Her wanting a BBL probably stems directly from the way the black community places so much emphasis on having a big butt and big hips. Black girls get teased at early ages for not having a butt even from their own family members. Most black men talk about big butts constantly. Most black women talk bad about other women with small butts. Having a big butt is ingrained in most black girls heads at very early ages. Not having a big butt and hips can make any woman feel less than but especially black women because of the stereotype that all black women have big butts which isn't true. Some women are ashamed of the bodies that God gave them because society has embedded beauty standards that aren't necessarily obtainable for everyone. No matter how much you work out you can't change an apple body type into a pear or hourglass body type. It's just not possible. Instead of people bashing this woman and women like her maybe start being nicer to people with her body type. Most women with her body type don't get treated all that well. The black community as a whole needs to stop making jokes about women who don't have big butts because it is damaging to many girls self esteem, self worth, and emotional wellness. Unless we really tackle body image and the "no booty" shaming in the black community then more girls are gonna put their lives at risk just to get the big butt that black people praise. This has been a problem before Instagram or any of the other social media sites so we can't place all the blame on them. We need to change the way we talk to and about each other. We need to lift the stigma off of having a little booty or no booty at all because that is the root of the problem.
@RebeccaCollazo1135 жыл бұрын
You're absolutely right. And the sad part is that, for black and hispanic women, even when they are very slim in their teens and 20s, the hips and booty will eventually come in and if we already had our body altered by that point, we can end up with abnormally large hips and booty instead, which is actually bad for the joints and lower back and makes us look older. I think we just need to be patient and focus on staying fit and healthy

Loyalty IsLife so true. One of my friends public shamed me for having a “white girl butt” and it affected my self confidence for the rest of my teenage years. Well, I got into spirts and powerlifting and my glutes just damn near quadrupled along with my quads and I got nice abs and all. Just hit the gym, and take care of your self, I will never have a huge but and I don’t want one, I love my body because it’s my body. Big booty culture is so deep in the black community but the ironic thing is that today, white girls have just as much hips and ass as the average black girl. And the black men who pressure their own women to get bigger butts actually end up more attracted to a white or racially ambiguous woman with a huge but because to them it’s like a unicorn.

OMG I absolutely feel so much respect for the male doctor. As an American Black woman it frustrates me when everyone acts as if America is the only place where things are done right. The doctor featured here is honest about the ability to have a successful surgery in other countries as along as you can communicate and check credentials. I also appreciated that he respected what the procedure meant to her as a Black woman but lovingly disagreed with her need for it. I wish more doctors were this understanding, compassionate and HONEST.

So even people who have never watched porn a day in their lives end up still being negatively impacted by it.

Everybody needs to log off of social media and enter back into the real world. When you look around at your everyday people who are working and making a living, 99% of them have normal average bodies. Celebrities and social media influencers make up that 1% and being on instagram everyday will really make you think that it's everyone. It's not. Get off of social media! If you want a good body, work for it, it's easier said than done I know but everyone who has achieved great bodies from hard work appreciate their bodies more because they know how much they suffered to get that, and they are so satisfied with themselves. I know that not everyone has the genes to develop a specific shaped booty by working out but it still trumps surgery anyday. Love yourselves guys

I'm not knocking anyone who does get cosmetic procedures but I also agree with the doctors that you have to consider the risks, the expensive upkeep (because one time is not enough to maintain these types of procedures over the years), and the fact that it's only a temporary trend or solution to body image issues that could be coming from social media influences or other serious health/mental concerns. She was gorgeous and this type of research can really help people make the best choice for themselves. Also a tip for people on weight loss journeys is to make your goals more activity focused rather than appearance; a goal to be able to run or gain flexibility, learn a dance really well etc. Believe it or not we tend to feel the positive effects of being fit long before we see the physical changes and focusing on how much more energy, strength, and agility you're gaining can be give you prolonged motivation to continue.

Going to the gym is going to give you better results since I started going gym not only did it help me physically it also helped me mentally. Surgery doesn’t really do that it helps you physically but not mentally. Surgery will always look like surgery and whats the point if you’re gonna have to go gym after to maintain it 🤷🏾♀️

I'm so glad she didn't go through with the surgery. Her body is amazing already. Many girls wish they had her figure. And Her smile in the end of the video demonstrates that she never really needed the surgery to be happy.

I love that you showed both side because a lot of other influencers only show the glamorous side. Not to throw shame on them because that's the only side they experienced. As a health professional I love that you did your research and spoke personally with professionals and patients. This was a very good and informational video without shaming anyone. Keep up the great work and being and amazing woman 🥰🥰 Singed New subscriber

This young lady is such a beauty. I would recommend though, that in addition to healthy eating and exercise she make some appointments with a mental health professional. This way she can really identify the root of her insecurities and thus get assistance in addressing them. As a helping professional I truly believe that people are being failed when people urge them to risk their lives and health like this but no one ever truly asks how they are doing psychologically and emotionally. What ends up happening is shortly after the surgery they tend to feel better but then all the same feelings of insecurity comes back with a vengeance. These matters need to be addressed. I wish her luck as she moves forward.

It’s so true I’m not black but Latinas are known for being curvy also. Every woman in my family naturally has large boobs a tiny waist big hips and booty and I have none of that. I got my dad’s body, muffin top and small legs. Not trying to be funny, but I’ve always been the butt of all my family’s jokes. I’ve wanted this surgery since I was like 15 because I always felt I wasn’t “Latina” enough because of my body. I cried when my trainer at my gym told me I could never have the body I desperately wanted cuz in his words that body is either paid for or genetics. I really appreciate this video.

It’s so weird for me this trend. I have a big butt bc it runs in my family. Tbh I never liked the male attention especially at a young age. I’m always wearing baggy clothes to hide it. I’ve gotten harassed on the street and at work because of it. Why would you want a big butt I don’t understand. What does it give you exactly. People treat you like your a piece of meat.

Look these girls want more and I want less smh. Her butt and hips was already popping, with some healthy eating and a good work out they would stand out way more with the lost of the belly/side fat. So for the same money and time spend healing from getting the BBL, you could save more money and less time getting into a desirable figure with a trainer.

As a man for me it was about my penis when I was in my early 20s. Many people are influenced by what they see, I was influenced by porn and what I assumed women wanted a man's size to be. I got desperate my final year of college when I wanted to get the penile enlargement done. I educated myself on the risks involved, because people only focus on the final product and not how this can impact you psychologically. At the time I was excited that I can't be like the men in porn and get any woman I wanted until reality hit me and things impacted my choice. My mother, who I now have an excellent relationship with, got cancer and was understandably fearful about what was happening to her. I took a few months off from school to be with my mom, as the only child I am, and helped her through radiation and so on. That event basically put my priorities back on track and when I got back to school I placed myself in therapy to talk abut my esteem and these insecurities. Now 8 years later I am reaping those benefits. Gave up porn, focused on my career, started teaching kids, and just getting involved. Having a massive penis would have contributed zero to my life and I as a man am not defined by my penis. I have mad flaws don't get me wrong, but seeing myself in a healthy way and having the self respect to not mutilate myself over vanity didn't seem worth it. Sometimes we need life to slap us in the face and give us a reality check, my mother's cancer and recovery process was enough to derail that mindset I had and getting myself the help I needed was to my benefit. Everyone is beautiful regardless of what we think we lack. Just be happy with what the good Lord, or whoever you believe in, blessed you with. - Stefan H.
