Rich getting a hug from the employee he was degrading angered me. She was the one who walked out crying because he humiliated her and belittled her in front of everyone, on top of promoting dangerous intoxication just to make money. As soon as the tides turned on him, he started throwing a pity party _and was rewarded for it._ He didn't console his bartender that he treated like shit. He didn't comfort her, but she comforted him. It felt so manipulative

@kattheryn1234
@kattheryn1234 8 ай бұрын
That's what abusers do. They gaslight you to the point where you think it's all your fault and that they're the victim of you. Then you start excusing the behavior because you think it's your fault. It literally causes brain damage to the person being abused to the point where they do not have the mental ability to even understand what is really happening. The abuser makes everything your fault and keep perpetuating the cycle of abusing one day, then being decent for a week (honeymoon period), then back to the abuse. The true victim of the abuse thinks the honeymoon period is permanent "this time" and it never is. They still keep holding out hope and making excuses why they can't give up on them. It's so fucking sad.

Rich, the owner of RJ's Replays, was a bar owner who outright angered me. I can't believe he was enabling alcoholism to make money, nor could I believe he was burning through his mother's bank account. After how he degraded his staff, the last thing he deserved was consolation. Jon laying into Rich was one of the most _satisfying_ confrontations I ever witnessed.
@AaronSparvier

He started crying when he was half drunk and he didn't know he blewed his mom and dad's $700,000 for a month and he owns them over half millions of dollars for opening his RJ bar and Jon had to conversation with him and he argued at him and he starts crying during that conversation

He angered me at first too, but when I watched the whole episode I was angry at Jon because he treated him as a lifelong failure, as if failing once negates any legitimate success in life even though he was successful before the bar. And then he degraded him for crying even though the failure was getting to him This episode, and the reaction to him on this page, and the reaction to the KN episode Love Bites is a lesson on how bringing attention to men's mental health is merely empty words not an active effort
@connormccann5172

Mental health issues can destroy people, almost destroyed me once too. I was breaking down, angry, confused, engaging in self destructive behavior, and hurting those I cared about. THis is reality and if you don't care about men's mental health that's your decision, but if you want to, it's not the soft version of "Not feeling masculine enough" or things that are easy to say that make you look good.@@AaronSparvier

@connormccann5172 it....he didnt say any of what you said in that last paragraph. This isnt about "mental health", its about a moron whos blowing his parents money and is completely unapologetic about it and who would not have changed if Jon hadn't stepped in. He gives tough love, hes been doing that for 9 seasons now "would you rather play pirates ir would you rather send your daughter to college?" Comes to mind. All hes saying is its disgusting how he has the gall to do all that and then cry when confronted. Clearly he didnt feel bad about it until now! I know Jon definitely goes too far at times (the Max epusode with social media comes to my mind) but here he got what he needed. If he so happens to have mental issues, that doesnt excuse what he did, and he can hopefully get help

Wild right? I have a supportive family. They’re well off and paid for college so I’m luckier than most. Had a job in high school, bought my own car, worked throughout college to pay for food, gas, etc. Bought a house on my 23rd birthday and at age 40 I’ve never needed my parent’s help since school. Point being, a lotta parents unknowingly set their kids up for failure. Being supportive doesn’t mean financially when you’re an adult, and loving doesn’t mean you have an open check book.

Running a bar is not that hard. 1 CLEAN THAT SHIT UP. (a clean place is a happy place) 2 YOU are the owner so your employees either perform or they are OUT. 3 Hire people that know what they are doing and TEST THEM. 4 Be in your bar and do what needs to be done. (and that does not mean partying) 5 Have some base rules for your staff like NO ALCOHOL PERIOD. 6 Watch how much your personal eats and drinks (some is cool but up to a limit and they MUST note them down) 7 Do NOT be afraid to FIRE somebody who can't cut or heaven forbid steals from you. 8 Every now and then do a surprise inspection of your bar. (is it clean and up to code) 9 Your employees are not your friends - They work for YOU not the other way around. 10 Check your books at least once a week. (daily is better) 11 Watch some episodes of Bar Rescue and learn the pitfalls of so many bars going south.

Easier said than done… You can do all of things and still not have a successful bar. Things like location, advertisements, and target audience plays a part as well.. I’ve also seen bars that let go of the people that weren’t making the cut but ended up not being able to find sufficient staff to fill the roles because the business just wasn’t there and that was because the bad staff drove off the customers. Bartenders are basically commissioned..so they have to have a reason to want to work there. I hate these people that act like staff and employees are a dime a dozen. More and more people are not wanting to work in food/bar because of this mentality. It takes the personal touch out of it. Makes it cookie cutter-like…staff catch onto that. Business owners treat staff like cattle and that’s why they fail I mean if you have a successful bar, more power to ya. But if it were this easy, there wouldn’t be such thing as Bar Rescue..

The only thing my parents ever "gave me" was an education, a roof over my head, clothes on my back (got a job the summer I turned 16 and bought all my clothes for the fall school year!) and made sure I learned the most important thing I learned in my life - RESPECT FOR OTHERS!! I learned that you always show respect for your employer (no matter how much you dislike them), respect for your coworkers (again, no matter how much you dislike them - because someday you'll need a favor, to switch shifts, etc and you're going to want them to help you out, and respect for customers - because they can cost you your job!! If I fu*ked up and got in trouble, I didn't call mommy and daddy to come to my rescue. I learned to deal with my own problems and fix them myself. I NEVER (to this day, and I'm 65 yrs old!) drive drunk, got arrested, or had any trouble whatsoever with the law. No one has EVER just handed me a bar or given me a bunch of money and said "Have at it!" These idiots don't know what they've got - but they will when it's gone!!

Actually, I really don't understand how a dirty wall affects the food. I mean sure it doesn't LOOK good. But the food is on the stove in a pan, unless there are mold spores coming off he wall, I don't see what the big deal is.

When he says "There's only so many hours in a day!" So HOW MANY HOURS IS YOUR BAR OPEN?? HOW MANY HOURS DO YOU SPEND PAYING YOUR BILLS, PAYING YOUR MOM BACK WHAT SHE LOANED YOU FOR THE BAR??? HOW MANY HOURS DO YOU SPEND MAKING SURE THE PRODUCTS YOU SERVE (FOOD AND DRINKS) ARE QUALITY PRODUCTS AND SAFE TO SERVE??? I figure that number is a WHOLE LOT LESS than the hours you spend on the computer playing games and ignoring your responsibilities!!

Hello, Mr Taffer, If I was going to own a bar that served food , I would ask you to visit us before opening to give us ALL Advise to run a successful establishment.BEFORE opening. If anyone doesn't like your advice they would not work with me. Breaking even on rare occasions may happen. If it does ask Mr Taffer for advise. Remember Respect to ALL. Have a happy place where people will come.
