I was born in 1980 so I experienced them from start to finish but I was but a child. I sometimes wish I had been born in the early 70s so as to experience the 80s as a teen. But being a Xennial (as opposed to a true GenX) is great too.

Always been happy that I grew up in the 80s. I was late teens early twenties during that time and it was great. One of my friend's daughter asked me what it was like growing up then and she had a hard time understanding that we grew up without cell phones, without the internet, and that we had a great time doing it.

The awesome thing about 80s music is the One Hit Wonders (sometimes 2 or 3) and the bands/singers whose music still lives on today. I have over 300 80s/90s musics on a random playlist that I listen daily on my way home, it's just a great way to relax the mind after a day of work.

@carlgraham421218 күн бұрын
The song "Carrie" is about saying goodbye and understanding that life can change unexpectedly. The song encourages the listener to cherish and appreciate the present moments with the ones they care about. The singer is saying goodbye to someone named Carrie, but it could also refer to any situation or relationship where two people have to part and not be together again. The singer conveys the emotion of the situation by using the lyrics "Can't you see it in my eyes? That this might be our last goodbye" to emphasize the sadness of saying goodbye. The song ultimately hopes for future reunions and for everything to work out in the end.

The guitar and solo in this song was recorded by John Norum original guitarist. In the video the performance is by his replacement Kee Marcelo who imho was a better fit for the sound Europe were morphing in too . Marcelo is much more melodic and knows how to blend melody and technique as good as anyone . A perfect example is the song “superstitious” a great solo
