As a long time fan of this show(15years), daily listner, and a Palestinian american. I've always had one problem. Dan is a freedom fighter and is always trying to speak up for the opressed but had never spoken on Palestine. This was a monumental moment for me as a fan. ❤🇵🇸
@johnrainbolt675810 ай бұрын
@hanytaha5971 Could this be because there aren't many Palestinians in America? I was raised in Nebraska and you have almost 0% chance of meeting anyone that isn't a white christian. I've lived in Florida for more than 20 years now mostly in Tallahassee and compared to South Florida it's not that diverse. When I lived in the Keys I got to meet all different kinds of people, but still not many Arabs. The more people get to interact with others they learn how wrong their prejudices are. Lots of Jewish, Cuban, and Caribbean people in South Florida make it easier to learn more about those cultures. I don't know why it's so hard for Americans to see how psychotic and evil the Likud party is and that the Zionists are not like the American Jewish people they've met. But then again the average American is an imbecile.

Most all the time a debate or discussion between Muslims and Non-Muslims ends up fighting, verbally or physically. Bassem Youssef acts the opposite by being humble and giving the words a strong meaning which is a lot of power wich not many people can do that. I watched him on PBD-Podcast, where he talked about his family in the War trapped in Gaza, Adam replied he also has family in the War, in Israel so he and Bassem are in the same situation...Adam with millions in his bank account can easily take his family out of Israel without a VISA needed to buy tickets for them, how possible can Bassem take his family out of Gaza? It is far from the same. Most who stand behind and give support to Israel don't know sh8t about what is going on because they watch only mainstream media.

I truly appreciate your comment and I hope more people think like you in the west. Guarantee you that if you know more about the east you’ll be in-love with the kind and welcoming culture that you haven’t experienced yet. If you can go to KZbin and look up some young KZbinrs that have traveled to even Afghanistan say it’s unimaginable beauty and generosity of people is unmatched to any place. Also other countries in the Middle East or Africa you’ll be blown away by the love and genuinely kind people you’d meet. Here in the west we are fed one side of the story and we are to fear the bogy man and it’s sold to us as they are dangerous and wild people but you’ll actually find that they are so not different from us. Anyway sorry for this long comment but it’s great to see a wonderful view!

I’m in love with Bassem Youssef. And who doesn’t love him? I find hilarious how the host thinks that there is something wrong with Bassem for articulating his fears and insecurities. He thinks that Bassem is depressed. Well, it has nothing to do with depression but it might have to do with imposter syndrome and this when you are successful but you believe that you don’t deserve that success and that people will let you down once they know who you truly are. And the whole thing is that Bassem is a very humble soul. There is something we say in Arabic اللهم اجعلني في عيني صغيرا و في أعين الناس كبيرا, which means hoping to think of yourself worthless while others see the opposite. I love this show, truly do. I listen every day religiously, especially the last couple of years. I was red pilled before the Trump election, and this show has partly helped steer me back to being centered in my views. It’s heartbreaking, with all the talk about global warming, the far right hate, and most recently, Mike’s meltdown on a UFC fighter, that this is the first time since the week of October the 7th that this subject gets brought up again, and the first time someone stands up for the other side. I understand you have a Jewish following and Jewish people on the show, but for a show that boasts itself on being human, it’s disheartening that this is what it took just to mention that Palestinians are dying at record rates and acknowledge that there is literal genocide happening right now in the Middle East. Thank you for having Bassem on the show, but the small amount of coverage of this topic hurts. Please pledge for love for everyone, it’s an expectation at this point you have created. Love you guys, truly do. Thank you again, Dan, this was a great interview.

@@babyspider99 but OP is NOT the Israeli PM, so it’s an irrelevant, useless hypothetical to discuss. And, additionally, IMO it’s very crude to try to redirect OP’s moment of genuine, honestly and loving HUMANITY, for which they should be greeted with open arms and long hugs of deepest love and human kinship, to try to stir up more division with more pointless “whataboutism”. Love isn’t a zero sum game; it’s not like pizza. Just because someone else, or another group, gets love and attention doesn’t mean there is less for you or your pain. There’s enough for everyone! Insisting that holding space for someone else’s pain and anguish means you are “losing out” is the exact mentality that’s keep humanity stuck in this ghastly situation. Let us all seek first to understand, for it is the invitation to being understood ourselves 🙏
@08mrasoul10 ай бұрын
@@babyspider99I would suggest first understanding why you were attacked? Have you been doing something wrong prior to October 7th such as for example occupying an entire nation, placing a 17 year complete siege of 2.3 million people, imprisoning over 6000 people with over 2000 of them without any charges or trial, including hundreds did women and children, or maybe attacking and threatening holy sites? The list goes on and on. So basically, if I was an Israeli, I’d first ask myself if all the above could lead those I’m oppressing might fight back somehow? I’d ask myself how much more will I be able to do what I’m doing to these people before they fight back? In summary, I’ll figure it why this happened by addressing the root causes and try to solve them.
