Hey guys I made a mistake in my video. I did not edit out 43:48 - 45:09. This video almost made me quit youtube lol. I had to record it twice, and on the 2nd time the battle crashed. It took an hour to fix lol. You can kinda hear my frustration in the part I forgot to edit out

It would be nice from you to do "tactical overviews" during such massive battles. maybe every 15 minutes, show a birdseye view and explain what's going on. The battle will be less confusing for viewers and for you as well. Something similar to what you did after the game crashed. love your vidz. keep em coming))

omg this was so epic, I put my bets from the start to the prussians and they were crush, while the French and the Polish did so well, I think is safe to say that the Polish and French players were the MVP (The French side to the Polish) but the French player against Bavaria played very smart, it was a very good game to watch. Thank you Apollo !

6:35 Half a league, half a league, Half a league onward, All in the valley of Death Rode the six hundred. “Forward, the Light Brigade! Charge for the guns!” he said. Into the valley of Death Rode the six hundred. II “Forward, the Light Brigade!” Was there a man dismayed? Not though the soldier knew Someone had blundered. Theirs not to make reply, Theirs not to reason why, Theirs but to do and die. Into the valley of Death Rode the six hundred. III Cannon to right of them, Cannon to left of them, Cannon in front of them Volleyed and thundered; Stormed at with shot and shell, Boldly they rode and well, Into the jaws of Death, Into the mouth of hell Rode the six hundred. IV Flashed all their sabres bare, Flashed as they turned in air Sabring the gunners there, Charging an army, while All the world wondered. Plunged in the battery-smoke Right through the line they broke; Cossack and Russian Reeled from the sabre stroke Shattered and sundered. Then they rode back, but not Not the six hundred. V Cannon to right of them, Cannon to left of them, Cannon behind them Volleyed and thundered; Stormed at with shot and shell, While horse and hero fell. They that had fought so well Came through the jaws of Death, Back from the mouth of hell, All that was left of them, Left of six hundred. VI When can their glory fade? O the wild charge they made! All the world wondered. Honour the charge they made! Honour the Light Brigade, Noble six hundred!

Amazingly huge battle Apollo, cheers for uploading more of this mod :) A little bit of trivia for you, napoleonic rifles are actually shorter, by quite a large degree, than the muskets used by standard infantry. Although in general larger barrels equal a more accurate weapon, this is not the case with muskets because they where smooth bore whereas the rifles were rifled (which im sure you knew) so tonnes more accuracy in a rifle but a far slower reload (its way harder pushing down a lead ball wrapped in leather and a charge into a twisty barrel than a smooth one). Another tit-bit of info, to make up for the shorter firearms, riflemen were given 'sword-bayonets' essentially longer bayonets than the regular infantry, so that the rifle could still be used effectively in melee. Although these bayonets were cumberson they actually allowed riflemen the ability to form square or engage in hand to hand combat just as effectively as regular infantry. Also rifle regimental officers who were involved in combat (lieutenants ect.) would not be provided a sabre/sword as other officers would, because their bayonet could be used exactly like a sword (although a lot of rich officers bought there own and used them anyway). Obviously Napoleon Total War makes all skirmishers piss in melee in order to balance the game, and increase the rock, paper, scissor strategy of it, however I think its quite interesting that light infantry and skirmishers were actually used to fill infantry tasks in melee :) P.S. also if im not mistaken the jeager regiments used by many austrian/germany/prussian armies didnt actually carry rifles, the actually carried muskets and the term 'light infantry' or indeed the literal translation of the word 'jeager' to 'hunter' it due to their deployment rather than their weaponry. From what I know the Brits were the only army of the time (european army that is) which had dedicated riflemen, 60th and 95th reg. of foot I believe :) P.P.S. loved the video, as you can tell this is one of my fav time periods!! Keep it up boyo :D

hey apollo, know this is a year old, but just wanted to clarify something you said at about 11:00. The rifles of jäegers were actually shorter than the regular smoothbore, not longer, so as to allow them to fight more effectively in woods and what-not, where a really long rifle would impede a rapid response to a new threat. Only the american frontier riflemen, which mostly hunted small game like beavers for their furs in their spare time and were accustomed to long periods of stalking wild prey, had longer rifles than the smoothbores of the regular line infantrymen, in stark contrast to their european opposites, which were generally modelled on the german jäegers and their short rifles. cheers, keep doing what you do!
@Draythur
@Draythur 6 жыл бұрын
PS! It would not even matter if the rifle was longer or not... a rifle is automatically 10 times as accurate and long range capable as a smoothbore. even a rifled pistol beats a smoothbore by about 2/3rds of the effective range :)
