BBC trans scandal - Head of Sport Alex Kay-Jelski humbled by Sharron Davies & Martina Navratilova

There was scandal at the BBC this week - don't worry, the kids are safe - this was the BBC's recently-appointed head of sport Alex Kay-Jelski who came under fire for claiming sporting legends Sharron Davies and Martina Navratilova are "not experts" on the subject of trans athletes.
Except they are. Sharron has even written a book on this exact subject.
Alex also made some dodgy comments around race, suggesting that having separate categories for trans athletes was comparable to having 'special categories for Jamaican sprinters and Ethiopian marathon runners as their genetics has been shown to give them an advantage over their rivals'.
So he's claiming that Jamaican and Ethiopian people are as radically genetically different to other ethnicities are as males are to females?
I don't think even Hitler went that far.

Vague memory of reading an account of a tennis match set up by the Daily Telegraph back in the days of 'equal pay for women' (about 40 years ago). Ms Navratilova had been matched against a male player who beat her in straight sets, it was then revealed that the male player was seeded something like 46th in the world and wasn't eligible to take part in the men's competition for that year. Also, since he trains for five sets and had only played two, in theory he could probably have played that years women's runner up immediately after beating Navratilova and likely beaten her too.
