The true essence of Batman. He can never just lay down, fall in love and live good. He has a job to do that never stops. And he sacrifices being alone to fight for justice. 🦇🦇🦇
@lisardo3 жыл бұрын
Yeah. I can't blame the guy for wanting to have a relationship with a woman. But he honestly can't and should stop trying. Because "his job" is just too important, and more important than them. And every time he ends up breaking their hearts, and he himself feels empty (emotionally). I recall this one BTAS episode where he falls in love with a woman and was going to marry her, so he decided he had to give up being the Bat. Tho at the end it was a trick and gives up on the marriage and becomes the Bat once again. Even Spiderman faces this with Mary Jane. Which is why in SpiderMan 2, even tho he tried giving up being Spiderman to be with her, he soon realizes he CAN'T stop being Spidey! And yet he passes her off again. Tho, I do like what they did there, as MJ decided he's worth the risk to be with. With Batman however, it goes MUCH deeper than that with all the childhood scars he carries. He's waaaaaay more obsessed and dark than good 'ol Spidey! Even love can't fully fix him.

"He's out there right now and I've got to go to work". Keaton is the goat Batman. He set the standard giving Batman the whispering voice everyone else copied that after he started it. Before that , Adam West and the cartoons Bruce Wayne and Batman both sounded the same. There was no distinguishing voice differences between the two characters. Christopher Reeve did the same for Clark Kent and Superman. Giving characters two different voices and personas.

Maybe it's just because I grew up with Burton's Batman, but this scene hits me way harder than anything they did with the relationship between Batman and Rachel in the TDK trilogy. @mortenpotzdidler2790 Жыл бұрын
@Rebecca-oh5yh That's a good point. There's a kink to Burton's Batman that is totally absent in Nolan's. I'd also add to the original comment above that the difference between Burton's films and Nolan's is an expressionist bent: Burton visualizes thematic and psychological elements while Nolan verbalizes them. The former is very arguably more cinematic and sophisticatd.

I like how Keaton does his voice in this scene. It's not his Batman voice, but it's not his slightly awkward Bruce Wayne voice from earlier in the film. This is a blend of both, a perfect middle ground. He's Bruce Wayne, but he's also very Batman here, controlled, self-assured, confident, absolutely serious. The Christian Bale/Christopher Nolan movies were near perfect, but one of the things that irritated me even back in the 2000s was that gravely, growling voice that Bale does when he's Batman. Keaton never did that kind of over the top acting.

I know just about everyone hates this scene but if you were paying attention during the rest of the film, it does make sense. Alfred probably assumed that Bruce had told Vicki the truth because of that conversation they had before Bruce went to her apartment. And, on top of that, Knox had just shown Vicki the newspaper story about Bruce's parents and she immediately figured out the big secret. So, when she goes to the batcave, she's not surprised because she already figured it all out.
