The biased parameters are quite interesting. @halfbloodprincess9893 жыл бұрын
Do you really think these studies you're talking about have "biased parameters?" A biased parameter would render any study's results invalid, and it's nearly impossible to publish such a study in a redeemed scientific journal, as it would fail the peer-review. If you've found a biased parameter, you can email the journal, and they'll have to publically retract the study (this is bad for the journal, as they'll lose credibility in their peer-review process, but they'll have to do it to not lose all credibility). A good example would be 'The Lancet' retracting the Wakefield-study in 1998.

Most of this video does, I believe, a good job of sympathetically capturing Philipp's perspective on the issue. Where it runs into problems most is when the reporter tries to fill in criticisms with what "some people say." I think this was done to try to achieve a neutral tone, but it wasn't the right way to do that. Another issue was casually throwing the whole "manosphere" together when Philipp is clearly not a PUA or a MGTOW and to my knowledge the ICMI saw few people from these groups. Of the critics who were brought in for discussion/interview, Graham seemed to agree more than not, and as for Ms. Farrell, what she said shed a bit of light on how she and I believe much of the feminist-affirming academic world feels about the freedom to carry and express opposing perspectives.

Always talk about women’s positive qualities, contributions and achievements. Never talk about women’s flaws or failures. Always talk about men’s flaws and failures. Never talk about men’s positive qualities, contributions or achievements. Talking about women’s positive aspects is a positive thing to do. Talking about men’s positive aspects is an insinuated criticism of women. "Why women make better managers" is a great title for an article. "Why men make better managers" is a great trigger for a thermonuclear reaction. Talking about the poor behaviour of men is a social duty. Talking about the poor behaviour of women is hate speech. Women have every right to talk about men’s issues and to tell men how they need to think and behave. Men have no right to talk about women’s issues or to suggest how women should think or behave. When making sweeping disparaging or derogatory comments about men, just add a snide and insincere, #notallmen, to avoid accountability. Under no circumstances is #notallwomen an acceptable scope-limiting clarification for any critical statement about women. It is important to be ideologically fluent in the ever-expanding lexicon of nebulous socially-engineered terms (e.g. the patriarchy, power structures, objectification, the male gaze, mansplaining, internalised misogyny, benevolent sexism). It is important that these terms are aggressively asserted as axiomatic in order to discourage challenge and reasoned analysis. The wage gap is real. But never allow the wage gap to be statistically adjusted for relevant covariates such as occupation, hours worked, time taken out of the workforce (e.g. due to lifestyle choices such as having children). We need more women in STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics)... ...So say women who dodged STEM fields in favour of gender studies. Men are never ‘accountable’ for their poor behaviour, no matter how much we call them to account for it and condemn them for it. Women’s poor behaviour can be accounted for by various exonerating forms of victimhood (e.g. misogyny, internalised misogyny, the patriarchy) perpetrated by men. Women always have good reasons for their poor behaviour. Men only ever have poor excuses for their poor behaviour. Humans are the product of hundreds of millions of years of biological evolution in which sexual reproduction is a major element. But we need to ignore the science of our own biology and, instead, ascribe all human behaviour to confected social constructs such as 'patriarchal power structures'. A woman has an affair because the partner in her relationship was failing in his responsibility to fulfil her valid emotional needs and, in doing so, was denying her the happiness that she deserves. A man cheats on his partner because he is a selfish, lying scumbag. A man whose partner had an affair should have seen the relationship road signs and the fact that he didn't demonstrates that he had, effectively, 'left the relationship', in an emotional sense, before the so-called infidelity occurred. A woman whose partner cheats on her is understandably blindsided by the deceit, making his actions all the more reprehensible. Women do not have ‘a voice’, no matter how much women, and everyone else, talks about women. No-one needs to ask whether men have this ‘voice’ thing, and no-one needs to care and, if they do, they need to be quickly condemned and excluded. Two female TV co-presenters: Not a problem. Two male TV co-presenters: Not permitted. When a man enters into a relationship with the intent of obtaining money, it warrants media exposure. When a woman enters into a relationship with the intent of obtaining money, it is not newsworthy. When women are over-represented in achievement, it is because they are superior. When men are over-represented in achievement, it is because of misogynistic discrimination. When women fail to achieve, something must be done to help them. When men fail to achieve, they only have themselves to blame. If women are advantaged in some way, it is likely due to them being victims of 'benevolent sexism'. If men are advantaged in some way, it is only ever because they are the perpetrators of sexism. Men need to change. Women are fine just as they are. Men need to think about and react to things in the same way that women do. Any suggestion that women should think about or react to things in a way more like men is utterly offensive. Men need to be open to expressing themselves free of society's traditional expectations of masculinity. Men need to understand that their masculinity must conform to dictates of modern feminism. Men need to reject the outdated concept of masculine emotional stoicism and should, instead, be open to expressing emotional vulnerability... ...So that women can ridicule and humiliate them for doing just that. Women do not need men to help them. Men need to help women. Feminism: It's about equality. Also feminism: The future is female. Women’s rights activism: Good. Men’s rights activism: Bad. We need a greater focus on women’s rights. We need to quickly attach negative connotations and labels to anyone who might focus on men’s rights. If women make up a small proportion of victims or sufferers of something, we need to focus on this overlooked minority. If men make up a small proportion of victims or sufferers of something, we need to continue to focus on women because they represent the majority. We need to apply a ‘gender lens’ to every issue so that we can keep identifying new areas of disadvantage. We need to ensure that our gender lens is appropriately polarised so as to only identify disadvantage for women. We need to focus on how the COVID-19 crisis is disproportionately disadvantaging women in so many ways. The fact that COVID-19 mortality rates are higher for men than women does not warrant any focus. When men raise issues of importance to men, it is important to contextualise these issues with reference to the difficulties facing women. If men contextualise women's issues with reference to the difficulties facing men, that can easily be dismissed as 'whataboutism'. Men’s violence against women is tragedy. Women’s violence against men is comedy. Women’s anger is to be celebrated and encouraged. Men’s anger is to be condemned as ‘toxic’. If a man strikes a woman, it is because he is violent. If a woman strikes a man, it is because he did something to deserve it. If a woman commits a horrific act, it is necessary to investigate what ‘drove’ her to commit that act. If a man commits a horrific act, it is simply because he is a ‘monster’; no further investigation required. In every situation, women are (a) virtuous, (b) victims, or (c) both. In every situation, men are (a) privileged, (b) perpetrators, or (c) both. Never question any of the above.

@@julioochoa8444 I completely agree that there are areas of life in which women are disadvantaged. And these can be quite considerable depending on country and culture. My post reflects the dominant gender narrative in liberal western democracies. If it appears exaggerated, I'd suggest that it is probably because so many elements of the narrative are rarely so explicitly articulated in an aggregated form. However, each of the elements routinely appears in our culture, and increasingly so as a result of the 'long march through the institutions' by the post-modernist cultural Marxist ideology from which the dominant narrative springs. While this narrative may be 'dominant' in terms of its amplification and repetition, I doubt that the majority of people would subscribe to it when explicitly confronted by its tenets. However, the ideology and its narrative mostly operate and influence the majority on a more subtle and insidious level. Helen Pluckrose and James Lindsay wrote an excellent book on the subject, 'Cynical Theories' - highly recommended for those seeking greater understanding of the socio-political trends and changes in evidence around us.

Where's men's right to choose. In the United States. You are obligated to tell any potential intimate partners if you have an STI. Because you could potentially destroy someone's life. But a woman can get pregnant, have the child without telling the man, and then take him to court for child support. Potentially destroying a man's life. So guys. Before you get down with any women in the future. Ask yourself. Are you willing to be tied to this woman for 18+ years?

Here in Australia at the moment (1 Nov, 2023) there is an attempt to denigrate men and males in general because women get killed by their (male) partners on a weekly basis. Boys 'need' to be trained and taught that violence is not ok, according to the frequently heard line. Is this fair? Will it make any difference? I think not. I think some crimes of passion, jealousy and possessiveness are unavoidable even if tragic. I think most men already know that domestic violence is unacceptable.

This is saturated with stating things in a false manner... from a Logic argument standpoint. Here is the Quick Logical time breakdown: 00:00 Intro/Philipp Tanzer Background and past. 03:50 Starts talking about differential treatment of the sexes, and Men's Rights. 06:34 Narrator dismisses the entire differential treatment segment and anything else Philipp just said with a "but" sentence. 06:45 Narrator introduces Graham Goulden, and does editing cuts that make it seem like he is saying something he does not say. 07:45 Philipp starts Traveling to the Men's Rights Activist conference with Jump cuts between Graham and the Travel footage. 11:10 Arrival at conference. 11:20 Narrator dismisses the purposes of the Men's Rights conference. 11:41 Talks about how the media (including this video) tries to demonize the groups by calling them misogynists. 12:21 Irrelevant about Men's Rights, Tracie Farrell the expert on possible misogyny expressed on the Internet. 16:49 Narrator makes a false statement with actual malice... details in 5 below. Full explanations/problems: -1. 6:34 Any time someone says "but" and "because" in a sentence logic standards dismisses and deletes anything said before even an entire topic unless its being refereed to. for instance 6:34 logically states "(with this but I dismiss everything that Philipp was talking about) I had also heard about misogyny and sexism inside the manosphre and how there is a dark side to it." This shows that the Narrator/editor, who is to only state factual statements and present things as neutral as possible, dislikes and dismisses this topic even making up a word 'manosphre' for it. -2. 06:45 - The Narrator/editor starts doing jump cuts that can cause a misconception of what is being said. Graham Goulden is introduced and states that he guesses he supports Men's Rights and that the Men's Rights Activists have a perception (8:51) that they are sinister women hating people. 9:20 "I don't see a hatred (by feminists/society) towards men, I see a Frustration.... Its a frustration that all these decades of work and we're still facing these (people's rights) issues." The jump cuts made it seem that Graham was saying that Men's Rights Activists are misogynists who hate women and that the feminists, or their leaders/representatives, have never made/done hateful things towards men. -3. 11:20 Lets go over how this grammar changes the meaning of the sentence "Men's Rights Activists focus on issues like family law, parenting, circumcision, and in things like education or health institutions, which they say are biased towards women's needs." The words " in things like" and "they say" are other dismissal words and phrases that say these are i thing but its not important nor relevant. -4. 12:21 Tracie Farrell, who is jump cut into spots as a mouthpiece of the Narrator/editor, first off not relevant towards Men's Rights is a false expert included by the Narrator/editor as a further showing on the lack of respect the BBC has towards this topic. Tracie's "..different types of misogynistic behavior." further points to the fact that her scope does not include behaviors towards men and only towards females solidifying her as a false expert. Why was she, a false expert, included? For the Narrator/editor to demonize the Men's Rights Activists as misogynists, right after several attempts to dismiss it. -5. 16:49 Misrepresentation of a comedian and political commentator. Carl (Sargon of Akkad) is a classical liberal as in 1960s liberal values: women should have the same rights (and detriments) as men, Strong households, Strong family units, and no direction of duty for connivance sake. Here the Narrator/editor and BBC calls him as Far Right even though all of his professed views are the most center left positions one could ever hold. They further talk about a Statement that the COMEDIAN/ENTERTAINER made which i will not quote so my comment cannot be taken down, where he said that he would not do something, in response to a all men are r-ists statement. Why did they add this misrepresentation and statement? To try and demonize Carl and the Men's Rights Activists as misogynists. In conclusion, at every turn the Narrator/editor or more factually a legal Representative of the BBC dismissed and tried to demonize the Men's Rights Activists in a video about Men's Rights Activism... talk about open true malice I hope Philipp gets to see this comment.

Feminism isn't the problem that faces men. These issues have always been there and I would say that is actually because of the women's & other minorities struggle for rights that Mens issues are now coming to the surface. These issues are (mostly) valid and I would agree with that last Scottish speaker that we need to help men. These are human rights and men and women should work together to try and build a more balanced society. I find what he says at the start is a massive root to a lot of problems in many countries. 100% false. When are men's issues *ever* front and center? It's literally always women first. Even historically women's well-being was treated as more important, and it's still like this now

Excuse me, but the true meaning of Feminism isn’t all about Women but men and women’s both equality. More of this The Feminism is all about Human rights, about Minority group ; LGBTQ, person with disability... Nevertheless it’s called “Feminism” it’s because we can’t really deny the core problem is all coming from discrimination of women in the society and most of problems that we are dealing with in these days is the problem involved women in society. Changing “the way our society views women” is equivalent to “how our society views men”. So women’s rights and men’s rights can’t be separated, so you shouldn’t have to be a “Men’s rights” activist but just simply be a “Feminist”. (Only If you hope to achieve the gender equality in society, not exclusively men’s rights or women’s rights )

I hope you realise how self-centered that sounds. Everybody suffers, so lets focus on women. I am sure you belive feminism is about equality. From a mans experience i have to tell you: no, it is not, because equality needs different perspectives and feminism does not have that.

Everytime I have an experience with someone who is into feminism I hear things that make me feel that equality in feminism its when woman have more rights than men.

Feminism was for women to gain rights so they could become equal and it was needed in wave 1 and 2. But to say that men have it better nowadays is complete stupidity. Name a right or privilege men have that women don’t because I can name a lot that women have and men don’t.

And the corporate companies (owners, employers) love it. Employers have been exploiting women to the detriment of a more democratic family unit. The Employer and employee undemocratic administrative and legal setup is very toxic too and contributes to the breakup and unhappy families
