This was Jimmy at 58. He released a song last year just after his 66th birthday called Soothe Me by Jimmy Barnes and Sam Moore. Jimmy's voice is still incredible and Sam Moore is 86 and I was blown away by how good he sounds.

Bow River 2003 ringside live is one of the best live performances ever. Jimmy with his band Cold Chisel is truly amazing. Ian Moss the lead guitarist is on lead vocals in this song and on a few others that Chisel produced. Mossy is a top notch guitar player and vocalist.

This version is from the album 30:30 Hindsight (2014) It is Jimmy's 15th solo studio album - his 26th solo album (including live albums) & he was 58 years old. The kid on drums is his son. It's not done in 1 take.....Jimmy "dancing" in the background he's wearing an orange shirt & the close up of him singing he's wearing a white shirt - also, around the 11:08 & 11:14 min marks Joe's strumming isn't on the sound track (which is editing - but - in a 1 take performance you wouldn't edit out his playing.)

Jimmy is pushing 60 here. He has been performing since the mid 70's. A very successful stint with Cold Chisel till they split in 1983..reformed late 80s and then played together off and on for quite a while. He then had heaps of solo albums in several genres including blues as you can see. This is a very deep rabbit hole. GOOD LUCK 🥰🇦🇺🇦🇺

Just revisiting this video because as an Australian, I LOVE Jimmy, and this is one of his best. Phil mentions Jimmy dancing away in the background, then says that he read somewhere this was done in one take. I don't know whether they mean the music or the video, but you can clearly see Jimmy's shirt changes in the video, so the video was NOT done in one take.

Let's just say Cold Chisel wasn't impressed. For the more 'bluesy' side, try Cold Chisel 'Bow River'. This is not the original as recorded by Jimmy for his 1993 solo album titled Heat. Jimmy was 58 yo in this video and is about 68 yo now, and still performing. His daughter Mahalia is one of Joe’s back up singers, so Jimmy was visiting Joe at his guitar ranch ( where Joe teaches guitarists how to play the blues ). Planned or purely impromptu, Joe organised his house band and some crew and they filmed this performance in Joe’s private recording studio. They also did a cover of Deep Purples Lazy..... another video worth experiencing. Ps:- Heat was only Jimmy’s 6th solo album but he did a lot more with Cold Chisel before they split in 1983.

"The Allman Brothers Band - Whipping Post 9/23/1970 - Fillmore East (Official)" this is blues rock at its finest (IMhO) --The Allman Brothers Band was an American rock band formed in Jacksonville Florida in 1969 by brothers Duane Allman (founder, slide guitar, lead guitar), Gregg Allman(founder, lead vocals, keyboard, primary songwriter), as well as, Dickey Betts(lead guitar, vocals, songwriting), Barry Oakley(bass), Butch Trucks(drums), "Jaimoe" Johanson(drums). Sadly, we lost Duane Allman at the tender age of 24 yrs. old to a motorcycle accident in 1971. But we are very blessed to have his beautiful music to listen too. RIP: Duane Allman 💔🔥🎸U R Missed
