That is a good enough explanation. There is actually some logic behind this. His suit can take the heat and as he enters the lower atmosphere he actually slows down to terminal velocity. Terminal Velocity is were a fall object no longer is getting faster or slower. Terminal Velocity at about 10,000 feet at 130 MPH. He uses his cape to alter his course on the way down and slow down and judging by the long skid in the snow he contacted the ground at a very shallow angle. People don't understand in the end it is no different than a regular parachute.

They also slow down relatively quickly as the atmosphere thickens. There are a handful of in real life people who have done this, albeit from the stratosphere instead of outside the atmosphere. *BUT,* in theory (according to physicists) reentry from a stationary object from just above the atmosphere (as in Batman's case) is completely possible. So there you go. Also, Batman's suit is very well insulated and was already explained to be extra kevlar and extreme heat resistant (think about it, the guy fights firefly regularly) so there's no issue in his trunks being able to withstand that amount of heat.
