t think that people in Iraq,Libya or Syria has been living in "peace' there have been tensions under the surface which have exploded once the strongmen were gone, Saddam or Khadaffi....their brutal ways showed the way to using violenece to solve problems...the syrians are mostly left to themselves now??

Say theyre lying , or were forced to lie , who do you think is killing people? The FSA certainly doesnt have tanks , or unlimited ammo , and theyre a pretty small group. How would they be able to kill 9000 people ?

If we wanted to invade, we would have done it already. It is strongly suspected that the syrian government used chemical weapons in the civil war. and the us threatened military action if the syrian government did use them, but the us did nothing. There is also a difference between killing people on purpose and by accident, a war against insurgents is VERY messy. But I do agree, we spend WAY to much on our military.
