Thanks for the video ! As a PhD student in computer science who spends on average 10+ hours on my computer / mobile, I decided to buy the Daltson after seeing this video. I already own a pair of Klim glasses for about a year... Will be commenting on this after it arrives, after 7 days or so...

it's glasses, with a coating.... and it doesn't work as their commercials suggest. The commercials suggest that your eyes won't get 'tired' anymore from looking at screens. Well this is when the optician should stay in it's lane, produce glasses and let the optometrist take it from here. It's NOT the wavelength of the light that's making your eyes tired... it's not even the light itself... generally speaking when we watch screens we stare and thus blink less, eyes dry out as a consequence which gives the tired or irritated feeling. Filtering a few wavelengths from the visual spectrum ain't gonna change those facts. I put this in the same category as people that think you can 'train' your prescription away.... uhm no, doesn't work that way.

In regards to frame quality I think you can expect the same if you're going to compare the Chroma collection. The Mazzu collection uses plastics that I see in high end prescription eyewear so I think BARNER has the advantage there. Here are some pros for each brand: Gunnar 4 Lens BPF Options Many more frame options than Barner Barner More Trendy styles Top quality plastics Virtually colorless lenses Inexpensive clip-on Inexpensive Prescription option Hope this helps to make your decision. They each have something to offer.

@@EyeInfluence thank's, there's also the fact that barner tells you they block 40% of the blue light on the harmful spectrum, and 100% of the blue light at 410nm. i don't know if that's the exact same for Gunnar cause they don't mention it. Also barber sizes seem to be a bit small on wider/ larger heads with no option to go L. Also no magnifying with Barner. The material on Mazzu seem to be on par with Persol, hence the price differemce.

Hey Oliver, would you mind doing a review on trustworthy computer glasses and blue light glasses available in the UK? I am struggling to find glasses that have both the blue light filter and magnification and am struggling with eye strain staring at my computer 8 hours a day! At the moment I just have to make sure that I rest which is helping but I think I would benefit from computer glasses as additional help.

Barner glasses have a 100% blue light blocking, or 45%, i want to buy a pair for PC/monitor use. Or computer glasses don't need to have 100% blue light protection? Thank you!

I've been wearing prescription glasses for the past 10 years, would it be safe to get a pair of these glasses with my prescription and wear them everyday? Are there any downsides to wearing 24/7 computer glasses, indoors or outdoors?
@EyeInfluence
@EyeInfluence 5 жыл бұрын
Great question. You're like me, a full time glasses wearer. If you can, have 2 separate sets of glasses. One that has no blue light protection and one that does. I personally like to wear my blue light glasses only when working on a computer or other digital device for a long time, especially during the late evening hours. I'm also a supporter of getting the benefits of natural sunlight. If you only have one, get the glasses that do not have blue light filter and use "night mode" on your phone and computer to limit your blue light exposure.

@@denislav1072 hey man, i have both. Barner are more comfortable and have a better design. Scratch resistant is just a bonus. With gunnar i have 0,2 dioptire and even with clear glass i feel everything is going just a little to yellow. When it comes to blocking blue light both are good and i would say on same level. So during day im using barner and when it comes to night im using gunnar. But honestly u will be happy with both i think. If youre working with graphics and colors then definietly go to barners.

Based on your previous videos - there is a difference between Blue Light Filter glasses and Computer glasses (decentration and magnification in the most part, right?) Barner claims that their glasses are computer glasses, but there is no magnification afaik, right? So, Barner Computer Glasses are actually Barner Blue Light Filter glasses. Am I right?:) Watching your video wearing Barner Dalston / Black Noir, btw :-) Keep up the good work!

yea, gunnar has everything in the lenses, but they don't have anti-dust anti scratch ? imo blue light filter glasses on their own are useless. some people been complaining about Gunnars collecting dust or fingerprints easily that's why i don't know which brand to order. Not a lot of reviews around. Fuck.,
@EyeInfluence
@EyeInfluence 5 жыл бұрын
I must agree, the Anti-reflective coating on the gunnar lenses collected fingerprints and were not that easy to clean. I've tried a few glasses that do a better job. Pixel, Felix Gray and BARNER were all really good at resisting oils and they also cleaned really well.
@EyeInfluence
@EyeInfluence 5 жыл бұрын
I think some companies are catching on. Barner, for example, is going for the term "screen glasses" instead of computer glasses. Barner doesn't have power in their stock lenses so yes, they are blue light filtering glasses and not computer glasses as I know them from an Optician standpoint.

Refractive errors (the need for corrective lenses) is generally considered a genetic inheritance. Typically you can't reverse this. It may be possible to stop refractive errors from getting worse, though. Best thing is to have regular eye exams.

Been binging on all your videos Eye Influence. You're the best reviewer for computer glasses right now! Which is better overall: Barner or Pixel? Barner uses polycarbonate frames which is lighter; Pixel has anti-glare coating and supposedly better lens. I'm trying to get one which is most comfortable for long term wear, easy to clean, while having a high quality feel. Also, what material would you recommend for lightweight frames: polycarbonate or acetate? FYI I'm comparing www.barnerbrand.com/collections/dalston/products/dalston-tortoise-man and www.pixeleyewear.com/products/capra?variant=37972543109 Appreciate your response!

Each brand has their strengths. Barner is unique because of the clip-on option and their frames are styles much differently than Pixel. Can't say that one is better than the other because they can each do the job. Right now, i would suggestion the Barner because I'm in love with the value of the clip-on.
