Real men knows it's barbershop. Parlors are just cutting your hair with sciscors and it costs like $100? wtf. They just wash your hair with shampoo to make it fancier which you just did recently.

In my experience, salons cut the top of ur hair better and barbershops cut the sides of ur hair better. No salon hairstylist seems to be able to do a fade even close to a barber. I get a cut about every month and people have literally been complimenting my haircuts for the last 4 years as i have found a great barber in my area that i keep going to
@shernandez3005 жыл бұрын
For me, I went to a barbershop for the first time about a month ago after years of my dad cutting my hair. I walked in to my local "low end" barbershop not really knowing what I wanted. As soon as I sat down, he gave me options of things he could do, and then proceeded to give me one of the best cuts I've ever gotten. It's about time for a fresh cut again, and you can bet I will be going back to that place.
@paintballjunkie655 жыл бұрын
Most salons can not put down a fade or taper the way a barbershop can. I agree that most barbers can not cut the top correctly though. At my barbershop they specialize in fades/tapers, while keeping it long on top. They even have free drinks(alcohol, soda, water etc.) Haha

It’s very simple of if you want short hair (buzz cut, crew cut, fades, fades with at most 2 inches of hair on top) then you go to barber shop. If you like keeping your hair longer 3 inches on top or 1 inch on the side then you need to go to a salon because they do layers and cut with scissors. Not to say some barbers can’t cut with scissors or some salons can’t cut with clippers.

@Brad King .. mine is $15 .. excellent barber I had to find after my previous unfortunately passed away young... prior to that .. I was actually going to a beauty shop.. very tiny typical grandma beauty shop.. next to my apartment building .. I befriended the 2 elderly ladies that ran it.. impulsively walked in one day and asked if they’d cut my hair.. I started getting cold feet was tense and a bit antsy in the chair as the one lady was trying to shampoo my hair it was a bit awkward and slightly embarrassing but I slowly loosed up and relaxed and shut my eyes until she finished shampooing me.. the other lady that cut my hair did an awesome job I was surprised.. better than some barbers I’d been to previously.. that treatment was all of $8 .. I’ll admit those old ladies gave me two very firm and thorough shampooings she scrubbed every inch of my scalp and nape .. probably the best I ever had.

Here in Hawaii, salons are the worst and the closest thing I've found to a barbershop is a grooming bar. I can't even remember how many times I tell the hair cutter to cut the back and sides to a number 2 and leave the top, they LITERALLY disregard what I say and what I want. They just do a basic marine cut, plus a cut up scalp, and leave your hair wet like you just came out the shower. It's a cheap cut but not worth the long depression you'll have after.

On the other hand, the salons are more professional and stylists are more experienced but they're too expensive. Good advice José, as you said too, IMO the best we can do is to go to the barber regularly and visit the salon when hair starts to looking weird or unbalanced.
