The title is awesome! I showed my wife. You have it good, you both move at the same pace. My wife is a fitness instructor and her idea of hiking is get to the top as fast you can, take one phone pic at the top, check the step counter, drink water and head down. Meanwhile, I am stopping at every brook, laying on my belly like Josh in the video. So now-a-days she teaches classes on Saturdays and I hike. Good stuff as always.

All my friends are trekkers. I do join them rather I have to join them. Its the bond. So when we trek , I look for birds, walk slow, and get bashed by them. But they are my biggest supporters. They even carry my camera when it gets tough for me. Last month we did a snow trek in a birding hotspot. Unfortunately we didn't encountered any bird due to snowfall. My friends carried my 3kg kit as I was affected by Altitude. They went ahead and reached destination. I arrived later. I got to see Alpine accentor bird and because my friends helped me , I was able to photograph the bird. So I say its not good for hikers to be with Bird photographer but its definitely good for us.

....Or ANY other types of photographers - UNLESS they're willing to assist you with your compositions and be patient with you at the same time. I've found that having someone aside you (me) is that you're always worried about where that other person is...Is he/she safe? How far away are they? Are they getting shots in a better location? The questions you ask yourself seems endless thus robbing you of your time and enjoyment while trying to get that one great shot. It's about time someone put out a video like this! Great job!!

Josh and Katie, Leslie and I frequently say the journey is the destination. It is not about the length of the journey but the experiences along the way. If anything, we're probably even slower than you all. Every mushroom, bird, mammal, wildflower, bee, butterfly, snake, frog (Ok, you get the idea) is deserving of a closer look and appreciation. Some days we make 5 or 6 miles, some days we make 500-600 yards. Length of the journey doesn't matter.

I one of those plans today! 🤣 Had this grand idea and plan to go to my local Fish and Wildlife Area and set up on the south shore of one the ponds to photograph some water birds (ducks, geese, herons, extra). Well never did set up spot. Did walk around a bit and spent a couple hours in 2 spots creeping up and watching and photographing 2 birds I never seen before! The blue-winged teals were way too far out but was fun to watch them feed and chase each other. None of the photos are anything special but it was fun and amazing to see so many different species of birds today! Four that I never seen before! I'm sore and tired now from it and was out couple/ few hours 🤷♂️ longer than planned; but, guess that's pretty normal for me 😁. Great video and looks like a fun hike to go on! Would how far I might get🤔🤔🤣? Happy Easter to you and everyone!

Omg loved this video, too funny. Had to get my husband to watch it, as I am the one slowing us down all the time on our hikes to take pictures. He definitely had a chuckle! Most of the time he is fascinated at all the little things I spot to take pictures of. As a photographer your eyes are always looking for that little bird or how the colour or texture of the bark looks on a particular tree. Really a million different things…… so many fascinating things to discover if you just slow down to see them!

I get it. I have been given the name of Lone Wolf by my family because I chose to drive alone and burn my own gas rather go with a family group in one vehicle to hiking areas. Maybe a 20 mile drive from the valley home to the Continental Divide trails. At the end of the hike, they load up and get back home as fast as possible. The Lone Wolf putts back down 20 miles of forest stopping at every view and to watch and shoot every critter. None of the others get that. I am on vacation at a special place I seldom see. The Lone Wolf will get back to home base much, much, later :) I hope they like what's on tv.

Great video Josh and wonderful pictures!! Nature photography is so personal that anybody do it differently, with their "times" and for that reason I prefer to stay outdoor on my own ☺

Another great video. On top of these beautiful images great choice of music Josh! (from. professional musician the compliment is worth double!). Don't worry about that rock, in the end is the journey that counts. Once you get there, there'll be immediately another rock capturing your attention anyway... enjoy the journey!

@@BayouJosh I can tell... film music is very important to set up the mood and convey a specific mood. One must take great care with that. And you do. Bravo!

What a beautiful and wonderful trip. Everyone should slow down and learn to enjoy the world around them the way you two do. Would love to sit around a campfire chatting with you good folks.

@@BayouJosh - I'm sure it would be wonderful, and I would if I could. But your lesson here is such a powerful one. It's not the destination that's important - it's the journey.

LOL!! You and Katie sound just like Joel and I! Yeah, nobody wants to hike with us either! lol Yet, going through our photos at the end of the day, makes up for us not having human hiking buddies. Our two pups do fill that gap, though.

Just thought I would let you know that the most outstanding bird photos of incredibly rare species are found one mile from the end of the climb. Perhaps you can start at the top. Wonderful video.
