you gotta start hitting them with dry flies. elk wing caddis will never fail for native brookies. size 22 and up. use frogs fannie floatant. youll land 26 in a day. the hits look cooler than a bite on a nymph too. either way, loved the vid

Drove almost 8hrs up there for the weekend. Camped out in my 4runner. It was raining half the time. Beautiful area, some of those remote lakes are rough to fish. But I saw some Beautiful fish and landed a nice brookie. Also the mosquitoes are no joke.

I would definitely fish dry flies in the creek. They work as well or maybe even better than nymphing in those scenarios. They are a lot more fun than nymphs. Still a great video! Beautiful fish in that creek for sure!

The mountain sure creates its own weather. I expect afternoon t-storms almost daily in the late summer out there. Cool trip and some really nice fish from the creek.

On the note of 4$ onions. People please don’t vote the cackler in next time. Let’s bring back decent prices on food for us to have adventures with.

What length of fly rod are you using on this little stream?

9 ‘ 5wt. Not ideal but it works. A 7 ft 3 or 4 wt would be better
