I had asked this question previous about the engine dress up washers. How did you get them over the standard bolts as they have a secondary flange around the standard bolt. Thanks if you can help
@BayCityRestorations3 жыл бұрын
I replaced the hardware as well to standard bolts with no flange. I put a rubber washer behind the dress up washers to make sure there was a nice seal when they tightened down.
@Rhodesy11083 жыл бұрын
@@BayCityRestorations Thanks Guys. You don't have the spec of the replacement bolt do you? Or is is just a flanged hex bolt to the same length as the original;

Great job, by the way, wich red and aluminion screws are? where can i buy them to fix on my k100 16v, are they for it o r i have to make any modification? thanks in advance
@BayCityRestorations3 жыл бұрын
I have the washers linked in the description of the video. You will need to buy new hardware to use these since the original k100 bolts have a lip on them for the rubber grommet.

Great job, congratulations, but why didn't you show how you painted with black and didn't cover yellow and blue ??
@BayCityRestorations4 жыл бұрын
I sprayed the blue, taped it off with the green tape, then sprayed everything black, and then removed the tape. Lastly put clearcoat over all of it.

Hey man! Awesome work, looks gorgeous! If i may ask a question. How did you approach the part with the heat sinks and oil level sight glass. That part is already black on my bike, but very worn so i want to paint that aswell. Did you sand everything down or just cleaned and painted over it? Thanks and stay safe!
@BayCityRestorations3 жыл бұрын
I would give it a really good clean with degreaser/acetone. If the old surface is really bad I use a wire wheel on a drill or dremel tool to remove any flaking paint. Then just repaint it a good engine enamel paint. The good thing about that paint is it’s pretty thick so little imperfections are covered.

Nice job but from the title I am missing checking the internals, like pistons, piston rings, bearings, valve train, oil pump... so it is just a looker for me.
@BayCityRestorations3 жыл бұрын
Valves were adjusted and oil pan was replaced due to previous owner stripping the the oil drain plug. Engine was low mileage so there was no need to dig deeper into the internals.
