They did have some superior tactics back in the day. For example, they won most battles by luring the enemy to fire a volley at long distance, and charging between volleys and firing just before they got to the enemy line, then charging into melee, thus creating panic among the enemy still trying to reload.

The Bavarian Uprising; Battle of the Three Empires. In the lull after Napoleon's treaty with Tsar Alexander, the Bavarian nobility seizes the opportunity to declare itself free of Napoleonic rule and amassed an army. Unwilling to let an ancient region go, the Emperor Napoleon sends two armies, joined with a Russian force under Tsar Alexander to nearby Wurttemberg and press their own armies into service, hoping to prevent notions of rebellion from spreading throughout Germany. The outnumbered Bavarians, rather incredibly, manage to break out their armies from encirclement, moving closer to Central Germany while hoping to gain outside help. Help they received from the ever cunning Great Britain, Spain, and even Sweden, each of which had their own stakes in the battle. In the fields outside the Bavarian border, the armies finally meet in pitched battle, deciding the fate of Bavarian independence from the French hegemony. The massive battle was brutal, and the main benefactors of the Spanish troops present in the battle, Britain, are crushed by the French cavalry, threatening to end their uprising then and now. But the Swedish, unknowingly present to the Wurttemberg army, sprung their trap, and news of this brilliant maneuver rally the Spanish forces to hold the line against both French armies, assisting their Bavarian allies against the Russians. Far from home, far from glory, the fledgling Bavarian alliance prevail, routing both French armies and handing Napoleon an embarassing defeat, one that might have led them to attack Russia a year later... Sledge115 I think it's hilarious that Spain, Sweden, and GB were able to march their forces to Central Europe to support a minor rebellion. Spain would had to have gone through large chunks of France, GB and the Swedes would have to go through a large part of French allied Northern Europe.

Interestingly enough, Bavaria is Germany's version of Texas with its own unique Germanic ideality. They did support the Austro-Hungarians for the most part since their inception yet like Sweden during WW2 had to play with both sides of France & Austria, given their deep rivalry that dates back to Louis XVI - The Sun King's reign against the Habsburgs & the wars of succession that played a role for Spain's future, and the later involvements of Sweden & Britain in the 9 Years War against France.

It's really sad when a team you're rooting for starts to do very well, but just cocks it up later in the battle. I mean, when the French and Russians slaughtered that Spanish army in the beginning through a pincer movement just using their cav, I was really impressed. Then the British player got double teamed and flanked putting them out of the game. At this point I thought alright, the Russian and French armies just need to defeat Bavaria, and Wruttenburg had to hold its own against Sweden (which shouldn't have too hard considering they were on the defensive and had a building to use as support). But apparently the Spanish player had 2,600 soldiers in total (no idea how they managed to get that many units), and that the army in the beginning was only a fraction of their overall force. Russia then screwed up their positioning, failed to take the building the Spanish were holed up in, and decided to do a yolo charge with the French (which failed horribly). Due to Wruttenburg's failure to defend France had to send in units (which weakened the centre attacking force against Bavaria). Nevertheless, it was a great and interesting battle.

They had it in the bag, they killed a whole ass army and had better positioning (it was literally two v one on UK while Spain did nothing in beginning); they also had a massive cav advantage that could've been employed so well to crush their entire opposition, but they blundered way too big - got wayyy too carried away. The best plays were by Sweden imo, great work over there.

Bavaria and France were partners since 1806 i think cause of Napoléon having Bavaria be granted to Kingdom, but after Napoléons failiure in Russia Bavaria switched sides.

At 15:50 I look at the map and I can predict that the swedes will probably win the battle for the red team, if they walk faster. In conclusion there's no excuse for losing this if you're the French alliance. You had the center and properly went 3v4 early with the British Commander failing to command. The Russians lost this one for them as they really accomplished nothing except giving the Spaniards target practice.
