YES!! I've requested this many times, and I knew your minds would absolutely be blown! Great reaction you guys! You nailed it. Jeff was a legend. A little background on him; Jeff lost his eyesight at the age of 1 to retinal cancer. At age 3, he started to learn guitar. He learned to hold it in the traditional way but, later preferred to have it on his lap. He is from Canada, and had several hits here in the US. Most notably a ballad called "Angel Eyes". He also co-starred in a movie with Patrick Swayze called "Roadhouse". Sadly in 2008, Jeff lost a battle to cancer when he was once again stricken. In my opinion, he is one of the greatest guitarist ever but, is sadly overlooked. Next to the likes of Eddie Van Halen, Stevie Ray etc. Rip Jeff Healy. 😢🎸

Saw him and the band open for BonJovi in the early 90s . No one knew he was blind until he finished his set ,it blew everyone away . I was a big fan and went to see him and stayed for Bonjovi who mailed it in that night because they were burnt out from the end of a long tour.

I was 16 and one of my good friends called me and said we got to go downtown Calgary see a blind guitar player who is incredible. I don't know how we got in, but we did !. A few years later I became a stagehand and I actually got to run Spotlight for one of his shows in Calgary. Thank you for showing the footage

Jeff was blind as a baby after getting cancer in his eyes. He later got some sight back but only for a short time, till the cancer returned. As a kid, his parents gave him a guitar. He had never seen the proper way to hold one so he held it his way. He is self taught. He later died of cancer at a young age. Thanks for reacting to him as he's so much fun to watch!

Actually they removed his eyes when he was not yet one year old. He has glass eyes so he never got his sight back. The cancer did return and he died at 41.

He learned to play initially holding the guitar in the standard way but being blind he sat most of the time and the strap became an obstacle. So he then learned to play this way, strapless.

I was blessed to see Jeff open for ZZ Top in Tucson - he dropped jaws throughout the arena, and IMO he stole the show from ZZ Top. He was one of a kind and truly inspirational - I've never heard of anyone who knew him personally say a single bad thing about him, and he was a huge fan of jazz and operated a jazz radio station in Canada for many years. He is well worth diving WAY into the rabbit hole for... even his unreleased music is better than 95% of everyone else's A-game.

I worked at Bay Bloor Radio in Toronto which at the time was one of the best audio/video shop on the planet and he came in and was waiting to get his stuff from repair. I had a mixed tape with this song on it and slipped in in a blaster and turned in on as he was leaving and he smiled and gave a thumbs up. I also saw him with Jeff beck and Stevie Ray Vaughn. He sounded great but when those 2 got going it was noticeably at a different level. That is some savage company though.

Great reaction to a killer track! Jeff (RIP) was really coming up big around this time (he was 22 here). Of course, Dr. John (also RIP), was an absolute legend. Bass player is off the chain! Jeff was known to many of us Ontarians here in Canada at a young age. He was first showcased in a children's program at the age of 9. Started his first band at 15. Was fortunate to see him & his band live a couple times - and each time, they brought the house down! HIGHLY suggest: Angel Eyes, How Long Can A Man Be Strong, While My Guitar Gently Weeps (Beatles cover), I Think I Love You Too Much, and as others have mentioned, his duet with Stevie Ray Vaughn, Look At Little Sister (EPIC!)

Actually got to see Jeff & Bonnie Raitt play 'As my guitar gently weeps' at Red Rocks Amphitheater in tribute to Stevie 3 days after his death. Very emotional & riveting experience. RIP to both legends and so glad to see that Bonnie is still belting out the blues to this very day.

I remember, as a kid, the dude who tuned my piano was blind. He would walk to our house by himself. He would take as many clues that he could to get around. He would count the cracks in the sidewalks to know when he reached our house!!! The first time I saw Jeff was at an open mic at some dive on Yonge St in Toronto. I went there to support some friends who had formed a band. We were all awe struck at Jeff. There were no more than 20-30 people there.

i was so lucky to see him play live in concert in Belgium , near my home town of Antwerp, and it was absolutely fabulous! One of the best guitar players ever to walk this planet! So sad he has passed away because of his disease, but man what a guy, so talented and even funny with a sense of humour, i remember during the concert somebody in the crowd shouting the name of Ritchy Blackmore, and he reacted: Ritchy Blackmore?
