That is fantastic Josh! There is a lot of good fishing! But to find the great fishing you have to put in the work! Most folks & guides will not go the extra mile. If you can get up earlier and go further you should have no end of success! If you have any questions don't hesitate to reach out!

Next time your in the gorge take some poundmeisters (cranefly larva) heavy woolies and red mayfly nymphs and emergers. Also worth having some large stone fly nymphs in your box. I noticed those rainbows seemed a little beat up. I wonder if there was pike in that hole. Good day of fishing though. Love the NM videos

Ah, as a native New Mexican this brings up memories. Last time I fished the gorge was when I was slingin' hardware before I switched to fly fishing over 30 yrs. ago. So I never flied it. I'm back in NM now but need to get in shape. The hike, especially up is a workout so it could be the excuse I need to get in shape. I remember using ginger colored jigs and doing ok, but not like you guys. Excellent job! You're excitement reminds me how I was when me and my boys used to hit the water. Good stuff! By the way, did you know there are northern pike in that river? Might explain the brown deficiency. It's been so long since I was there, but is that the trail near Questa? Well you gotta follower now and I need to ck your flies. Thanks a million!

Yeah, when you start catching chubs, shiners, etc...you know it's slow. In saltwater, it's hardhead catfish - you know the tide has gone slack.
