True, I did likely overstate it. The newbeedrone motor connectors only match the motor connectors on newbeedrone AIOs, or we have to cut and solder. I failed to remember the geprc motors, I have a set in my storage. And I have been told that happymodel is still making the kit for the DIY UZ85, maybe that kit is where the motors are coming from. Just converted mine to HD last night. The stock mounted canopy works fine with the Walksnail 1s camera(old one with screw holes) so I'm not sure what the other mount would be for. Swapping the camera for HD seemed to add about 5.5g bringing it up to 45.83g with battery mount. I really think this blows the Flywoo Nano baby 20 away for the money/performance. The choice of motors on quads this size is very important. A bad weight to power ratio can ruin your experience, and a good setup can give so much fun. The best part is that I can now rip gates in the park or even my garden, which is much smaller than yours 😉

I hear people bashing on happymodel today but it's such a good starter drone. Just based on your video, I find the flightime to be quite short on that bass line. I printed a TKS frame (Impact-PLA from Fiberlogy) and followed your recipe. It usually flies 3 -4 minutes depending on my mood/battery. IMVHO it's better than the toothpicks and actually my most used quad, so I find very strange that nobody wanted to make that recipe a commercial success. BTW: I have screws mounted only on the front motors and I haven't noticed any problem (using aio x12 with stock BF 4.3).
@NickBurnsFPV Жыл бұрын
flight time is such a big variable. Age/storage/flights/quality of battery, type of flight, amount of throttle during the flight, its really hard for us to get much a measure on flight time. We can get close comparing the details of the battery and flight video.

It's interesting you don't seem to break the shaft on the motors? I fly the 1102 happymodel motors on a 35g 2s 2" toothpick like this and I have to use the prop screws, otherwise the shafts are gone after a few crashes. It's not great because the motors are already not that powerful for the 2" props and the added weight does matter. I want to try 1103 motors on this quad which seems to be a better fit for the 2" props. About using the screws with only one motor, betaflight does compensate for it so you don't need to worry but that one motor will be a bit slower to respond, so the flight experience will be affected. That said, probably only very experienced pilots will notice anything.
@NickBurnsFPV Жыл бұрын
what kv are the 1102s? I can only suspect the difference in our motor shaft issues is environmental or crash "style".

It's a subjective thing, but yes when comparing the nanobaby 20 and bassline to the rocket race. baby 20 needs a touch more motor and the bassline a touch less weight. This doesn't make either bad by any stretch. I can't say I know of any canopies for the nano baby 20, best option would be search thingiverse.com or printables.com for a 3d print we can print or order. Another option might be to use the crux3 canopy, which we might find under different names as it gets used in many happymodel quads. Do note, I have broken one and I have reports of others that have broken the canopy. A print might last longer.

I think the first point is what trips most people up. Bot the receiver and the radio must be on the same major elrs version. Most likely with your boxer you have 3.x.x, so we need to flash the receiver in the quad to 3.2 or something close to that at this time. Use a passphrase and that way we don't have to do the binding process. The binding process isn't secret so we can use anything that would be unique from our flying friends. I use NBURNS!. Typically if we have both on the same major version and use a passphrase we are all set.

i have to ask a question, probably already answered it, as far as optics,fit,and view . Are hd zero better in analog than the orqa v1. i love the fov and how big the screens are in my orqas, and i do want to go digital in the future with HD Zero. Ps: i gave away my orqa pilots (v2) 533 version and my fatshark dominator 2 , they went with 4 of the qwads i built from your parts.
@NickBurnsFPV Жыл бұрын
The FOV is smaller on the HDZero goggles, but the optics are far better, cleaning/sharper/crisper and colors are so much better. For me I can see each corner in the HDZero goggles, in the orcq v1 I cannot. The HDzero fov measures the same as other goggles, but the visual experience is so much better and don't have the distractions of the non screen components being seen.

Hey, a friend and me are trying to get a rocket race together but its pretty much impossible in germany. How would you adjust the bassline components to get similar performance? (We atleast got someone who can cut the carbonframe in 2.5mm)
@NickBurnsFPV Жыл бұрын
We need to drop weight. We can do that with less carbon and smaller (1102) motors. I have another video coming out soon with geprc 1102 motors. Might help making motor decisions, as I do hear often the happymodel motors don't do well when crashing on concrete, but they are also lighter than most other 1102 motors.

If you wanted to build a tanky version, I guess you could use ca glue and double up the frame on the bottom for a heavier build out.
@NickBurnsFPV Жыл бұрын
Do you clamp them together when you do that?
@sixtofive Жыл бұрын
@@NickBurnsFPV I haven't tried it myself, but I've heard from others who have done this with older twig frames that they wanted to build extra beefy. For the strongest results I would recommend clamping them, but that could be as simple as a couple bolts with nuts holding them together in alignment while the glue cures. I'd bet it would still be a significant increase in strength and rigidity to simply use a metal nut to bolt the two together underneath the stack components without any glue.

hey dude! I got a question for ya.. So i've been out of the hobby for a sec and I'm just hopping back in. I got the HDzero goggles on pre order and my Fractal75 is almost here. My original plan was to build it out with analog exactly how they're shown on their site.. but now I'm wondering if it'd be a better idea to skip buying an analog receiver for my hdzeros, save a little money and just get the hdzero nano lite setup for it. I know it'd be a lil heavier, but maybe only 3-5 grams. I'm super torn in between what way I should go, any advice?
@NickBurnsFPV Жыл бұрын
HDzero is the best option for HDWhoops. Yes the weight is noticeable but much less compared to other HD systems, especially on 1s. I think camera mounting might be the largest barrier, the typical fractal mount is made for the nano v3. There is only 1 canopy that works with the hdzero camera from the moblite7 hdzero. Or we have to use/make a 3d printed canopy.
@mckaykimball Жыл бұрын
@@NickBurnsFPV ah okay I got you. I think I might just go with the lightest/analog setup for now and eventually get a hdzero whoop setup. I think the hdzero stuff is probably gonna get a lot smaller and better within the next year anyways. Thank you for the reply!
