DA:O is such a landmark game to me, the little character interactions your party can get into are some of the best parts in this game. I love how personal each place can be for your characters' different Origins, that you get to (through the clan you meet in your travels) communicate with your original clan as a Dalish, you get to return to the tower and see it so wrapped up in chaos when what could have been days before you left it clean and tidy, and the intense hatred you could have for Balin when returning to Orzammar as a Dwarven noble. Or you can ignore it and systematically kill off every one of your companions leaving you the last man standing.

@solwindp78-12 жыл бұрын
If you enjoyed KOTOR, Dragon Age: Origins is indeed worth a playthrough. I would see how much you enjoy the story and gameworld from DAO as the sequels are fairly different gameplay wise and are much more action RPG focused, so you if you're not a huge fan of the setting and lore you might not like them as much. In particular DAO is the only one that was really designed to be a PC game from the start and so it controls in a much more tactical traditional RPG way similar to KOTOR. I found micromanaging teammates to be a pain in the ass in both Dragon Age 2 and Dragon Age Inquisition for various reasons and so I just turned the difficulty down and played them as straight up hack-n-slash action RPGs with an emphasis on story. DA2 was plagued with repetitive content due to rushed development, and DAI is closer to an MMO with a ton of mobs and fetch quests. Personally because I love the series and the lore I played through all of them and actually fairly enjoyed DAI despite its repetitive nature and length (to complete all the content, dlc, and quests took me ~80 hours). One thing I really enjoyed was the persistent worldstate which is reminiscent of Mass Effect where your decisions play out over the course of the series. It's not as apparent in DA2, but by the time of DAI it becomes noticeable. Note that unlike Mass Effect you cannot simply import an old save, you will have to use a website maintained by Bioware to set your particular worldstate. My controversial opinion: I would probably play through DAO, and if you liked that then skip straight through to DAI and see if you can tolerate the gameplay. Watch DA2's cutscenes as a movie. I thought DA2 meandered quite a bit.

I saw your other dragon age video, and I’m definitely late to the party, but your humor is just fuckin fantastical 💀 I found myself genuinely chuckling like emperor Palpatine in Lego Star Wars. LOVE IT!

This game was so fucking good. I was completely hooked by the story from the very start to the very end. Even the side quests felt rich in personality! I can't see myself playing it again, because I fear it might not live up to my extremely high regard for it, but I'm ok with that. I like to keep it in the past and remember it fondly, almost like I was one of the characters in the story. I never swapped out Alistair, Morrigan or Leliana because the game was so immersive that the characters almost felt like actual friends. It may sound a bit sad, but I don't see it that way. I had a rich social life outside of my PC, and in DA:O I had this slew of wonderful characters to interact and build relationships with, and I loved every second of that. Although the graphics are a bit outdated by today's standards, I hope it'll find new players for years to come!

to be fair, elves usually do shit that causes humans to treat them like second class citizens. in Witcher, they were awful to humans long before it was vice versa. and in Elder Scrolls, high elves did shit like HIDE THE MOONS THAT KHAJIIT ARE BIOLOGICALLY TIED TO IN ORDER TO GET THEM ON THEIR SIDE WHEN THEY MAGICALLY BRING IT BACK
