Go back and watch the scene when Tigh confronts Starbuck at the piano. When she turns back to face the piano, we see that she was at the piano alone.

I think The Plan, Caprica, and the Blood and Chrome mini series are worth watching if you want more BSG-centric media to watch!

Very few TV shows achieve this. The people you love and trust at the start, you hate or distrust at the end. The people you hate and distrust that the start are the only ones you love and trust at the end. TV shows rarely get written this well.

There is a pretty popular fan theory that Daniel (or some version of him) was Starbuck's father for sure. But oh this episode. It is so beautiful and heartbreaking .

@@CasualNerdReactions Ron Moore pushed back on that and mentioned in interviews/at conventions that they never intended for people to think that. But I choose to keep it in my heart because it just feels right. And as far as I'm concerned, where the writers leave a plot hole, fans are free to fill it with head canon. 😅

​​​@@CasualNerdReactionsEllen does mention that Daniel was artistic and a musician is definitely artistic. It makes sense for him to teach her the same song that activated the final 5(4). She has died and returned, like a cylon. Even if the show runners say otherwise, it honestly explains a lot if she's Daniel's half cylon child.

Ron Moore refers to people who put forward those theories as the Cult of Daniel. And you know what? Daniel is a fascinating character, despite never appearing, but he most certainly is intended to be long dead, and doesn't factor into the show more than he has been presented to.

With Starbucks dad being a celestrial being. With the celestrial beings guiding humans and cylons to their eventual destiny.

When this show first aired I had seen the original BG in the late 70's and it was so-so. So I ignored this reboot until the second half of the 2nd season and then was hooked entirely. I think this isn't just one of the best sci-fi tv shows ever it is also one of the best dramas ever on tv. And it was indeed bittersweet to watch the last few episodes just as you are finding out.

🎶🎶My mother was a music Professor, R.I.P., and I firmly believe in my soul that music is magical, for more reasons than I can properly express. I know what it feels like to hear a piece your parent played on the piano and how emotionally triggering it can be...it's very bittersweet how music can move us and activate memories that are hardwired yet difficult to retrieve...then poof like magic ..the song or music starts and you are instantly transported. I feel for Starbuck and all those who have lost a parent too soon in life.💚

There are plot-driven stories and there are character-driven stories. This story is driving towards a conclusion with these final episodes and this episode is just a means to prepare for that conclusion and set everything into place. But it takes advantage of all the character building that has happened up to this point and each person's motivations make sense to create an amazing drama and a great story.

Angels were real & played a real role in the classic BSG. This series has made more extensive use of them. Starbuck died. Who says technology brought her back? The paranormal has always been part of this show! Also: please review Caprica, the prequel series to this show. I missed a third of it when it was on SyFy.

That's the sad thing about Helo's love for Athena. Her memories can be accessed and unless he knows it's not her he and everyone else can be decieved. Because they'd know how she speaks, what she likes, who she likes. That's why when the other eight was massaging his shoulder, it was exactly how Athena would do it, but he knew it wasn't her so he could tell. With Boomer, he couldn't tell because he didn't know.

If you don't want it to be over, you don't have to let it be! There is still the telemovie "The Plan," a whole season of "Caprica" and the webisode/telefilm "Blood & Chrome," all worthy continuations of BSG!

So Kara is a human/Cylon hybrid, right? The original Hera. Only the original Kara died on Earth, and THIS Kara is...something else. Either a Cylon resurrection or something else entirely. It's so twisty.

I love this show, and have loved this reaction series. In the future, you should watch Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. Ideally you should watch season 3 of Star Trek: The Next Generation first...but DS9 is really a stand alone show. Also, The best Star Trek series by far.

Totally agree ds9 is the best of the trek, but season 1 and 2 of TNG are not as bad as people make out and some banger episodes in those 2 seasons.

Boomer, worst sister ever. The other 8s have reason to put her on the long side of a short airlock. That jump, the first time I screamed and it still hurts to watch the old girl take that wound from within at a traitor's hands. And EVERYONE was thinking that this was Kara's dad Daniel. Imagine how that would have effected her mother. But RDM says no, and he is the creator, so.... But it's a good hope.
